Ink 48 Hotel offers a blend of stylish yet sometimes dated rooms, according to guests. While many appreciate the hotel's cleanliness and scenic views, the value is often questioned due to hidden fees and the cost of amenities. Service quality varies, with reports of both friendliness and unresponsiveness from the staff. The location is well-regarded for its proximity to attractions, despite noise concerns. However, travelers are frustrated by the lack of coffee makers in rooms and additional amenity charges.

I've stayed a few times in a Hudson Suite at Ink48, albeit not since winter 2017.

Was excited to return in January 2020. The Hudson Suites are as lovely as ever, with floor to ceiling windows and views of the Hudson, capacious closet space (a seeming rarity in New York, even with suites), a huge bathroom and an attractive layout.

However, if you are sensitive to noise, you might want to check on the status of construction as during my visit there was excavation going on between the hotel and the river, including on Saturdays. The drilling jolted me awake at 7:00 a.m. each morning (particularly awful the first morning when I had arrived well after 2:00 a.m.) and the drilling started at 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays. Sunday was mercifully an off day for construction.

Other than the construction, the stay was fine. The hotel charges the same ridiculous "resort fee" that every other hotel in New York now charges, but at least at Ink48 I got something useful for the fee -- a $10 daily credit for room service or the hotel restaurant (albeit not for the mini-bar). However, I just checked the hotel's website and I do not see anything about the food credit, so maybe they took that away, which would be a shame, because it does make you feel less resentful about the resort fee.

I do quite like staying in Hell's Kitchen, especially now that Hudson Yards is open, which is a few blocks south of the hotel. I wasn't that impressed with Sullivan Street Bakery, which is down the street from the hotel, but some people like it.

Hello AnywhereUSA1! Thank you for your candid review on your recent trip to Ink48! I am so very sorry about the noise! The construction site that is across the street from the hotel is only active during the day - from 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday - Saturdays 8am-4pm. And fortunately the construction will be over in the next 2 weeks. Also we really do pride ourselves on over-the-top customer service - we hope you would consider giving us a second chance. We really are far better then this and hope we can prove it to you. Please contact me directly so I can make amends on your poor visit! We finished off our trip to New York State with a night at the Kimpton Ink48 and I will admit to preferring it over the Intercontinental Times Square where we stayed a few days prior. The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square but has very easy access to the Hudson River Park footpath. It overlooks the Intrepid Sea and Air museum. With a room on a high floor overlooking the river, you can have great views of the displayed aircraft.

Check in was very friendly and efficient. We booked a Hudson Suite. Although not cheap it was very spacious with a separate bedroom and living area. The latter had a sofa bed but the two are open plan - there is no divider between them. With floor to ceiling windows the view across the river is panoramic.

The suite also had a spacious bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub, and complimentary Atelier Bloem amenities. The hotel also has a great rooftop area with a bar. In the middle of summer this was packed with both residents and visitors. There are great views over the city from the top.

Another highlight is the hotel’s restaurant, PRINT. The food was exceptional and service friendly and attentive. The staff were also very knowledgeable.

Although not the most central hotel on Manhattan, I loved the location. It was a lot calmer than areas around Times Square and I loved the access to the Hudson River Park footpath which you can follow pretty much all the way down to Battery Park; a walk I thoroughly enjoyed!

I would highly recommend the Kimpton Ink48 and will gladly return.

This hotel is located in hells kitchen
We love walking and found location very good 5 to 10 min walk in the highline 15 to 20 to time square. Hotel has a beautiful roof top terrace .Rooms are spacious modern and very comfortable. Staff is amazing. Restaurant makes great Espresso coffees
Only negative is the staff at the roof top terrace ..Service is a bit sketchy it's like they are making you a favor by serving you. I M guessing its outsourced for 2 reasons .1 the service does not match the rest of the hotel and 2 I wasn't able to charge tour drinks to our room account. Nevertheless worth going to see the view up there

I’d like to start this review by saying I run my own travel business and spend a lot of time travelling in hotels so
I don’t take writing a review like the lightly but I have never experienced service like I experienced here and especially in a New York hotel who’s service tends to be second to none.

We arrived after 11 hours of travelling no one opened a door for us or offered to help with bags ,a service that I normally would expect as standard in New York. Our room was a city view suite though the only view was straight in to the flats opposite. The suite it’s self was beautiful and is the only reason I won’t give the hotel a 1* rating as they rooms themselves are lovely despite the lack of city view but a hotel is a bout more than just that.

The room had no refreshments at all in the mini fridge , no water, no soft drinks nothing which after a long flight when you are dehydrated and thirsty and haven’t been offered a welcome drink is far from ideal. I went down to the reception to ask if this was a mistake or where in the hotel we could get a drink from and was told nowhere for the next 2 hours there is no vending machine after the bar is closed there is nowhere on the premises to get a drink which is obviously very inconvenient. The staff did unhelpfully suggest I drink out of the tap. We decided we would get ready and head up to the rooftop bar but were unfortunately told that wasn’t an option as it’s fully booked and reservations are required (information the would have been helpful at the time of booking) we asked if reception could book us in for some point on our stay and were told no we were told “the 2 bursinesses aren’t connected in anyway so you would need to go online and do it yourself” which seemed crazy as if they aren’t in anyway connected why are all the hotels photos of the rooftop bar? I went to go online to book but ofcourse WiFi isn’t complimentary is a $20 per day charge which in a high end hotel I just didn’t expect. We were left feeling so disappointed the next day we were out all day and returned to the room to find their had been no turn down service and no fresh towels provided. At this point I decided to raise my issues with the hotel only to find that the phone in the room was broken. So I sent an email which was never acknowledged by the hotel all we received in the way of knowing they had got it was fresh towels in the room the following day but still no turn down service.

