Welcome to the Prana Dewi Mountain Resort Tripadvisor page! Our resort is located at the foot of Mt. Batukaru, the second highest Mountain of Bali. Mt. Batukaru is sacred to the Balinese and has a temple, Pura Luhur Batukaru dedicated to it. The last village on the way to the temple is called Wongaya Gede and this is where the owner and architect of the resort, I Gede Hanjaya grew up and lived. The resort is made up of 11 traditional bungalows with 14 rooms nested between organic rice paddies, tropical fruit trees and ornamental fishponds. Our bungalows are generously spaced apart to insure you tranquility and privacy. The interior of every bungalow is unique and beautifully decorated. Each bungalow has a terrace, deck or a bale, a traditional open hut, perfect for relaxing, yoga or meditation amongst rice fields and flowing waters. As well as being a nice place to spend a few days as a visitor, the resort is also specialized to hold meditation and yoga courses over longer periods. If you are interested in this, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our restaurant, which is also open for guests who are not staying in the resort offers delicious western and Indonesian meals. We use as much organically and locally grown fruits and vegetables as we can. Our organic brown rice is grown in the fields throughout the resort! We also offer some actives such a hiking Mt. Batukaru, walks through coffee plantations and rice fields as well as baths in hot water springs. In resort activities include traditional Balinese massage and taking a refreshing dip in the all natural spring water pool. Our friendly staff is happy to greet you!

My partner and I spent four days at Prana Dewi in late February, and despite the slight rain and cicadas, we had a wonderful and extremely peaceful stay in this beautiful little paradise :) The bungalows are charming with great attention to detail, interesting plants and shower areas open to the sky. The restaurant was quite good with organic rice grown on site, good variety and tasty deserts. We loved the fried banana (and try to ask for the crunchy chips, perfect with a beer!). The Pura Luhur Mount Batakaru temple is about 30-40 minutes up the road and rice fields a few minutes walk away which you can organise a walk through.

As soon as you set foot at this resort, you automatically relax. The setting is so serene. If you are looking for more, there are a number of walks to get the heart pumping. Massages available in room to soothe the aching muscles. The food is also fresh & delicious and the staff are awesome. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a place away from the tourist spots.

Located only 1.5 km from Pura Batukaru and about 7 km from Jatiluwih rice field, this resort should be very ideal for us. But apparently our expectation was too high. We cannot pay the bill with credit nor debit card, only cash. The room needs to be renovated, our WC was clogging and we had to use the one at the restaurant. They should definitely improve the hardware to support the nice and warm service that we received from the hotel staff, since booking until check-out.

Response from Prana D, Manager at Prana Dewi Mountain Resort
Responded 14 Sept 2016
Dear Wardono, thank you for your review. We are sorry that Prana Dewi didn't live up to your expectations. It's a pity, that you didn't accept our offer to change to another bungalow. We think that this would have made your stay more enjoyable. Best, Prana Dewi Mountain Resort

We spent totally 3 nights here. First impression was a quiet, lovely place to stay after the noisy traffic in Ubud. We liked it very much. It's also little bit colder up here. We had a spacious bungalow in the rear end of the Resort. The bungalows are all set around rice terraces. And the Restaurant is there too. The bungalow is at some parts open. You will find an outdoor bathroom with a hot water shower and a western toilet. There are some insects of course. There is a mosquito net over the bed and a box (where you can put in food so the ants won't come in), two torches and an information about the trekkings they offer here and fresh towels. There is a lot of space to put your luggage or to relax on the bench or outdoor on a traditional sitting area with a roof. The bungalow

Did a Roadtrip trough the Mountain Area in Bali. Jatiluwih and the Rice-Fields are a must have for every Tourist. Than you should go to the small town Wongaya Gede and stay at Prana Dewi Mountain Ressort. An incredible lovely Place. Every Bungalow is unique, surrounded by rice terraces and an absolut magical scenery. It is not a Hotel, it is not a Ressort like elsewhere. It is a place you will never forget. All the Food is organic, from the own garden and the Chef is doing a great job (for a really decent Price). If you miss it, you will miss one of the hidden Paradise on this Island.

Such a nice hotel with a zen atmosphere!!! The bungalows are build around rice fields, at night you can hear the light sound of water going through the fields :) The pool is beautiful, all made of stone, with statues and tropical trees around. Bungalows are great and well decorated, with an open-air bathroom, you'll feel like having a shower in the jungle ;) so nice! Food is excellent, organic, but a bit expensive. Breakfasts are the best we had in Bali! Bread with butter and jam, fruits salad, yoghurt, tea/coffee. The hotel can organize walks, massages, yoga classes for you. Our experience with the staff was mixed though. One of the person was really nice and smiling but the other one was not caring much about us (didn't say hello, didn't tell us where our room was but just

This place is marketed as a peaceful mountain resort. It is actually situated in a village, although the setting of the place is quite nice. It seems that the hotel uses the "back to nature" feel as an excuse to be lazy about some of the upkeep. The linen smelt, the mosquitoe net was full of holes and the curtains offered little privacy. The staff were nice enough although the service was quite lacking. The food was slightly bizarre; this is the first and only time I will have spaghetti bol, without any tomato in it. It was also slightly surprising for a peaceful place like this to have ten children running around and bombing in the pool but maybe I am just old before my time.

Sparse Indonesian pickings on the menu. Asked if I could have sambal, was brusquely told 'I give you chilli, you mix it with ketchup.' Obnoxious young europackers there playing thumpy music outside their room until late. If the majority of tourists want to eat the same food they eat at home and listen to the same music, let that be an option - a children's menu and headphones, for example, but it is a bitter situation when the minority can't experience, taste or feel the unique qualities of the place they are in because it has all been trampled away by beer-swilling bread-munching ravers, leaving cynical local people who don't care about your interest in or enjoyment of local culture. For the price they need to work harder on identity. The much complained about insects were not

We only stayed a night, but it was a Wonderful experience. Only the sounds of Birds & frogs as you awaken. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, we swam in a pool that spring water from the mountains filled. All organic veges grown here, we had the BEST Mie Goreng for our Dinner, and our Breakfast was delicious. The rooms are clean, and huge in size. A Wonderful Experience.

What a lovely place, beautifully designed and hidden in nature. Great manager in Armi, who is super friendly, experienced, smart and also a great English-speaker. The food, while organic, is ok but not great as it lacks a lot of flavor. Also make sure to bring enough cash as the hotel does not accept credit cards. No fridge in the room. Nevertheless a memorable experience, in an amazing natural setting.
