The Mark is housed, as it has always been, in the beautiful, 1927 landmark building at the corner of 77th Street and Madison Avenue. But, inside, the Mark has been completely reimagined, and given new life and identity for the 21st century. Newly reborn, The Mark combines old-world comfort, avant-garde design, up-to-the-minute technology and an unprecedented level of personal service to create the finest five-star hotel of the 21st century. Drawing on the expertise of an extraordinary group of talent – foremost, among them, the designer Jacques Grange, Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, hair stylist Frederic Fekkai and the hotel general manager Olivier Lordonnois – The Mark Hotel is now a beacon of high French style, and modern American technology and comfort. The delights of The Mark are both bold and discreet. The graphic lobby is colorful and convivial, situated with unique objects d’art that surprise and intrigue. Studded in one of New York's most exclusive neighborhoods, The Mark is surrounded by the world's premier museums, shops, restaurants and the splendor of Central Park. The Mark not only surrounds you in luxury and style, it places you at the epicenter of Manhattan’s social and cultural riches. The Mark Restaurant by Jean-Georges, set within The Mark Hotel has received a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator in 2012.

Neighbourhood
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.

Lower floor rooms are beautiful and quiet as long as you do NOT stay in any of the rooms that face Madison Avenue. The whole hotel is immaculatey clean.

No idea as how to help. Send them over to Madison Avenue for deluxe shopping or window shopping. Lots to see. Safe area. The Zadig et Voltaire shop around the corner is really great and has cutting-edge styles, suitable for teens. It is pricey, but tell them maybe they can pay off one purchase over time:) Just teasing, but there is SO MUCH to do in NYC! You are a stone's throw from the Bemelmann's Bar at the Carlyle. I know they are a little old for Madeline, but it is iconic NYC and maybe the bartender will turn a blind eye or give them Shirley Temples. Look for the Madeline paintings all over everything - Bemelmanns paid for his stay that way, back in the day!

Hello, Thank you very much for posting your question. As answered above, we would be delighted to arrange an in-room massage as we do not have a full spa here at The Mark. Please let us know if you have any other questions and I would be happy to assist.

It's probably too late, but go to the Peninsula for spa services. They are spectacular!
