They have a gorgeous historic building and have restored it to look nice, but they are NOT a full service hotel. No restaurant. Bar (wine only) open only Fridays and Saturdays. And I've had better "continental breakfasts" at many a Holiday inn. The rooftop terrace is nice, but not handicapped accessible. We ended up feeling cheated at having spent $379 for one night, which would have been an acceptable price for a full-service downtown hotel, but not for low-end motel-type amenities.
Great hotel. Located downtown, within walking distance of many local restaurants and stores. This is an old, historic building, that has been restored. It is fun to stay in an old building with so much history. They say JFK even stayed here once!! The rooms were clean, well appointed. Comfy beds. We had views of the old houses on the hill. Great sushi restaurant just down the block, with many others close enough to walk. Parking was better than we thought it was going to be. We will definitely stay here again. This was out first trip to Astoria. We had a great time. We were there in June, just now getting around to leaving some reviews. We found reviews helpful when planning our trip, decided to start leaving some ourselves.
We spent 4 nights on the Oregon coast ( 2 nights Astoria, 1 night Newport and 1 night Florence). Astoria was our favorite stop as we enjoyed all the great craft breweries (Buoy, Reach Break, Astoria Brewing, Fort George). I don't think you can get a better location than the Hotel Elliott and we loved their rooftop terrace with a 360 view of the area! Our room was very comfortable, the staff was helpful and friendly, the grab and go breakfast was Covid adequate. We were there on a weekend and the Sunday market closes the street in front of the hotel but parking nearby was not a problem. On our free day, we went over the amazing 4-1/2 mile bridge to Cape Disappointment State Park and that was very fun.
We loved being right downtown in a friendly, comfortable, convenient, historic hotel! The only thing I’d add is granola for breakfast. The elevator was working, the staff were delightful. We’ll be back!
Just loved our three day stay at the Elliott. We had a large room on the 5th floor. Loved having lots of space. Living room with couch, tv, microwave and refrigerator. Then king bed in open bedroom. AND a large bathroom with heated floor, walk-in tiled shower AND a large Jacuzzi tub. Breakfast is bagged. Muffin, juice, fruit cup, cereal, coffee or tea. Okay but would rather have had a hot breakfast for the price. Maybe after Covid. We didn’t use maid service while there. As there were plenty of towels, we were fine. Location couldn’t be better. Right down town and parking was not a problem. We walked to everything. Hotel is spendy but was perfect for our first travel splurge in over a year.
