I would highly recommend this hotel due to the staff at the front desk, the staff at restaurant, and the house keeping staff. Everyone was nice and responsive to our needs. In addition, it’s right next to Time Square and next to the major subway station at 42nd. The decor was dark and sexy, so I wouldn’t recommend it for kids. There is parking next door at a reasonable price and the rooms are not bad if you are looking to spend your time out and about. I would stay here again.

My daughter and I visited from Memphis,TN in March 2019 for spring break to see Broadway.
The hotel was very nice and accommodating.
Most memorable was the accommodating and informative concierge, Patrick! He was a wealth of knowledge regarding Broadway and places to dine, and always greeted us with a smile.
We came back a year later for spring break once again, and he even remembered us from the previous year!
We will definitely stay at Night on our next visit to NYC!

The hotel NIGHT created a New York experience I will never forget. I do travel a lot and I have stayed at many of the best hotels in NYC but NIGHT hotel will be my home away from home in NY from now on! Upon arriving at NIGHT, the exterior of this hotel makes you think of the color of the sky at dusk. It has oversized black front doors, progressive dance music playing outside and well-groomed bellmen dress in chic black. When you arrive you get a feeling as if you should be behind a velvet rope waiting to enter the hottest nightspot in town. Once inside, the lobby is just as cosmopolitan and chic. Black walls, wonderful black and white photography, perfect chic furniture, and the most unbelievable front desk staff you will ever encounter. First everyone that works here is attractive and friendly. They are all dressed in black and white. When checking in, the front desk was overly friendly. I have never been at a hotel that had such a professional and friendly staff. During my check in, the lady at the front desk that was checking me in (Anastasia Meehan) asked me what I was going to be doing during my stay. I told her I had tickets to a few shows and had been trying for over a month to get tickets for one show in particular. She told me she would contact a few people and see if she could help me. The front desk also made sure to honor every single request I had for my room. Upon reaching my room the hallways played light progressive dance music as well and the numbers for the doors were on a monitor screen instead of just numbers posted on the wall. It was one of those added touches that let you know you were staying somewhere special. My room was amazing! The pictures do not do these rooms justice! Beautiful carpeting with the hotel logo on them, plasma televisions on the wall, amazingly soft mattresses were in the most unique beds I have ever stayed in, very cosmopolitan wallpaper, and an awesome soft black mosaic tiled bathroom with a rainfall shower head. The only part of the décor I did not enjoy as much was that the shower had a small glass partition but did not have a door to the shower. It did look cool but was not very good at keeping the water in the actual shower. Other than that, there was not one single thing about this room I would change. The décor of this hotel is absolutely beautiful and designed with a style very accommodating for all people but it is defiantly a hotel with a chic younger person in mind.

After I had been here for two days, I received a phone call from the front desk and the lady that checked me in (Anastasia) informed me that she found tickets to the completely sold out show I was wanting to see and that I had a choice of front row, center orchestra, center seat or 8th row center orchestra, center seat. The tickets were at regular price also and not some crazy premium price. I could not believe this! She worked on getting me those tickets for two days!!! This staff goes well above the marks of any hotel staff I have ever seen in my life. Anytime I walked past the front desk on my way out of the hotel, whoever was at the front desk always knew my name and would say, “Have a good day (or evening) Mr. Hill” The fact that they remembered my name the whole time I was there shows the steps above and beyond that this hotel takes to make sure that there guest have a unique experience. They even give everyone staying at the hotel their own personal business cards during check-in that have their name and “in residence” on them.

From now on, I will never stay at another hotel when in NYC. The most interesting fact about this hotel is that they have still not had their official grand opening as of yet. If the service is this wonderful now, I cannot imagine how they could possibly top their customer service upon their official opening. Kudos to you NIGHT. You have a new regular!

I booked the hotel for 3 nights.
Overall It was not a very comfortable stay.
First, location is nice but can be very hectic since it’s too busy and fussy since there is too many tourists in this area.

