There aren’t enough words to describe our stay! The staff was extremely friendly and the food was really good. At arrival we got upgraded to a lodge with a private pool and i must say the room was A DREAM. So spacious, the option for an outside shower, an amazing view, a filled mini fridge and airconditioning. We have never had a more perfect stay than here!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This was out second stop Altezza had arranged and it blew us away. We were so depressed we only had one night there as it was magical. We had a lakefront room that honestly seemed like it had just been built! So clean and spacious with an indoor and outdoor shower - your choice!). We also had a private pool. When we arrived we were greeted with a glass of sparkling champagne and an amazing lunch. The staff did everything they could to ensure we had a perfect time. We really regretted leaving - I'd go back and just spend a week there!

How awesome to wake up with Wildebeest and Impala in your front yard! We were upgraded to new cabins ( 5-6 months old) that were stunning and comfortable. Staff went out of their way to help with my partner's mobility issues by riding us around everyday on a little 'tuktuk'. The food was great and we were able to pack our own lunch which did not happen anywhere else.

Excellent camp with lake views, delicious sun Downers and food. The new 2 bedroom suites are amazing with private plunge pool. Am ideal stop enroute to Tanzania Northern Circuit safari. Plenty of wildlife surrounding the camp. When in the middle of the bush take some precautions of bush life like keeping doors and windows closed in the evening or when lights are on.

We checked into Maramboi Tented Lodge today. I was assured that rooms were insect free, I expected a few here and there but as lights got switched on at 6:30 pm, every bug in the world came out - some flew on us, some crawled into our bed, some were flying across the room, a couple of scorpions on the wall. No windows and doors were opened at all and still it was a nightmarish carpet of crawlies on the bed, chairs, tables everywhere. While the property has a good view, avoid it like a plague unless you are studying bugs for a livelihood.

Response from Tanganyika Wilderness, Owner at Maramboi Tented Lodge
Responded 3 weeks ago
Dear Travellernewzealand2, Thank you for your feedback in the TripAdvisor platform. We are very sorry you did not enjoy the experience at Maramboi Tented Lodge. Our Manageress and her team tried their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It’s unfortunate that you did not want to hear the briefing upon arrival that we do to all guest where we provide information among other things how to live in a wild area, talking about topics such as: moving at night, closing doors to avoid bugs. All this information helps guest to experience the tented lodge to the fullest. Looks like you wanted to go to your room and ignore important information that could have helped to enjoy more. We are aware that you left the doors to the outdoor shower open same as the door that opens to the private swimming pool. It’s a fact that after sunset when the lights go on if one does not close the doors and specially in November with the rains, lights can attract lots of bugs. And despite the rooms are sprayed these can be uncomfortable. Thank you for your feedback. It will help us to host future clients and to make sure we deliver the best of our services. What an incredible place! We were so gutted we only had one night here! Our tented lodge was just a dream, over looking so many wild animals & the pool overlooking Lake Manyara! Sunset was beautiful around the pool with a happy hour cocktail. The staff were incredible, so friendly and welcoming. Our dinner & breakfast was great as was a picnic lunch that we could chose & pack up ourselves for our Safari drive. We saw sooo many animals from here, Zebras, warthogs, meerkats, wildebeest. In the morning other guests said they heard a lion roaring! Would definitely recommend staying here for more than 1 night & we look forward to returning!

Spent our first night of safari here and we didn't think anything could top the incredible day we had in Tarangire Park but this place almost did. Our Suite tent looked like something you'd see on "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous" - it was that luxurious - huge, beautifully appointed with private infinity pool (mere feet away from grazing gazelles!!!!) and outdoor shower. Attended Happy Hour at main infinity pool with complimentary drinks and snacks - again with wildlife grazing mere feet away - absolutely amazing. Dinner and breakfast on outdoor restaurant deck were wonderful. Staff were always exceedingly welcoming and friendly. Cannot recommend this place enough - do yourself a favour and stay here - you will not regret it!

I can see why so many couples choose this for their honeymoon - it’s so romantic. However, I visited with my bestie with no husbands in sight and it was equally amazing! Lovely staff, well-appointed luxury rooms and great food, it’s a wonderful place. But the biggest wow-factor was the infinity pool, with stunning views across the plains to lake manyara. Wildebeest, giraffe and warthogs shared our space, it was wonderful to see them while we were swimming and sometimes warthogs even trotted about on the paths around our room. Giraffes were curious and came super close, and we saw some stunning sunsets. Highly recommend Maramboi!

We are a family of three generations, ranging in age from 10-80 YES 80! Our stay was amazing and I will definitely recommend this fabulous camp. We stayed in the brand new lodge which was extremely well appointed with a quality bed and linen to a wonderfully appointed bathroom . Even our own pool and outdoor private shower. The staff were a delight with their generous nature, their smiles, their genuine enjoyment of our large family group making our life so warm and comfortable. The food was delicious and offered something for us all with even if youngest enjoying the veggies!😊 We will be back one day

Amazing start to our safari adventure. As we drove into camp we saw our first glimpses of the wildlife. Zebra, impala, warthog in full view. After getting to our room we realised these animals are free to roam around the 'tents'. I say tents, they are canvas sided rooms, with a proper lockable door. Food severed was lovely, drinks included. All served close to the lake edge with a view over the infinity pool. Sadly only one night here. Came 2nd in our 7 night stay out of 5 hotels.
