The Park Lane Hotel NY, celebrated for its unique and elegant atmosphere, sits in a coveted location near Central Park, favored by guests for its convenience and stunning views. While the hotel's service receives mixed reviews—from commendable to disappointing—and concerns about noise and cleanliness are noted, the spacious rooms with their impressive vistas remain a highlight.
However, some travelers feel the hotel doesn't provide good value, citing overpriced breakfasts and additional fees against a backdrop of outdated decor and lacking amenities.

Hotel's Favourite
The Park Lane was the perfect winter girls getaway! From the beautifully appointed decor in the lobby, to the kind and welcoming front desk team, to Sergio, Serena and the Concierge team, our stay was outstanding.
The concierge team accommodated a special request for a gluten free dessert celebrating my friend’s birthday with grace and panache. The Park Lane attends to guests’ personal requests and creates a blissful, welcoming atmosphere.
Frankly other boutique and specialty hotels provide similar level of service - but it often seems forced. At the Patk Lane the hospitality seems embedded in the culture to put guests at ease.
The decor reflects the natural beauty of NYC’s Central Patk and Lewis Carrol’s Alice in Wonderland theme - which us endearing, charming (even to the beautiful nature wall art, Immersive sights and bird sounds on the television. You feel transported to a magical cozy spot - which appeals to adults and children.
While the price point may be reserved for “splashing out” the Park Lane was worth it!

I walked in the door, turned the wrong way into Cat at the reception desk and instead of pointing me to the front desk check-in she basically made me feel like O was the only one in the hotel at that moment and helped me get situated and comfortable while checking in. It didn't stop there...from the front desk to everyone I passed by...just so helpful, pleasant and non-pretentious. The hotel facade is GORGEOUS with a 70s font branding that helps it stand out. Being literally across the street from Central Park, it's like you walk from there into the chic high end "park owner's mansion" for a chance to stay in one of her hundreds of warm & inviting good-sized rooms!! TYSM!! I really enjoyed the latin old fashioned at the 2nd floor bar as well as their burgers. I needed just slightly more flavor in the lobster spaghetti but of course I cleaned the plate still :) For room service, the Avocado Toast was great whereas the pancakes were a little too dry for the 2 mornings I tried them. All my other coworkers highly enjoyed everything they ordered at the restaurant and one other had the same "dry" pancake experience.
I know room rates will probably vary but regardless I can promise it won't matter because you'll be super happy with the service, the welcoming decor, view, designer bathroom, and the hotel location is just *chefs kiss*!! Thank you Park Lane!

My husband and I had stayed at the Park Lane Hotel on Central Park South on two previous trips to New York. It is a lovely hotel with amazing views of Central Park. During these prior stays, we were upgraded to a higher floor with a park view at no charge.
This time I was traveling by myself and had booked the hotel for a week's stay to visit friends there. Little did I know that this was the same week the United Nations General Assembly was meeting and the hotel was almost completely full and area around it was very busy and with congested traffic. I was still greeted pleasantly when I arrived and, when I asked about an upgrade, was told the hotel was almost full and they had only a junior suite with a park view available, which they could give for a small extra charge, much less than the regular rate. I took it!
During my entire weeklong stay, the front desk staff were always friendly, accommodating and helpful. And the housekeeper on my floor, Yubelkys, was lovely and did a wonderful job. Likewise Marie and Leo, two of the staff in the Grab and Go on the first floor where I got breakfast 5 days, were so nice and provided efficient and friendly service. The front desk staff and doormen were also quite amiable!
My only problem was the room temperature being too cold. After reporting it the first day, maintenance came up (while I was gone) and turned off the thermostat and left a portable heater. I really did not need the heat on but just could not get the temperature in the room above 68° no matter how much I increased the temperature, even up yo 83°. The last couple of days, it did get colder outside and I took advantage of the heater. What I finally learned the day before I left was that the rooms cannot be change from air conditioning to heat. The entire building must be changed and that doesn't occur until October.
The hotel's location is perfect for getting around to various parts of the city and has great views and excellent service. Since I was last there they did a total renovation during COVID (2020-21) so it now has a more modern and upbeat atmosphere vs. the previous more traditional and conservative style.
Even with the issue of the room temperature, which never has happened before, I will stay at the hotel again when I am in New York in the future.

This has been my worst hotel experience at this price point ever. I highly recommend that you find another hotel in the area and avoid park lane.
Not only is the service terrible, but the rooms are very basic, dirty, and lack even the most basic amenities. The rooms have no kettle, no coffee machine (only offered at an extra cost of 35$ DAILY and they make bad coffee), no slippers, and do not offer space suitable for anyone who is traveling on business and needs to work. The internet is also horrible and cuts out all the time.
The rooms are very dark and bathrooms very small. Water pressure is bad and the heating/ax system is very loud and old. Further, the windows are single pane and you hear a lot of street noise (even on the 43 floor).
Despite repeated complaints about lack of cleanliness (including an incredible amount of dust to which I am allergic, as well as old contact lenses, other peoples fingernails, bits of food, etc on the floors) the room was never regularly cleaned properly. We had to leave handwritten notes reminding the staff to dust, leave clean mugs, leave new soap, etc. To top this off, the manager, staff at the front desk, and room service staff were all very unhelpful.
Don’t bother wasting your money on this hotel for the location, there are other nice places in the area.