Cleaness and management was below my expectations.( what I expect for the 4star hotels)
There was lots of human hair on the bathrobe. So l asked them to change it twice since there was hair on the second robe too.
And the carpet was spotty the bathroom faucets were lose.
Bed linens were too old had scratch feeling flakes on them.
There were too many holes in the closet.
The room is too dark and it’s lack of lighting. I had trouble with adjusting the lights.
There were facility fee which included gym outside the building but never instructed by anyone.
When I check out I told the front desk about these issues but they only told me to email them.
When I email them they refused to accept what happened and did not apologized.
They keep saying that there were no evidence for that.
So I will share the photo of evidence here.

This isn't a hotel, it's a festering sore on the Upper West Side. The block is the worst in the city, the main reason for that is this hotel. You can't walk past the Night Hotel without being offered drugs, screamed at, or forced to step over someone passed out on the sidewalk. If I were travelling to New York for a trip and didn't know better, the Night Hotel might seem like a good deal, but take my advice and avoid it at all costs. You'd be better off sleeping on a bench in the Port Authority bus terminal than making the trip to west 94th st. It's dirty, dingy, and dangerous, and should be shut down for good.

We booked the penthouse here for two nights to stay after our cruise from NYC to Canada and back to NYC. We were so excited to stay here and have our own terrace in NYC!! This was a huge part of the trip we were very much looking forward. We called a month or two ahead and paid for the whole stay in full and even verified that once we got there we would not have to pay anything so we can plan our expenses accordingly. Come the day of flying to NYC from FL we land in NYC only to find out we have NO ROOM!!!!! Imagine flying to a new state for the first time with two young children to find out the hotel you have the confirmation for has canceled on you with absolutely no head up or warning. They somehow "lost the card on file" and could not help us any further. We had to book a last-minute hotel 30 minutes out of the city luckily they weren't fully booked out. The hotel manager had zero remorse for what happened they said over and over there is nothing they can do to help us.

How many times can you be told, "Sorry for the inconvenience..." before it loses it's effect? And nothing is done or rectified nor offered for the numerous inconveniences.

The Night Hotel, located at 132 w. 45th St, New York City, NY, is listed as a 4 star hotel on different discount sites... I have to give them credit and say my room was decorated nicely, but everything else fell short. WAY SHORT! I felt as if I was at a 1 star hotel. I stayed 3 nights.

The problems started with my early arrival... I had been informed the hotel wasn't full, but was still denied an early check in. I happened to be there the weekend NYC got hit by record-breaking snowfall and freezing temperatures. I told myself to think more diplomatically and that "rules are rules." But after being made to wait close to 4 hrs before being allowed to my room, my diplomacy was worn rather thinly. They were rather firm about not letting me get my room until exactly 3:00pm. The elevator was not working... I was on the 3rd floor. Not an easy walk up or down with 2 heavy bags. And the 24-hour room service... was NOT currently in service.

The internet access they advertised turned out to be dial-up and they wouldn't provide username or password to access the ISP they "offered." They kept telling me to go to Starbucks down the block and they would pay for it after bringing them my receipt. I expected to be able to enjoy the "comfort" of my room while on the net. But how dare I have such a sense of entitlement and think that in 2006 I'd be able to use my laptop in my hotel room.

The 3 nights I was there, my room was NEVER cleaned any of the days I was checked in. On the second day, my key didn't open the door to my room, so I was required to trudge back downstairs and have my key recoded. The room lacked any of the basic amenities such as stationary, ashtray (for my requested smoking room), shelf to put soap in shower, (had to keep bending down to shower floor to get soap/shampoo). And everytime I used the shower, the bathroom floor flooded due to the stall only having partial glass and the rest being open. I can say in their favor that they did provide the bathroom with 2 extra towels, but now suspect they were most likely placed there to mop up the floor. The vent to the heater/ac was quite loud and vibrated everytime the unit was on. I needed to readjust the volume to the TV based on whether the unit was on or off.

I noticed a staff member was using the room across the hall from mine and let the door to the room slam shut as he went in and out. I could hear distinct conversations of other guests in their rooms while I was in mine and could hear their phones ring. I need to point out our doors were closed... YIKES!

After having to pay for this terrible experience, I felt compelled to warn others to find much better accomidations elsewhere. I thought I would feel better venting about the annoying conditions I mustered through at the Night Hotel, but it just made me feel cheated by the whole experience. And complaining to the staff only offered me the pat reply of, "Sorry for the inconvenience..." I hope no one else has to pay for a room here and have to be put through the same NIGHT-mare.

