I can only echo all the previous positive comments. This place is spotlessly clean and provides all basic comforts at an excellent price. Peaceful location, but easy walk into town centre. Owners are very helpful in arranging tours & transport at a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend.

A great place to stay to explore Kampot. Ben the owner is fantastic. Promptly answered my emails before our trip and gave honest an opinion and advice on what to see and do. He organised our Tuk-Tuk tour guide for the day who was a great guy called Ali. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. There is complimentary tea and coffee all day long should you wish in the common area. Mea Culpa is only a 5-10 minute walk to the centre where all the shops and restaurants are and a 2 minute walk to the riverfront. We took the bicycles on Sunday morning and explored the town and over the bridge to fish island. All flat and easy cycling and not much traffic on a Sunday. Ben also gave us late check out on Sunday so we could shower after our cycling before getting the train home. Would recommend Mea Culpa every time. Great accommodation and awesome staff.

The hotel is perfectly located a bit off the main streets so its quiet but still within walking distance to the centre. The people working there are incredibly nice and helpful. Had some really great chats with Ben who is very knowledgeable about Kampot. The building and interior is very well maintained, interior very nicely decorated with some tasteful touches. The pizza is great, baked with stone oven. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

My husband, son & I stayed at the end of December 2019. We are from Melbourne, Australia. When we arrived with our suitcases (which was a bit late), Ben greeted us in the lovely garden. He then showed us to our rooms upstairs, gave general information & informed us as to what tours could be taken while in Kampot.
We ate in his restaurant (the pizza was great) which was so convenient & the staff here are very friendly.
Ben was happy to chit chat & answer any questions we may have had.
Sitting in his garden under the mango trees sipping tea was so peaceful.
Thanks very much Ben, Ben's wife & Mea Culpa family.
We will definitely be back one day!

Owners are very kind and helpful. Without their helps, my Kampot trip might not be excited much. They are always smiling and welcome to answer many of my questions and always willing to help what I asked. I took Giant Ibis Express from Phnon Penh to Kampot and the express bus station is near to Mea Culpa Kampot. We took tuk tuk from bus terminal to hotel. The room is big and super clean. Their Freshly Baked Pizza is must try one when you are in Kampot. Very delicious and reasonable price. It is walkable distance to river and the sunset view for river is very beautiful. Thanks you so much Ben and Mea Culpa family, we will definately stay again at your place when we have the chance to go Kampot.

We enjoyed two nights here. The rooms are old/basic, but spotlessly clean - the cleaners are constantly cleaning. Its a stroll out of town, but easy if you borrow a bike from the hotel. There's not a huge amount to do in Kampot anyway. The pizza is delicious. We ordered breakfast here too for ease in the morning, and it was nice. Nice touch to offer free coffee all day too. Staff were helpful. Tip, make sure you watch the sunset on the river.

A home-like hotel that is located in a very strategic location.

It's located next to the Lotus Pond and only 3-4 minutes from the city center where all the restaurant and stores at.

As for facilities, this hotel also have a legit wood fire pizza place downstairs and they provide free bike to use around town (which is very practical!)

Everything is working in my room - aircon, hot water, TV, etc. The room also quite big with a quiet surrounding.

We stumbled upon this place during a very busy time. The owner went out of his way to help us and make us comfortable and is such a nice man. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and it is a nice area to stay in. It's right near the river and a ten minute walk to the downtown area. There are free bicycles to use or you can easily get set up with a motorbike. I would highly recommend!!

We spent 8 nights at Mea Culpa with our 4 children. Had 1 upstairs room & 1 down. Both were clean and well maintained - clean towels each day, water bottles each day, and the coffee making facility in the upstairs common area was an unexpected bonus.
We had breakfast in the restaurant most days - delicious and cooked to order, there was a decent range of options and very good prices. Had a couple of dinners here too and all food was delicious - kids especially loved the pizzas.
A lovely quiet spot to spend some time, all the staff were very friendly & welcoming. I can't recommend Mea Culpa highly enough!

If you are looking for a quality stay in Kampot, this is it. We've stayed at Ben's place several times over the years and find it clean, quiet and comfortable. He also has a homemade wood fired pizza oven. The staff is very accommodating and can get you a scooter rental,do laundry, set up a local tour, arrange transport to Sihanoukville or serve up cold drinks and tasty food. It's the only place we stay when in Kampot.

Hi Phil, I don't think its possible to get a bus from the airport. The only option direct from the airport to kampot is a private taxi. If you contact the guesthouse directly they can help arrange this. Thanks

Hi Karen, I have spoken to owner of Mea Culpa (Ben) and he has available for 21-24 August nine rooms (9) 3 are twin rooms (One double bed and one single bed), and 6 are double rooms. He can make one foyer avaiable for meeting, or alternatively can use the outside (covered) restaurant area. I am sure if you use Mea Culpa you will enjoy the stay. I cannot send his email on this forum, but I am now living in Kampot so can pass on information etc if required Best regards, Ian.
