This hotel is in a great location, the room is fine, parking is available next door and there is a breakfast nook and gift store in the lobby. But there is NO SECURITY--the person at the security desk doesn't look up when anyone walks in and the elevator doesn't require a keycard to operate. I was shocked! This is Times Square, people!
I've stayed at this hotel for 10+ years when visiting NY City. The location is fabulous, with a gourmet market next door and plenty of fast-arriving ride-hail cars. What really makes the hotel so special are the front-desk staff. They always recognize me, and take care of any requests promptly. These very nice people are like family, and the fact that it's the same staffing year after year tells me hotel management takes good care of its staff and they are happy to work there. Hopefully, new visitors to the hotel will meet Stanley at the front desk - he is king of good service. He really knows his guests and takes care of them as he would his family. A truly remarkable and wonderful person. My favorite room in the hotel is the corner king with queen bed sleeper couch. The room is large for a NY City hotel, and the views of the city life are always entertaining. The windows open, too. Convenient microwave and mini-fridge in the room. Housekeeping staff is cheerful and greets everybody. The hotel is not large by NY standards, but has a comfortable feel to it by not being too big. I'm glad the hotel has finally reopened after the pandemic caused so many hotel closures . Some changes have been made with room amenities, but this is common now throughout the Hilton chain due to the pandemic. If you really need a pen and note paper, for instance, bring your own - you won't find them in the room currently. My room definitely needed another lamp, which was eventually delivered when I requested it. There is one bar of soap for both shower and sink, not the usual two bars per room. The few items I needed in the room, such as extra towels, were brought by housekeeping upon request. The hotel is still a bit short on staff as the pandemic continues, so patience is good to have when requesting things. The hotel is being gently loved to death by its loyal customers, and I hope it will enjoy a renovation in the future. However, it's clean, all the basics are there, and the slightly dated furnishings and dark colors are a minor detail. The fabulous staff more than makes up for how the hotel interior appears now. I always feel protected at this hotel - the lobby bell staff and desk staff know their customers and make sure they are well looked after and safe, especially if one is traveling alone and going out for an event. I feel like a princess when I stay here!…
This place is great! Large room, very large for NYC. Right in the heart of Times Square area. Many theaters and restaurants within a several block walking distance area. Did not use any service besides just the room. Did not have a vehicle to park or use the hotel restaurant. They do have lobby area luggage storage. Stanley at the front desk was especially helpful. No issues at all with my stay here..
Hotel was clean, It was also in a great location, However it was noisy and I thought the room decor could have been more attractive. The Bellman, Charles, was very helpful. I love the fact that check out was at noon.
This hotel is in a prime location, walking distance to Times Square and Rockefeller Center. In addition, it’s close to public transit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend staying here!
