Staff were very friendly and helpful for anything we needed! The location is okay, and the parking is great. The A/C, lighting, counter/desk space, outlets, pillows/bed, and toilet are extremely good. There are complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel available in the shower. Only issues were that the floor was a bit sticky when we walked in, and the white bedsheets showed a few light colored marks on one section, like old marker or makeup markings that never washed out. In addition, the doors are extremely heavy and loud when they slam shut. Lastly, the bathtub looks a little old and worn out, though not dirty.

Let's start with the good. The hotel itself looks nice from the front and is modern looking. With that said, this place was a disaster. The hotel basically got rid of its housekeeping staff, so there is only cleaning once every five days. The owner is so cheap that no one even comes to collect your towels or empty your garbage. You have to play housekeeper by exchanging your dirty towels at the front desk, where they will only give you the number of towels you turn in, and the same thing with toilet paper. Thankfully, they do not ask for an exchange of used toilet paper, yet. They will only give out one roll at a time. I suppose one extra roll and the franchisee may go under. Not only that but the hotel writes down your room number to make sure you dare not get one extra towel or toilet paper roll. This is the kind of thing someone might expect at the Alibaba Inn, not the Holiday Inn. And Holiday Inn will never get to the ranks of Hilton and Marriott with owners like this who penny-pinch every item, and treat hotel guests like criminals. The hotel guests also do not get the advertised breakfast, which is supposed to be 7-9:30 weekdays, and 7-10 on weekends. It is only 7-9, which has nothing to do with Covid, because they could still keep the same hours. Also, maintenance is every other day. No dedicated maintenance, so the same guy who is serving your breakfast in a bag is also "the maintenance guy." The first picture shows the elevator in the hotel which had no light cover. This went on for at least a week. This might have cost the owner all of $2 to replace, but again just too cheap to keep the place presentable. The fitness room in the second pic had the sign up that it was closed, even though it was open. The TV did not work in their and of course no one gave a darn about fixing it. Finally, the location is not great and you are almost wondering if your car will be there in the morning. So, you have a nickle-and-dimming owner who wants to pay nothing for your service, but is happy to charge full-price for the room. And none of this cost-cutting on the owner's part is disclosed until you get to the hotel and find out you will get less service than at Speedy's Motel, not to mention the problem of having to serve as your own housekeeper since the hotel has essentially eliminated that.

Sebastian, Ariane and Aaliyah went above and beyond to ensure our visit to New Orleans was a pleasant one. Hotel was very clean, beds are comfortable. Breakfast selection was plentiful considering COVID has forced establishments to limit what they can serve. Will definitely recommend this location to friends and family.

Ms. Amanda, the manager, made our stay after Hurricane Zeta, very enjoyable. Amanda is a real professional & was able to accommodate my wife & I at the last minute. The other staff are super and the room & hotel super clean especially now during Covid. Kudos to Amanda & Holiday Inn Express New Orleans East.

We pull into new orleans around 8 pm for our 3 day mini vaca. First lady super nice at front desk and very cheerful. So we get our room on the 3rd floor so in the ele we go. I thought my life was about to change as the elevator started jerking like the cable pulling it up was about to go. Thank to the good man above the doors opened to the 3rd floor. As i stepped out i could smell the wonderful aroma of marajuana throughout the whole floor. Thank god no kids were with us. After inwalked to my room thinking about how im probably not going to be able to pass a drug test for work now from the smoked out 3rd floor. I opened the door to our room and wow i could barely get in the door it was so small. Im not an obeist person either. The room was all bed and 2cnd grade furniture. So iwent to the window yo open the blinds right as a drug deal was going down right next to my car. I started then realizing we probably arent in the best neighborhood. Wow did i hit the nail on the head we were in the hood come to find out and were definelty some of the only white people in the area ever from the reactions we got for the next three days. Later on we went to dinner after i carried our luggage up the 3 story stair case to avoid the elevator. On our way out it seemed to be the area roped off and three gentleman standing at the opening like they were collecting a cover charge at the club. I then realized they were security for the hotel parking lot. Lovely i thought to myself. On our arival back from dinner i was confronted by one of the clerks yelling at me to put my mask on. Admittedly so i had forgot it in the room but she made a big deal out of it and was very rude as she chatted up shook klnights parking lot crew outside. Everytime after that the lady would say something about my mask even if i had it on just to be a smartass. After a long day of let downs i swueezed into the small bathroom to take a shower and almost tore the shower faucet handles right off that were barely secured. Made it through all that just to find out ihad to go to the second floor to get ice. We were completely disapointed with this room and i feel as if we were rushed out on our checkout morming. This isnt your normal holiday inn express its def the ghetto version but hey whoever had the weed had some killer kind.

Thank you Brad for your feedback. I apologize if the masks were an inconvenience , however it is state mandated by the governor. I know other states are more relax but unfortunately we strictly enforce this to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to our employees and other guests. Our property recently went through a 2.5 million dollar renovation. I apologize if our rooms seem small, for a king room its size is 254sq ft and for a suite that is 348 sq ft if you wanted bigger. In regards to the elevator, there were no complaints found and seems to be running fine. Our check out time is 11am as stated in our websites but could have requested a later time. It saddens me hat you did not enjoy your stay. In the future please let us know if you don't feel safe or not satisfied with the stay. We would be more than happy to correct it. Thank you for your time.
