If you look at their picture. They show 2 chairs on the balcony. You can’t get anything out there. It is 1 foot wide with a sliding door that has a bar to hold it shut. We talk to several people and all of us booked this because of the nice balcony they showed in the picture. They need to be honest about the balcony. Also the hotel is showing it age on the outside. Hot tub is chipped and needs updating. Location is great but hotel needs to be totally redone or tested down and rebuilt.
The hotel was clean , friendly check in. The room was fine, clean and comfy. The riverwalk is steps away, nice walk. Went to the ballgame, not exactly walking distance but we did in one direction. Overall, nice place.
On February 18 my client had a 6:30 AM medical test at Manatee Memorial Hospital. We reside approximately an hour and a half away from the hospital and decided to go up the night before. We stayed at this Marriott because she will have a heart procedure in 3 weeks and her cardiologists pay for their patients rooms the night before surgery. We had asked for adjoining rooms but we’re unable to get them, so we had rooms side-by-side. Upon entering the first room ants were all over the baseboard and going up the wall; the second room the entry light barely worked. I took my 81-year-old client in her 5 pound Snorkie mix back to the lobby, explain those rooms were unacceptable and was given two more rooms. Upon entering the first room I got as far as the bathroom where the tub had a large rusty crack like it had been hit with a hammer and mold throughout the grout, room #2 was also a shower full of moldy grout. Back downstairs, back to the front desk where Marissa the clerk was more than kind and understanding. Finally, the only rooms available were two junior suites which she kindly gave to us at the cost of the room. By this time it is after 7 o’clock at night, my client is exhausted. Upon entering the first suit immediately noticeable was the terribly stained lounge chairs! Under the cushions were substantial food crumbs! Once again there was mold in the grout in the bathrooms, there was no veneer whatsoever on the wood base under the bathroom sink, it was all scuffed. The carpet did not look as though it had been vacuumed very well, and was overall grungy. My suite next door was pretty much the same. Neither room had a directory of services, or even the layout of the hotel. My room had a clock radio, hers did not, and what passed for a coffee maker I have not seen since I stayed in a Motel 6 in 1998! I am absolutely incredulous that this is a Marriott property. I have never stayed in a Marriott that look like this. I will say the staff was exemplary, and the lobby you would never know that the rooms were train rats. My client will not be staying in this hotel when she goes for her surgery. I am sure once I show the cardiologist office the pictures of the suites that they will understand and will compensate her stay at another hotel. My client and her husband owned a hotel in Saint Ignace, Michigan for over 35 years and she herself was appalled. Prior to being a certified nurses assistant I owned and operated a cleaning service for 25 years, and if any of my employees had left any rooms the way these rooms were they would’ve been fired. I realize that COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on the hospitality industry, but this hotel is a stain on the Marriott name. Once again, kudos to the staff at the front desk for being so kind and patient. Hopefully I can attach the pictures that I took to this review. …
We needed a room that had 2 bedrooms in this area of Florida. While this Marriott did not have 2 bedrooms it did offer a generous size suite. 2 queen beds in the bedroom area. A nice size living area/TV/Microwave and fridge in the parlor area. This was nice to be able to spread out. This hotel is in an ok area from what we could gather. Nice river, but there are no views from the rooms. Manatee hospital is right across the street so we did hear lots of sirens, but that was ok. The fitness cente3r was pretty good. Lots of cardio machines, cable machine and free weights. We used it daily. Pool are had plenty of loungers and was not crowded. However, towels are only given at front desk and they only give out 1 per guest. This is a bit lame in my opinion. Starbucks coffee and simple breakfasts offered at the market cafe. I only purchased coffee so I can't rate the food. Front staff were very nice and housekeepers very responsive to needs. This hotel is a bit tired and the bathroom was very small. I mean really small! Pretty tough for 3 people to share space for personal toiletries. There was also only 1 small garbage can for our entire suite. We moved it into the bathroom, but they really should have 1 in each area. Hallways are very dark. Plenty of free parking and very easy location to get to restaurants and shops. Overall this was a decent place to sleep at night, but don't expect anything more than that.…
My husband myself and our two toy Australian Shepherd‘s have home renovations going on that unfortunately were causing delays in our move-in timeline so we needed to book a hotel for a month. During our stay here we got to meet the entire team and enjoyed them getting to know us and our dogs by name. There is plenty of places to walk the pups around the pond that is in the front of the hotel and along the river walk. My highlights from our stay were being able to walk the Riverwalk to downtown for a date night at the cute bars and Resturant. Hubby and I loved walking to the the farmers market on Saturday. Myself and our team enjoyed the on-site Starbucks and hosting several meetings in the hotel lobby. If you are local and you’re looking for a hotel that is friendly, clean, and an adventure then I would highly recommend staying here. …
