We stayed at this hotel for one night for convenience in addition it appeared to be a brand new hotel. Initially we were happy with the room and the kitchenette. UNTIL we found DRUG paraphernalia in one of the cupboard while trying to make a pot of coffee the next morning. We notified the front desk, showed them the picture asked them to warn the housekeeping staff and asked for compensation. 20 bucks was the amount they discounted. Unbelievable. This situation could have had a much different outcome had there been fentynal or something else.
What would have made this stay better was... Give us the room that we reserved that was on our confirmed reservation instead of lying and saying we didn't reserve it. Fix the majorly damaged wall behind the recliner where the recliner hits the wall and the foot-long ripped box spring. Check and make sure that the protective plastic on the coffee cups isn't ripped so they're sanitary. Filthy black marks on the ends of the paper towel rolls. No hair conditioner in the shower dispenser. Fix bathroom fan that doesn't run. Change bathroom light over vanity that is so dim you can hardly see. Clean dirty walls. Water runs out from handicap shower all over bathroom floor because the shower floor is higher than bathroom floor. Completely chipped toilet lid. Brand new hotel and it already looks rundown. This was a very uncomfortable stay and we won't be back. Will not recommend to anyone. Another thing that would not be helpful is if I receive a boilerplate response.…
At this point, I have visited with no less than 3 hotel staff and 5 guest relations. I have not been called back - not once - by any of the staff at this location - even the Manager. I do hope that the owner reads this review. Complaint - limited sleep for my wife and I due to dogs barking and twice dogs fighting in the hallway late and night and early in the morning - I canceled and six-night stay after one night and after much time spent planning this as a result of being put on first level alert due to the fires. First call - I called the front desk and was informed that they would check to see if they could move us. It was already 10:30 at night and after listening to the dogs' bark for over two hours so far. No effort made by staff to come to our floor or call the folks in their room to keep the dogs quiet - no less than two dogs near us. This continued for almost the whole night and did not stop until the very early hours in am. We decided to leave after only one night of our 6 night stay, and I informed front desk attendant about why we were cutting short our stay. No effort was made to make things right or inform the manager about our concern - nothing. What did happen is that I was told that I needed to call IHG to have my points credited back for the nights I did not stay. The front desk did not offer to immediately credit back for nights not stayed- she did not even know how to go about this?? I had to call IHG directly to get my points back. I have not received a follow-up call by the manager to make things right. She did offer, indirectly via IHG guest relations, a $25.00 credit for an original six-night stay - what a joke and insulting to boot. My company is a Global Company that lists IHG properties as a "Most Preferred" hotel, and I usually stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Staybridge, etc.. I have stayed and dozens of hotels and never treated this way as a guest, and I will never stay at this location again. I absolutely advise that you do not either. Reason for Visit:Fires in the area - Travel Tips:Do not stay here ConsStaff, poor guest relations, terrible customer service, poor management follow up…
In the many times I have been a guest at a hotel, I have never been treated as poorly as I was at the Candlewood Suites. My husband I arrived around 6:30 p.m. and stood at the front desk for more than five minutes while the employee sat in the break room within our sight. She glanced at us more than once as she ate her dinner and not once did she get up to greet us. I had to leave the lobby and find the courtesy phone to dial the front desk in order to get her attention. When she did stand up, she didn't welcome us and only asked for identification and payment, slid us a key and went back to the break room. When we got into our room, we noticed paneling missing from the moulding on the bottom wall, the conditioner pump was completely empty in the shower, we were only given two full-sized towels and the coffee maker had an old, used coffee filter from previous guests. If I could give any advice to those looking to stay in Vancouver, it would be spend the extra $30 and stay at the Hampton Inn on Olympia Drive. You will actually be treated as a valued guest there.…