Best thing to advise is to manage your expectations.
We spent a fortune on this hotel expecting it to be a luxury all the frills hotel but we were disappointed from the first day.
We paid $800 extra for a “Park View” expecting to be able to see the tree top view of the park. Instead we got the 5th floor view of the bottom of the trees. I get it’s still a park view but not what the pictures lead you to believe you’ll get.
We had a complimentary cheese board arrive on day one and on day four it was still sat on the side waiting for housekeeping to take it away.
We are fortunate to not have to look at prices but even we wouldn’t spent $50 on a child’s breakfast it’s extortion.
The staff are pleasant enough but unless you’re dripping in Gucci you won’t get the 5* experience.
The mini bar in the room is empty not even a bottle of water.
The rooms are decorated nicely but the mattresses are to small for the bed frames which looks odd and cheap. The pillows are awful and basically just bags of air. The bathrooms are basic.
Unfortunately won’t be returning, we’d rather pay the extra at the plaza or ritz and get the full 5* experience

Greetings, We're sorry to hear that your stay at Park Lane Hotel New York didn't meet your expectations. It's unfortunate your room location and the view didn't match what you envisioned. Regarding the untouched cheese board, we acknowledge the inconsistency in our housekeeping service and appreciate your patience. Also, we understand your critical feedback about our pricing and the quality of our amenities, including the mattress and pillows. Subtle details make the difference in creating a luxurious experience, and we're taking your feedback to heart. Our team strives to deliver an impeccable service to all our guests, irrespective of their attire. If it seemed otherwise, we certainly need to address that. We regret to hear of your decision not to return, but should you reconsider, we would love the opportunity to provide the 5-star experience that you rightly expect. Thank you for your valuable feedback. Warm Regards Robert Macneil

Great time at this perfectly located hotel. My husband and I booked the Park Lane for a first time tourist trip to NYC. The staff here are all so accommodating and welcoming, ask and you shall receive. Americo checked us in and was so kind, he upgraded us to a Central Park view room which was spectacular. The views of the Park are incredible-the first night there was a mild thunder and lightening storm that lit up the city skyline and we were in awe as we sat in our chairs by the window of the 15th floor. The location of this hotel allows for easy access to most anything you want to experience. I wanted to be close to museums like the MET and Central Park, but we easily walked from the Park Lane to the High Line, Times Square and back.
Our experience here was top notch. Any minor hiccup, ie our TV remote control wasn’t working, was handled promptly. Housekeeping each day was thorough. Bathrooms were small and well appointed, the Park View King room very spacious, and those views of the Park and city skyline never cease to amaze.
I highly recommend the Park Lane for a pleasure trip to NYC and will stay again in the future. The staff delivers excellent service in a prime location.

I was already not super fond of the hotel as I found that it lacks too many basic amenities
For one, there is no working desk whatsoever - all you get is a tiny stool-like side table that is impossible to use without kneeling on the floor. The room also completely lacks any tea or coffee maker - their excuse is that luxury hotels no longer have them, which is preposterous as I stay at Park Hyatt and Four Seasons and they all have them. Instead, you need to room order your tea...which comes with 6usd tray surcharge, ridiculous. The view of Central Park is nice and the location is convenient, so I was going to be nice and give the hotel at least a 3 stars, but then, 2 days after I left, suddenly I found that the hotel has made an unauthorized charge on my credit card. This was ridiculous as when I checked out, I was told everything was cleared and there were no charges. So when I called the hotel reception to find out what the charge was, they said they didn't know and that they would fix this. It has been a week after and the charge has not been withdrawn. It is the first time ever that I am charged without a) knowing about the charge, or what it was even for b) any notice by the hotel when I was checking out, or given a bill. This is truly appalling, and I definitely want to warn others before they book with this extremely unprofessional establishment.

