I was a bit worried about what to expect. My expectations weren't too high as this is a holiday inn express (not some fancy hotel) AND you're in NYC so you know space is tight. Still concerned at check-in with the limited lobby and only...More
Stayed 20/10 to 24/10 to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Arrived very late but check in was very painless. Room on 30th floor that overlooked the city and could see the Hudson river. Room was lovely and warm when we walked in which is just...More
What a bonus to have a hotel offer breakfast in NYC! It was so convenient! Eggs, toast, bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt....And the coffee and tea 24/7 was great after a day spent outside in the cold. The staff was super friendly and helped us use...More
Remember that, it's location is smack bang in the middle of Manhattan, it's going to be tall and thin on space. To anyone visiting and complains of space, what do you expect?
What I will say though, is that greeted by Giovanni on the first...More
We stayed in a room with a king-sized bed. I thought the room was comfortable for 2 nights in the city - enough room for 2 people and a bit of luggage. The room was right next to the elevators, but we didn't hear them....More

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Yes, the breakfast area is awash with plastic plates and cutlery. Very wasteful IMO but there you go. If you want to eat there, go very early. Otherwise it's a zoo of people loading up for and drinks, looking for a place to sit, juggling for positions around the food offerings, and dumping their garbage. If I went back I'd buy some croissants from the French bakery around the corner and make coffee in my room. Or go elsewhere.
