Guests appreciate the hotel's prime location, close to historical sites and the CIA, along with its clean, new facilities and unique design. This is a brand new hotel. When we walked in the room is spacious but the ceiling height is quite low for being a modern hotel. The lighting in the room is quite stark. If someone gets up in the night there are no nightlights or way to adjust the lighting. Several of the light switches didn't do anything which made no sense. Like they were not hooked up at all. Also there is no clock next to he bed so if you wake up in the night and want to know the time you have to find your phone..
The bed was not very comfortable and the sheets were very rough. The A/C does not have a fan option so you cannot run the fan all night for white noise. The A/C is right by the bed and every time it comes on it was very loud and woke us up. This was very disappointing since sleep is the main goal of a hotel room.
Overall the size of the room was very good and if you were staying for a week it provided everything you need for a kitchen to eat in the room.
At check in we asked for a bottle of water which most hotels will provide - most Marriott hotels will provide - one complimentary bottle but we were told no and we must purchase.
Overall I'm not sure I would return to this hotel

From our arrival at the hotel to our departure, the experience could not have been better (well maybe if we had a little less rain). The location was very convenient to the places we planned to visit - FDR library and house tours for FDR and Vanderbilt as well as visiting Culinary Institute. The hotel is about 9 months old. The lobby is very inviting and nice to hang out in at end of day with glass of wine from lobby bar. The breakfast area is kept very clean. Food is standard hotel breakfast options but they had fresh fruit parfaits each morning which was nice surprise. Room was large and very nice. Kitchenette was handy and well appointed and it was nice to have a larger refrigerator. The bathroom had lots of counter space which is always nice as well as a very convenient mirror and cabinet outside of the main bath as well. We will definitely be visiting again!

My best friend and I were up visiting the CIA campus and the she went to visit a friend while I visited the Vassar Museum and campus.

After our day of touring, we spent the night at the Inn and it was wonderful. I was surprised to find that this was a Marriott hotel so we had the pleasure of the Marriott beds. I have never slept so well and so deeply. I was so relaxed after a long day. My sleep was so comfortable.

The room was really nice with a seating area, a small kitchenette and a nice sized bathroom. The view of the woods was very pretty. The location was perfect, right across from the CIA and Marist.

The breakfast was complimentary with the stay and was delicious. The had eggs, waffles, yogurt with fruit, all sorts of cereals and bread, potatoes and the very good little cheese soufflés. I was impressed by the selection. Guests were hungry as the assortment turned over quickly. The only problem and this is with hotels across the country, they close at 9:30am. This is when people start to wake up and want to eat. It should close an hour later.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and we will be returning in the future. It was a really nice room.

One reason for giving this stay only 3 stars is regarding Marriott itself and its points system: I had booked 2 rooms, both under my name - one for my wife and me, and the other for one of our children. Our room was for 6 nights, and the other was for 3 nights. When we checked our points total, we noticed that we received points for only 3 nights. When we called Marriott, and after being placed on hold for 30 minutes, we were told that we could not get credit for 2 separate rooms, even though we paid for both, and both were under our name and account. They finally agreed, after we asked to speak to a supervisor, to give us points for the longer booking (6 nights), but not for both: 9 (6 + 3).

There was also an issue with housekeeping: We were told that the room gets cleaned only once every 3 days, unless we request otherwise. We waited the 3 days, and after this time, we saw that all they did was change our towels, and empty the garbage. Floors were not swept, the rug was not vacuumed (both obviously dirty), and the bed was not made. We subsequently put in an actual request to the front desk for a real cleaning. Again, the only things housekeeping did were to replace the towels (and not all - we had to get our own wash cloths), and empty the garbage. I then revisited the front desk. The front desk person was apologetic, indicating that he, in fact, put in the cleaning request, and this time would check the cleaning himself. The room was finally cleaned (the day before we checked out). He also provided some room credit as compensation for the lack of housekeeping.

Another issue: We had another one of our kids stay in our room for a couple of nights. He tried to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room, but the mattress was terrible (surprising for a relatively new hotel). The front desk person accommodated us with a rollaway bed, which was much better, but this took up a lot of space.

Positives: Hotel is relatively new, so it has an overall nice appearance inside (lobby, etc.) and out. The location - NY Hudson Valley, across from the Culinary Institute of America, is good. The hotel has a well-equipped exercise room and self-service laundry facility, the latter of which we used. Note, however, that there is no pool (not an issue for us).

Breakfast: Average - similar to "Hampton Inn" style, although there was no variation in offerings over the 6 days that we were there.