I’ve stayed in a hotels under a range of budgets and never had these issues which is shocking as it’s not a budget hotel. I won’t be recommending to any customers. It could be a lovely hotel if the service matched the rooms and the room descriptions were correct tight now the hotel feels very much like a budget hotel masquerading as something more high end

We were astounded by the size and quality of our massive and sleek, modern room — which featured sky-high ceilings and a sweeping city view — given the modest price we paid. The room was huge and decorated mostly in black and white with a cool, artsy vibe. Everything, from the furniture to the bedding, seemed pristine and new. The king-size bed was ultra-comfy too. PLUS we were allowed to bring along our dog, free of charge! The Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood was surprisingly lively late on a Sat. night. We will definitely stay here again... and again.

We arrived on a Sunday around 2:50 pm (check in was at 3pm). We were hoping to drop our bag in our room because we had a 3:30 appointment in Times Square. We were told that our room wasn’t ready yet and instead of being offered an upgrade, we were offered a downgrade (with no price reduction except for a waived “activity fee”). For obvious reasons we chose too wait for our room since we had paid extra for a “city view”. When our room was finally ready, we were disappointed to find that the city view that we had paid for was a view of a construction zone. Not only that, but we were now paying full activity fee and the rooftop bar was closed for a private party. The room itself was comfortable and clean. The bed was great. But I will note that with construction comes loud noise... starting at 6am. So overall, if given the chance to redo our stay, I would have chosen a different hotel.

Originally booked 2 rooms/3 nights at TRYP Hotel/Times Square (via Hotwire). TRYP cancelled our reservation THE DAY OF CHECKIN, and offered a sub par replacement. Hotwire helped us to rebook at INK 48. Totally satisfied with INK 48. Some services were a bit limited due to Covid, but rooms were fine and location was walking distance to restaurants and bodegas. Overall very satisfied with INK 48, would stay here again and recommend to others.

After reading some of the trip advisor reviews before I left, I was quite worried as they weren't very positive.
However apart from trying to contact the hotel before we left the UK (to upgrade our room as my daughter was now staying with us) I could not fault the hotel at all.
On arrival we were welcomed on the door and at reception. Check in was quick and efficient, and the upgrade sorted, and the receptionist explained the extra charges...and you could view them on the account settings on your hotel room tv.

The room was immaculate and the aircon on for us to cool off from the summer heat.
We had a family room with 2 queen sized beds, and the room was spacious with plenty of storage, and it had a large clean bathroom with walk in shower, toilet and sink and big mirror.

The beds were very comfortable and there were extra pillows in the wardrobe if we needed them.
The shower worked well and there were plenty of towels, which were changed daily.

There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, but it was offered in the lobby area every morning from 7-9am ( I think). We didn't use this facility as we bought a travel kettle with us to use.

We did not use the roof top bar as we were busy exploring the city in the day and evening, and as my daughter is under 21, could only go up between 4 and 5pm. However it seemed very popular.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay in New York. We visited the Intrepid museum which was just round the corner from the hotel, and we walked to central park which took about 30 minutes, and the High Line, 5th avenue, Broadway. Everything was within easy reach and there were plenty of taxis to use or we had a 48 hour Topview bus tour ticket to get around the city and to do the boat trip to the Statue of Liberty.

Having worked in hotels after doing my degree in hospitality management, I know how much hard work is involved in working in this sector, so I was keen to do my review and I want to say thank you to all the staff at the INK 48 hotel for a fantastic stay.

Came to NYC for two nights for a birthday party. Booked ink 48 via Amex , which turned out to be a mistake as I paid way more via Amex than what they were offering the rooms on other sites.
Got 100 dollar credit to use for food and beverage however the hotel makes it impossible to spend.
You cant charge food in the restaurant to your room! Which is insane to me !
They also charge an amenity fee for nothing plus you have to pay for WiFi.
Couldn’t get up to the roof top bar tried three times but was full of non guests!
Room wasn’t made up once . I hit the make up room
Button and called down to the front desk twice. In the end I took towels of a cart I found in the hallway , however house keeping banged on my door at 9am on check out day !

Front desk guy I was dealing with had a bad attitude and blamed covid for their lack of any thing.

It’s a shame as this hotel is next to my office so would have been so handy for business trips. Will never go thru the door again and don’t recommend anyone else to bother either

I stayed at the hotel for 2 days, parking was crazy as expected in NYC so the hotel had a offsite parking garage they recommended and was told they would stamp my valet ticket for a 'discounted' price. After 36 hours I walked (no car service to take me) the 7-10 blocks to the garage I parked my car at, only to find out there was no discounted rate as the garage said they are not affiliated with the hotel. Either way I had to pay for my car to get out of the garage. The staff at the front desk barley made eye contact upon check in or check out, the bellmen however we friendly and engaging. They were the true stars of the front end of the hotel. The rooftop bar was a great feature, however again the staff was unengaging and it took 25 mins to get someone's attention to get a drink, please note I left the one bartender after 20 mins to wait at the other end for 5 more mins before getting a hello. The rooms were great, clean, nice, however no cleaning services in between nights. No one came and made the beds or took out the trash, just seems like for the amount of money you're paying taking out the trash daily would be nice. Also it would be nice to have a coffee maker in the room for an early morning cup of coffee but that was lacking as well.
