I have been staying at the Quality Inn at Hyde Park for years and it has always been a nice place to stay. Under the COVID rules things have changed a bit. My room had to be ventilated when I arrived and the windows were opened with a air purifier in the room. That made me feel safer that the room was well aired out.

The room was a clean a whistle and well stocked with things that I needed. The bed as usual was nice and soft but firm and slept soundly though the night. Even though the hotel was pretty full (too full to me under New York State standards), the hotel was really quiet and I slept really well and got a good nights rest.

The only bad thing was the breakfast was not included. They could have had a Grab and Go breakfast like the other hotels do where you could eat it in your room or on the road but that was not available. Still the stay was really good and I will be back in the future.

I have stayed at the Quality Inn at Hyde Park for many years especially this time of year when I visit for Sinterklaas weekend. I was able to get a really good price for the room both nights so I stayed an extra night at the hotel.

The hotel is very basic and could use some refreshing in the public areas in the carpets and wall paper when you walk in. It just needs some basic maintenance. The room was perfectly fine. Outside some water spots on the ceiling in the shower area, the rest of the room was perfectly fine.

The room was clean as a whistle and the bed was super comfortable. The room like the hotel is basic, comfortable and I was able to relax for two nights. The location on Route 9 is perfect to get to all the colleges. I slept very soundly both nights and really got a good night's rest both days. The bed is so comfortable.

The breakfasts at the hotel are very basic. There is a wonderful waffle bar that I enjoyed both days. They had breakfast sandwiches which you popped in the microwave, cereals, fruit, bagels and pastries. Nothing fancy but still good. I was fine with the selection knowing that when I stayed last year during COVID, there were no options at the hotel. It is perfect if you just need something to eat.

The staff are always very nice to me and I find them very welcoming. If you are looking for something fancy, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for the basics, this is the hotel for you. Comfortable, good location and good amenities.

Their is no lobby, so if you expect to be able to sit there to read, etc., you can't.
The breakfast was frozen Jimmy Dean sandwiches, cereal, and oatmeal packets. You had to take anything back to your room to eat. Staff was ok, but didn't really interact with you. When coming in or leaving, they didn't usually look up. Somewhat trashy in the back of the parking lot. The bed, TV, & WiFi were fine, but the room was dark. Some of that was the olive green paint on the wall and the dark carpeting. Also, the lightening was rather dark/dim. Could use some more outlets. Other than the noise from people in the room above us, the room was quiet. It wasn't cheap either. It was close to FDR, a nice diner, and a DQ.

The Quality Inn Hyde Park is always my choice of hotel every year since I started volunteering for the Sinterklaas parade. The rooms are always clean, the staff is always friendly to me and the beds are amazing. I got one of the best night's sleep I had in weeks (lots of stress at work) and it was just nice to decompress and relax here.

The breakfasts in the small dining room are simple and nice, They had run out of eggs and sausage that morning but I like their waffles and head to them first. The mix they use is excellent and I always have the perfect waffle. It is a nice way to start the day.

I like to get the rooms with the view of the woods. It is nice to wake up looking at the sun rise and the field in the back. Overall the stay was wonderful and I will be back again next time I am in the area.

I had initially wanted to stay further north but there was no availability at several other hotels. This one came up with fairly good reviews.

I was underwhelmed. The room was stale and musty smelling (I ran out to Dollar Store and bought a air freshener). Upon entering the bathroom a rag was hanging on the doorknob and I returned it to the front desk. Sigh.

The bathroom is not fully accessible as the shower required a step up and over (a regular tub with a flexible hose attachment), Mirror was not suitable for wheelchair and while there were bars and grips the toilet paper was impossible to reach (even for able bodied). Only switches that were low enough to reach in a chair were in bathroom. No privacy peephole at wheelchair level. Toilet ran all the time. Closet was nonfunctional and the smoke detector hung down from ceiling.
Bedside table had a box of condoms in the drawer!! Overall room was tired and dingy. Breakfast was very basic and all over the place were handwritten notes for 'juice broken', "Plz don't touch buttons" etc. Doors in and out had numerous fraying papers affixed. Very cluttered and not welcoming.

