With temperatures in the low 30 deg C there is a welcome breeze from the sea to keep you cool whilst dining, drinking or relaxing at this unpretentious but well appointed hotel. The room and pool area were very clean and comfortable. Air con in the room was first rate and very needed for a good nights sleep. Evening entertainments were fun and low key. All the staff were friendly, helpful and well trained. The attached sailing school was our main reason to stay here and we enjoyed two sails a day over a 10 day period. There's expert tuition for beginners and a relaxed vibe if you've sailed before. The food is good if not that adventurous. There are plenty of delightful restaurants and bars outside the hotel grounds accessible by water taxi or tuktuk. The cost is pretty reasonable compared with big cities and it's tempting to go back often!…
The staff were incredibly perceptive, thoughtful and warm. We enjoyed the variety of recreational activities available. The scenery was incredible - especially the view from my hotel room and the sunsets/sunrises from the beach just a few minutes from my hotel room.
After several years we returned to Mnarani Club and had a really great stay. The staff are excellent, welcoming as ever. Friendly and efficient, they really make it a great experience. We were so pleased to see that the hotel has survived the last couple of years. Busy with a mixture of Nairobi families and local business people along with international tourists it is unpretentious and comfortable. The pool is wonderful and the views across the creek are beautiful. Can’t wait to return!
The pool area is great, one of the most enjoyable settings you’ll ever experience, but the food we ordered in the dining room was sloppily delivered and incomplete. The taste and quality was abominable. Really bad. Left my grilled “sandwich” on the table after tasting one bite. Same for the pizza and the samosas.
This place is a gem due to the staff. I’ve been travelling along the Kenyan coast for the month and was blown away by how friendly and attentive the staff are. The food was decent, setting lovely, rooms slightly worn but the service more than makes up for it. A special thank you to Duncan at the restaurant!