Most of our previous hotel bookings were at the average Hilton brand hotels, as well as the Holiday Inn Group (IHG). We had decided to try a new chain. Unfortunately, our experience with Marriott was below what we expected and were hoping for.

We had purchased a day pass for Mohonk House and decided that we would rather stay in a brand new hotel versus a very old style hotel. It was definitely the right choice! This particular Residence Inn is certainly more upscale and nicer than any other one we have ever stayed in. The design of the exterior and interior is beautiful and perfect! I spend approximately 100-140 nights every year in hotel rooms (due to my profession) and therefore I have a huge comparison of Marriott properties! Our room was perfect. The front desk staff were all very kind. Nice to see some younger staff that cares and does a great job with customer service. There was one female bartender in the evening that had a great deal of attitude towards us trying to order beverages, but there always seems to be one that just doesn’t fit in and really care about the customers. I would not let her ruin our evening or our stay. We have reservations to return in the Fall and we will look forward again to such a nice experience at this property. The owners made the right decision to make it higher class than the normal and all of the extra details in the design were certainly appreciated. I hope that they continue to treat their new young staff respectively and we will look forward to their genuine welcome again in October.

The location is central to many cute towns and things to do. The hotel is new, just 7 months old, and so everything is spanking new. The set up of rooms has plenty of storage making unpacking very easy. The room, #526, overlooked the back garden/ walk path, mountains, and CIA school - so it is really convenient if you make reservations at one of the CIA restaurants. All the staff were very nice and helpful. The only glitch was a miscommunication of when rooms are to be serviced, but that was fixed. Definitely would recommend location to all!

When we pulled into the parking lot at this property we were unsure if it was open. We had made our reservation via the Bonvoy App, but they were literally installing the signage as we pulled in.

We soon learned that we we literally the very first guests to check in. The staff greeted us like celebrities. They gave us a beautiful gift basket with local honey, wine and other branded merchandise.

After a tour of the lobby, the Storyteller lounge and breakfast area, we posed with photos by the simulated fire. We learned about the locally sourced food, art and building materials used at the property.

Are room was large with a very niche kitchen, sitting are and bedroom. As the first occupants everything was spotless. The cleaning staff came by to welcome us. We were starting to feel like celebrities. By honestly, everyone seemed so friendly and excited about the hotel.

It's directly across the street from the Culinary Institute of America and only about 2 miles from the FDR Library.

More hotels are on the way on the property, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better choice in the Hyde Park area.

Cocktails and food choices at Storyteller are unique and local. I noticed EV chargers in the parking lot. While it was too cold to make use of them, there are at least two outdoor seating areas for use in the warmer weather.

While the features are all first rate, the genuine passion and enthusiasm of the staff are what make this place special.

Having achieved the Titanium level, we've stayed at a good deal of Marriott properties over the decades.
We feel comfortable in stating, this is not one's typical Residence Inn.
Conveniently located between Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie, the building presents itself impressively from the road; and easily compliments the surrounding architecture.
The check-in at the front desk was enthusiastically welcoming, and efficient.
The lobby is impressive, and detailed nicely in the prior TA review.
Our room was spacious, comfortable, and provided an excellent retreat for our 10 day exploration of the Hudson River Valley (a bucket-list item).
Our only disappointment (a minor one) , was not being able to snag a room overlooking the Culinary Institute of America, with its engaging structures/campus.
Though we normally don't "cook" when traveling; having a kitchen area is a nice option for heating leftovers, snacking, etc.
The complimentary breakfast was a step above what one often finds; providing a nice selection of items from which to choose.
All and all; our stay here was a quite satisfying experience.
If we return to the area; this option would certainly be our first consideration for lodging.

We had a lovely stay at this brand new hotel. It is soft branded as a residence inn but much more high end and unique than other residence inns where we have stayed. Very clean, lovely lobby with cozy places to sit and enjoy a drink at the lobby bar, the gym is very well equipped with four Peletons and plenty of treadmills and ellipticals. Location is ideal if dining at the Culinary Institute.

Lovely hotel, new or newly renovated, clean and attractive. Room was well designed with kitchen, sleeping and sitting areas that made the room feel larger than it was. Convenient to Culinary Institute, FDR residence/museum, Val-Kill and other sites.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Included breakfast had plenty of choices and was well presented and tasty. Free EV charging was definitely a plus.

Only negatives were no pool and housekeeping was every other day. Not a huge deal, but less than one expects at Marriott brands. Otherwise I would rate 5 stars
