Stayed at the Ruby Marie for a few nights and although we typically prefer newer properties, it was a joy to be a guest. The room was nicely sized with all the amenities required and we took advantage of our free drinks by sampling local beers. Yes, there is a bar and quite active restaurant next door but at 10 PM, it was quiet. Loved the location as we were away from the downtown square but close enough for us to walk into the Capitol area. A bit too far to walk to campus unless one likes a good couple mile walk.
Hotel Ruby Marie is a true gem. It has large unique rooms and bathrooms which are sparkling clean. The Continental breakfast had a good selection. The location was perfect for walking around and the bonus was live music outside the front door.
We stayed here for two night get away and the hotel was perfect! I'll admit I did hesitate to stay here as some older hotels like this may feel very dated and rundown. Certainly not the case with Hotel Ruby Marie. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Everything in the room operated as it should with several nice personal touches such as chocolates, bottled water, and breakfast. The staff was very friendly and provided an interesting history of the area and offered suggestions on dining and other activities. The location is great, walking distance to many attractions and things to do. I definitely recommend staying here and enjoying the uniqueness of a small boutique hotel.
This lovely boutique hotel was perfect for our trip to explore Madison. The location allowed us to walk most everywhere we chose to visit. The outdoor area and restaurants adjacent to the hotel were wonderful allowing us to relax outdoors while listening to music from one of the nearby restaurants. There were thoughtful amenities provided, including chocolates, waters, drink tickets, and breakfast! Highly recommend trying this nicely restored and appropriately decorated hotel!
The hotel is very nice and beautiful. Way more interesting than just staying in a big chain hotel. The attached bar is a convenient amenity and there is a restaurant next door as well. Its a quick walk to all of the bars, restaurants and sites that you would want to see. Free on site parking also. The staff were very friendly. My only critique is it would be better if they clarified what to do for checkout / breakfast. They used to offer free breakfast with the adjacent bakery, but unfortunately the bakery has closed due to covid. Also for checkout there were no instructions on where to leave the keys or anything. The management was very apologetic and nice, so no harm, no foul.
