Pacific 19 Kona offers a prime location that is highly regarded by guests for its proximity to Kona's attractions, though traffic noise can be a downside for some. The hotel's free amenities, such as bikes and yoga sessions, along with a friendly staff, are often highlighted by travelers. However, opinions on value are mixed, with hidden fees and overpriced services leading to disappointment for many. While the cleanliness of the hotel earns praise, guests have called for improvements in daily housekeeping. Room experiences vary, with comfort and cleanliness being commended by some, but others report pest issues and outdated decor. The service is generally well-received for its friendliness, despite occasional slow response times. The atmosphere of the hotel combines nostalgia with modernity, yet it receives mixed reviews on its execution.

Pros: This recently renovated hotel is really beautiful. Everything is stylishly designed and highly Instagrammable. The “macro bar” in the rooms is a great idea, and the drinks and snacks are reasonably priced. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. With the window unit A/C going, we were cool enough for sleeping. My favorite part of the hotel was the pool — spotless, refreshing, and plenty of nice lounge chairs. The staff was also very friendly, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. The location is also very convenient for walking to the restaurants and shops in the old village area.

Cons: Not a major issue, but the room smelled a little musty. It’s an older hotel that’s been redone, but I think all those years by the water probably makes some mustiness unavoidable. Also the shower is not great — older fixtures, and the water took a long time to get warm.

Be careful when you stay here. I had a fully paid room from the 16 to 24th of September and yet when I checked in. They asked me for my credit card to be used as a caution deposit/resort fee for US$ 250. As I was reluctant to hand over the credit card they said don’t worry nothing will be charged unless you use the resort amenities and take things out of the minibar.

Another thing that made me uncomfortable is that they fill your room with merchandise which is chargeable. Besides the minibar, notepads, bags, etc and even a Bluetooth speaker. Since I was in Kona on business travel, I did not use any Since their amenities. As I wanted to be sure that my credit card would.not be charged I requested them to take inventory of all the stuff in my room and assure me that I would not be charged the extra $250

The inventory was carried out and I was assured that my credit card had not been charged. However when I received my credit card statement I note that they had charged my credit card for $250.

The room itself was adequate, but no amenities are offered. On request they supplied an electric kettle so that I could boil water but they do not offer teabags or drinking water on complementary basis.

The front desk staff Samantha and emerald were always cheerful and welcoming. But after this experience I get the feeling that they don’t particularly care about the guests. Tourists are just treated as ATMs
basically TRUST no one.

I’ve stayed in the full range of hotels and a luxury hotel With a high price tag is not necessarily a good value. I always appreciate when a reasonable cost results in a more valuable experience. Pacific 19 Kona is a good value. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The amenities of very good morning coffee, beach equipment, pool and bicycles were used and appreciated. Kailua is walkable and beaches are a drive north. A special mahalo to the kind, friendly and helpful staff. My only complaint is the room is cleaned every three days and I’m fine with that, but it would be nice to have garbage emptied and towels checked every other day. I would definitely stay here again.

One of if not the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. For the price of $230 a night it was highly overpriced.

The rooms are ugly and outdated. Moreover you can’t fully close the curtains so light and sound are always come in the room. There is no TV which is alright but in it’s place are cheap posters just hanging off the wall. The fridge is stocked full of overpriced drinks which doesn’t allow room for your own things.

Parking is a hidden fee of $25 a day which btw is stealing from you the consumer because there is not enough parking for all the guest so good luck getting a parking spot that you pay for.

The pool is pathetic and ice cold so no reason to swim; the hotel doesn’t add any other additional benefits then the pool.

I will never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. And before they respond to this review in regards to everything I just mentioned has been said by other guests on other platforms. Basically they know they suck but don’t care to change; the hotel is just an ATM to the owners they do not care about their customers.

The staff at Pacific 19 were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel offered items like bicycles, beach chairs, and towels for their guest to use. The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance to the town. The pictures of the hotel did not do it justice. Upon arrival it did not look like any of the pictures on their website. It needs an updated paint job as the exterior paint and railings were faded. When we checked in, we were asked to sign a waiver stating we would not hold the hotel responsible for any injuries that happening while staying there. I don't recall doing that with any other hotels we have stayed in. The parking cost an additional $25 per night and the parking spaces are very small and parking is difficult. Upon entering the room, there was a smell of mold and mildew. It was really strong behind the bathroom door. The beds in the room were very small even though they were double beds. The air conditioning unit is located in a weird area with a window beneath it which means you can't fully close the curtains and keep the room cool. There was also black mold near the unit. The bathroom was dated and very small. The front desk was kind enough to move us to a different room due to the mold and small. The pool is not lite and it is very dark for a night swim. I would recommend looking for accommodations elsewhere.

We had such a great stay here! It had just opened after renovation and the lobby is beautiful and the rooms were brand new and spacious. We had a connecting room for the kids and they even had a blowup air mattress for an extra bed so all 3 kids had their own space. It was a perfect location to walk to all the shops and restaurants in the Kailua-Kona village. The front desk helped us get a discount for a canoe tour/ride with the Kona Boys and it was so much fun. The room amenities were perfect, and they had beach bum sunscreen and cool down aloe lotion to use and just charge to your room. We definitely want to go back soon!

I was a little hesitant when I saw Pacific 19 from the outside because the exterior looks quite dated compared to other nearby hotels. However, the inside has much more of a modern, boutique hotel feel. I liked the design of the lobby and the rooms: tropical without being overbearing. The room felt very small and the balcony didn't provide any privacy, but it was all clean and more than servicable for a short stay. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. The pool is nothing special and beach views are only partial, so I wouldn't book this hotel if you're craving a resort feel. However, it is in a great location to explore Kona by foot. For our needs (a single night stay before heading to the airport the next day) it was very good.

PACIFIC 19 Kona was AMAZING! It just opened at the beginning of April and is the only boutique hotel in Kona! This area was in dire need of a cool and trendy hotel and I absolutely LOVED everything about it - the lobby was super cute and inviting and had a retail shop in the corner with awesome merchandise (I bought their branded hoodie, dry bag, mug and some iron-on patches). The front desk girls were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the hotel's redesign/renovation. The room and bed were ultra comfortable with luxurious linens and cool artwork (I found out they have a rotating art program where they frequently change out the in-room artwork). They also stocked the room with additional merchandise (some of which is not in the lobby area) and handy travel essentials such as Sum Bum sunscreen and local snacks available for purchase. They also have a few fire pits on property which is a nice amenity especially at night when you're trying to wind down. I also did the daily yoga 3 days in a row and it was super relaxing! I heard they're lining up food trucks to come to the hotel and other experiences such as canoe rides that guests can enjoy, so I will definitely be back on my next visit to Kona!

When you walk by Pacific 19 in Kona, you hardly realize there’s a hotel. When entering you see a nice and stylish modern lobby with very friendly and helpful staff members. The lobby is the only part that’s been modernized, the elevators are still the type that makes your stomach spin. The hallways on the floors are still the original state from when it was newly built. The rooms look like there’s been done an attempt to update then some years ago, still not of this era. Over the advertised rates on Booking.com are coming loads of additional costs that were not indicated on Booking.com

The hotel seems to have been upgraded at some stage however hallways have really cheap carpeted and are dark. The view from the balcony is average .Rooms are pretty dark inside and house cleaning is every 3rd day if you lucky. Requests for clean towels and to have the room cleaned was an ongoing problem. Front desk was helpful but clearly there are not enough cleaning staff.