In our numerous trips to and through the inimitable New York City, we seek a certain quality of accommodations. We visit 2-3 times a year and typically spend between $700-$1,000/night (depending on the season). This time, with Central Park as our backdrop, we were drawn to a boutique hotel, its digital persona on Instagram evoking elegance and promise.
Upon arrival, the bustling Manhattan weekend rendered our early check-in desires unmet, but such is the pace of this vibrant city. Come late afternoon, we were ensconced in a room that exuded contemporary with touches of Asian aesthetics, complemented by a delightful fruit ensemble and local Saratoga bottled waters.
The pièce de résistance, without a doubt, is the @darlingrooftop. Overlooking Central Park, it offers an ambience second to none, though I'd proffer a piece of advice: ensure reservations are made in advance for this coveted experience.
However, every experience has its ebbs and flows. The room's temperate atmosphere was notably warmer than preferred due to the A/C unit being down, a shortfall that seemed somewhat incongruous given the substantial nightly rate of $700/nt. While the hotel's diligent staff attempted to ameliorate the situation with a fan, the ambiance was not quite what one might expect for the investment.
Morning beckoned with a rather utilitarian breakfast offering. For those inclined towards a more distinctive start to the day, a brief excursion to Sip + Co and the nearby Liberty Bagel would be time well spent.
While our “guaranteed” 4pm checkout unfortunately not honored leavings us rushed to take off much earlier than we had planned, and so, we ventured forth.
While elements of our stay were undeniably commendable, at a rate of $700 per night, our expectations were regrettably not fully realized. As such, our experience can be best described as a solid 3/5, with @darlingrooftop being a noteworthy exception that does warrant a visit.

We understand how memorable experiences can shape a trip, especially in energetic New York City, hence the special attention to details such as the fresh fruit ensemble and local waters. We acknowledge there were setbacks during your visit, including your room's temperature being above your preference due to an issue with the A/C. Also, we understand your breakfast and check-out experiences did not match expectations. These aspects are certainly not the standards we aspire to. Your feedback is essential in refining our offerings and services. We are committed to ensuring every guest has an overall memorable experience. Despite the downsides, we are glad you enjoyed certain features of your stay. We look forward to an opportunity to entirely satisfy your needs in the future. Rest assured, our team will work diligently to make your next visit more comfortable and enjoyable. Warm Regards Robert Macneil

My wife and I both work for a big company and often have executives coming to town. We chose Park Lane thinking it was a 4.5 star hotel opposite of central park but the service has been far from that. We requested early check in and though I understand this is due to availability nothing was done to accommodate my meeting hours (even though I exaplained at check in I would only be back by 9pm) , I had to stop by 3 times to follow up on my request of a better room at a cleaner area, I was told all those time that I was going to receive a call from reception and I never did. Numerous days the trash was left in the room, the towls weren't folded or dried and the room temperatured was not fixed, we got to a freezing cold room (winter time in NY). The bellman put the sticker on my bag handle and it didn't come off, the bold guy that works at reception in the afternoon / evening hours was rude numerous times and I will make sure never to have an executive from our company stay at this hotel again. A hotel facing central park and right next to the Plaza and 5th avenue should've been a thousand times better than what you offered. Awful experience. For the price you can DEFINITELY get a better place

The hotel is in a great location and room sizes are good.
Beds are very comfortable. Unfortunately we didn’t get our room tidied or turned down regularly. We had to call to request this.
Air conditioning unit very loud.
Staff pleasant and willing to help.
Bathrooms are small and for some reason our bath water was brown. I mentioned it to the receptionist and showed her a photo, she said that isn’t usually the case. Not very pleasant for our stay though.
Temperature is unusually warm in the building at the moment. Many guests have said the same thing.
Breakfast is limited. There is a kiosk type offering in the lobby area otherwise it’s a 75 dollar per person breakfast on the rooftop terrace. For a five star hotel there could be a more comfortable offering for hotel guests.
The lobby bar is open to everyone (not just hotel residents) so getting a quiet drink in the evening is impossible. The bar is small and get very very busy.
Similarly the rooftop bar is open to the public so there is a big queue to get in and unless you know to book every table will be reserved.
Lots of big groups. Very social and lively hotel.
Overall the hotel is fine, but I don’t think it warrants its 5 star status. The hotel needs a bit of tlc and they could pay more attention to resident only facilities.

Greetings E9115BTpamelar, Your feedback provides important insights that help us understand where we can improve. We're glad to hear about the positive aspects of your stay like our strategic location, spacious rooms, and comfortable beds. However, we understand you had an issue with room cleanliness and apologize that it required follow-up on your end. Noise from the air conditioning unit also seems to have caused some discomfort, which we regret. We appreciate your comments about our team members' willingness to assist, and are sorry to hear about your experience with the water color - this is indeed abnormal and not a typical occurrence. Also, we've taken note of your comment about the building temperature and breakfast options. We understand that having more exclusive spaces for the hotel guests to unwind and socialize could enhance your stay, and we appreciate your thoughts on improving our offerings to befit our 5-star status. Your constructive thoughts will be valuable in enhancing the experiences for all our guests, and we appreciate your honesty. We hope to welcome you back in the future to show you the improvements made. Warm Regards Robert Macneil

No, they don’t. Only some of them.
You can enjoy a magnificent view from the terrace where they serve breakfast. But don’t take breakfast there because they charge you 70usd each, plus taxes.
And the breakfast is not at all a special one, just a normal one😉
No, there are 2 sides of the building
I am sure most of the hotels do, just check if they charge any fee for collecting and keeping the package on your behalf.
