This was our 3rd year in a row to Hawaii and we enjoy the Royal Kona so much we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The friendly customer service goes Above and Beyond expectations. Thank you Rene, Rose, Ann, Gino, Matt, Liz, and the complete Staff!i
This is our 3rd time staying at the Royal Kona Resort. We actually got married at the Royal Kona Resort last year. We enjoyed the newly renovated rooms- they are large with spacious balconies. I can't stand paying for parking, but unfortunately that seems to be the norm these days ($18 per day). Suggestion: it would be nice to have an area with games (ping pong, shuffle board, pool table, etc) for guests to access like some of the other resorts we visited on the island. We'll be back!
Love it here! The staff is friendly, it’s clean, quiet, and walking distance to many other things to do. The food is great and the bar/ restaurant next to the ocean is wonderful. Stay here every time we come to the big island, will be back again!
The Royal Kona Resort is a historical resort, originally built in 1969 and preserved through time. During the most recent covid shutdown, the owners invested approx. $15M in room upgrades with new furniture and fittings. The resort is located within walking distance of town with easy access to stores, restaurants, and historical sites. About two hours drive from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and minutes from the Kona coffee fields, the Royal Kona Resort is a perfect setting off point for all your adventures. The new decor and redesign of the rooms brings in a bright island motif with teak furniture and bright window shades. The balcony we had was IMMENSE and was on the corner with a staggering view of the town, water, and lava rock base that the hotel is built on. The only thing we needed to remedy, is in the refurnishing of the hotel rooms, there were no additional electrical outlets or plug in stations put in, except for one clock radio/charger by the bed with one plug in location. We immediately went to Target to buy extension cords and strips to adapt to our 21st century electrical device needs. It was surprising that additional outlets, especially by the beds weren't included with the upgrade. We have never been closer to the sound of crashing waves, which relaxed us each night and made for beautiful views regardless of sun or rain.…
