Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

The pictures speak for themselves. Some may say they are not too bad, all of these were from the bathroom. The toilet was horrendous. I did not see it until my last day there. This hotel need a major overhaul and update. The one good thing I can say, the bed were comfy and

Our room was nice, but we were right next to the elevator. We asked for them to move us and they happily did without even a question. Location is fabulous and staff was spot on with suggestions of where to go. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the St. James for 4 nights. It was quiet - (far enough away from Bourbon St but close enough to walk there) & had that old NOLA charm. No breakfast dining area, but coffee, croissants & juice are delivered to your room each morning. Employees were pleasant &

Spent five nights in this great hotel a short walk from the French Quarter. Close but far enough from the noise and crowd. Lobby and room were lovely with high ceilings and marble. Room was quiet although we happened to be across from a very noisy vending/ice machine and

Horrible check-in . We arrived in the night for flight delay, we were very tired and we have to wait quite 1 Hour to check-in and have the room because they have "an informatic problem", but the guys who arrived immediately before us had fast check-in.

where do we park
You can either self park in one of the paid lots in the neighborhood, or use the hotel's valet service.

Does anyone know the best place to park and prices in the hotel's surrounding area?
We used the hotel’s valet parking and walked where we wanted to go for the most part. We did get the car once for an excursion and they brought it in less than five minutes.

Do you know the name of the $16 self-parking garage
No, but I think it is across the street from the hotel. I chose not to use it because I have heard of frequent break ins regarding cars. I know they have no security at those separate parking areas so I decided to let the hotel take my car.