To my fellow Tripadvisor readers, Best of luck and best wishes to you on your business or pleasure trip!

Patrick at the front desk was absolutely awesome!!!!!!! Now that I got that out of the way, let's talk about this amazing hotel. I booked this hotel to celebrate my anniversary, and wanted a unique hotel experience. Upon entering you are greeted with the sexiest decor I've ever seen in a hotel. Additionally, there are beautiful black and white images that are not for the kiddies, but add to the sex appeal of the hotel. There is music playing in the halls as you walk to your room. Upon entering, you will notice the eluminated bed... Again SEXY!!!!!! The room was small, but that is what you will encounter in any NYC hotel. The room was exceptionally clean, which is very important to me and my fiancé. The location can be beat, just a block away from the bright lights of Time Square.

The restaurant in the hotel was outstanding, as well. It's an Asian Fusian restaurant and very reasonably priced. Seriously, I've stayed at hundreds of hotels over the years and this is definitely at the top oft lost.

This is a great place to stay! Great location, lots of places for a quick bite nearby...but most important for my wife, CLEAN!

Yes, the rooms are small, and I had their smallest room (only a double bed). But it's not any smaller than, say, on a cruise ship. It was a shock when we first opened the door, but after a few minutes, we arranged the suitcases on the desks and foot stool and we were fine. But we only slept and showered in the room. We left early every morning and came back around midnight. So the size of the room was not important.

Yes, the shower door only goes halfway across the stall, but as everyone else says in their reviews, not a big deal. The hotel gave us plenty of towels and it was never a problem. BTW, the hairdryer is stored under the sink. The bathroom was cleaned and fresh, soft towels provided everyday.

The big flat screen on the wall was great, as well as the Bose Wave CD/radio. The bed was made up everyday, and turned down down at night with the mood lighting set low and some smooth jazz playing quietly on the radio.

We didn't try the cafe in the hotel. Instead, we went a half a block towards 6th Avenue to a little deli called the Cranberry Deli. They have great made-to-order or buffet breatfast, lunch, or dinner...and they make their own pizza. And very cheap! There's a Starbucks a few steps towards Times Square.

There are only two negatives. First, the lobby has photos of nearly nude women in masks that aren't for the prude (like me). It was a bit shocking. The pictures on the hotel website are far enough away that you can't really make out what's on the walls. (I took some photos of these lobby pictures, but after reading the criteria for posting photos, they're not considered "family-friendly"...so I didn't put them up). It made for a good laugh when we met our friends in the lobby. Not a huge deal, but I wouldn't bring children to the lobby or my mother-in-law. The other negative (for me) may not apply to the rest of the year, but the cafe and bar off the lobby was Party City! Now, the first night we arrived at 12:45 am the day after Christmas and it was dead quiet. But the next night, there was a party downstairs until 1:30 am. Then it went until 2 am the next night after that, and later every night until New Years Eve...when it went on until 4 am. They even pump the music into speakers to the sidewalk just outside the hotel to attract people looking for a fun time. But as I said...it might just be that time of year becuse our first night was so quiet.

Still, I would highly recommend this hotel to couples who are in New York for sightseeing. Quick access to subways, the Greyline bus tours, and Broadway shows. We only used a taxi to and from JFK airport. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. They had a cab ready for me when I checked out and were always asking if there was anything I needed.

Hi, are there hairdryers and irons in the rooms?
Answer from Andrzej E

I am not sure if there are hair dryers in the rooms. I understand your problem with our electrical outlets and voltage. I travel, frequently to Europe and have adapter plugs and the devices I use are usually 120/240 volts, sometimes with a switch on the appliance. There are several shops on Times Square that have adapter plugs and perhaps reasonable voltage converters. ENJOY your trip to NYC!

Hey. We where in an Queen Superior room 11/2018 2 adults and 11y daughter. Queen Superior bed were 140cm wide, too small to fit everybody in it. They did charge us 25$/night(ordinary 50$/night)for the rollaway bed. We did for 6 nights. Rollaway bed is quite low, its an normal folding bed. Maybe 30 cm high. I hope this helps You. I did write how We did have.