Saturday night of my stay the tv did not work but I didn't realize this until I was in for the night. Desk person came and fiddled with it and then replaced it. I was very uncomfortable having him in my room. The next morning it did not work again so I left early for the road. No channel guide or directions available.

This is a regular Quality Inn. Nothing fancy or special. Very clean. Nice furniture. Very small five table breakfast area. Debated between three and four stars since we can’t rate at 3.5. Breakfast was slightly under par for this price range with make your own waffles, Jimmy Dean microwave “egg mcmuffins”, limited cereal, bagels, bread and apples. It does have daily room housekeeping service unlike many others. Would stay here again. About a mile or so from a major grocery store. Gas across the street. A wonderful restaurant, the Eveready Diner, was very close. Very nice thick bath towels.

Is it too much to ask for a clean room, that doesn't need repair? Apparently. We started off shaky when we checked in and the woman behind the desk apologized that there were only 2nd floor rooms and no elevator, but if we had called ahead she would have saved us a 1st floor room. Not sure what brought on this song and dance because I never asked for a room on the first floor? Maybe because I walked in with a cane as I had a bum knee? After sending me down the wrong hall, we finally reached our room, and the grout is missing in the bathroom floor? We arent picky so we didnt say anything but come on! At breakfast there is no one to wipe down the table after each diner eats, so we got to sit in the last guests crumbs (and whatever else) to eat?? I got a couple if napkins and some hand sanitizer and wiped down our table, but supposedly this hotel is COVID sensitive? Not! Our room keys stopped working EVERY DAY, a trip to the front desk before we could get into our room. The room maids were efficient and cleanly, but the lobby door was disgusting and although we saw someone wipe the door, she did a poor job, my husband asked if she used a rag from the swamp to clean the glass. These employees need training and the manager need to take note of the details.

We waited till last minute to book a place which made our options so limited, maybe college move in that weekend. Let me preface that we have become a little more fancy in our older age & travel a lot so we have higher expectations lately. As for the hotel, the staff was really friendly, easy check in along w/ free parking and a fun diner down the street. Location was close to where we needed to be and lots of quick stores and gas station close by. The rooms were pretty clean minus it was stuffy because the A/C was off and there was a frog stuck in our window screen, hey its the woods right? (don't worry my husband saved him lol) Some of the screens were damaged so I think the little animals used that as an opportunity. (Our daughter didn't think that was so great, we are city folks). There were plenty of towels and the beds nice enough for a nights sleep. The front desk guy even gave my husband some ketchup late night after we shamefully stopped at McDonalds and they forgot to give him some. We did smell someone smoking marijuana but I think that's hard to handle unless we told someone. The lighting was limited and the room is a bit dark but we did not hang out in the room so it didn't matter except if you need light for makeup, I do not but in case you do. The water pressure was good, hot water for all of us and the bathroom was clean and plenty big enough to change in. As a relative who lives near by said "its not the Ritz" but if you want a clean, quick stay its perfect!

The room was clean, not a large room but not too small either. Great water pressure and temperature from the shower - kudos to management. Stayed at the Island Sun Inn in Venice, FL where the water barely came out of the faucet. Breakfast was "ok" but they can move on from Covid protocol now, the pandemic is over. People should be able to sit down and have breakfast vs. bring food back to their rooms. Coffee wasn't great.

We stayed here a few years back. It wasnt fancy butbit was clean. Not any more! Stay away from this place! The bathroom sink had a film of what looked like black soot and the bathroom was dirty I ended up getting cleaning supplies, from the guy at the front desk, and cleaning the bathroom myself since they only had double rooms to move us into and that wouldnt work. The free breakfast looked like old sausage, white bread for toast and a dew muffins. We went to Dunkin.

There is not a shuttle, however, there are multiple taxi services that will be outside the train station waiting to take Poughkeepsie visitors to their destination. If you would like a specific number to have a taxi waiting for you please give the hotel a call and we will be happy to provide you with the number. We look forward to your visit!
