I was calling around, looking for somewhere nice to take the family, and brainstorming about what to do. I called Bahia Resort in San Diego and spoke with Renee. She gave me a great deal and also gave me great ideas about what to do in the area. Speaking with Renee solved all my problems in one phone call. Awesome service!
During these days of COVID, you can’t help but be concerned about travel and spending time at a hotel, but you need not worry if you’re staying here. All employees wore masks at all times, hand sanitizing stations were everywhere, and each time we dined at the wonderful Bahia Cafe, we observed how thoroughly they cleaned after guests departed. It was clear they did all that was humanly possible to guard the health of their guests and employees. The hotel is located in a beautiful area on Mission Bay. There are a little over 300 rooms spread out over many nicely landscaped acres on a peninsula. Other than two four-story buildings—one at each end of the resort—most of the rooms are in one- and two story buildings facing the water on each side. We stayed in a room with two queens overlooking the bay. The room was very clean, with a huge flat-screen tv. The bathroom is small but not an issue. There was a huge porch/balcony. One nice touch was the texting service. You could text questions or requests and receive a quick response. Our first night there we ordered room service since we arrived too late to eat at their restaurant. The person delivering the meal arrived with a tray, which they give you at the door. An employee never needed to enter the room, but housekeeping would bring anything you needed and leave it in a clear plastic bag hanging on your outside door handle. This leads to my one small criticism. We left our food tray outside the door as requested that night we arrived, but it was not picked up for two days. That’s no big deal, except because the rooms open to an outdoor walkway, some animal or bird got into the leftover food and scattered it across the walkway. I had read other reviews saying the same thing happened, so there’s room for improvement in that. It’s a small matter, though, considering all the extra things employees must be doing to keep things clean these days. We dined at the Bahia Cafe for breakfast twice and dinner once on my daughter’s 21st birthday. My compliments to Kona, the server that night, for making it special. The food each time was excellent, and they have a nice selection of reasonably priced wines. We also took advantage of the airport transportation service offered by So Cal Transportation. Ray, the owner/driver, while an independent and not an employee of the hotel, was a great ambassador for the Bahia. He is a friendly, warm person, and I felt like I had made a new friend. The bottom line: the Bahia is a great escape if you need a break from all the craziness and are concerned about safety. Every employee we met always wore a smile and were extremely friendly. You could tell they enjoyed working there, which to me is clear indication of a well-run hotel with management that cares about people. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to San Diego.…
Stayed here for 4 nights recently and had a great time . We had a room with 2 queen beds at far end of resort overlooking the bay which was perfect all round . What better way to start the day by strolling along the beach front on your way to get some Tea /Coffee out near reception which was really good . We had dinner in the Restaurant which was a nice way to finish off the day . Overall what can I say only what a great location and staff were most helpful and friendly at all times .
Making reservations with Diante was extremely easy, fast and he was super friendly to deal with! This was a great way to start out our trip this summer! No better resort in Mission Beach to stay at!!!
I called the Bahia resort to find a last minute room reservation. Peter from the provided outstanding service as I was making my room reservations. He even found a discount code for me. Thank you Peter
I booked our stay for August and if Shakira's customer service is even a tiny fraction of what the resort itself offers as far as customer service, then I'll never stay anywhere else!! I spent hours online looking for a great deal for our family to spend a few nights in SD and only called the Bahia reservations line because I was having trouble finding a room with two beds AND walk out to the bay that wasn't a suite. Ended up booking right then. What an absolute doll and so knowledgeable about both of the properties that I was looking at. Too bad folks can't just have her direct line when they want to book at Bahia or Catamaran in SD!!!!
Well I haven't stayed at the Bahia Resort yet but by the customer service from Shakira I am going to for Sure..... Shakira was so professional and was so patient with me asking alot of questions about the property and making sure I will be satisfied when I bring my family there next year. It sounds Amazing. Shakira walked me through all of the rooms (suites ) that would be the best for my family. I really appreciate that you Shakira went the extra mile answering all of my questions. Thank you!! To start we would like to thank the following folks: The entire cleaning staff. All the front desk folks including, but not limited to, AJ, Tre, .... Boat tour Crew: Captain Anthony, Senior deckhand Kyle, Deckhands Josh and Alejandro, and last- but very impressively not least,- Bartender Zack. This group was extremely hospitable in this time we are now living where many aren't willing to take time to share their craft [literally and figuratively]. All the entrées at the Dockside restaurant were EXCELLENT! (and the drinks : ] Also the catered reception was awesome!! [Ventana room?] Even Mark, the gentleman at the point of first impressions, ... [ the booth dealing with the traffic], was exceptionally polite and patient. Thank you all!! Brian and Sue C. (June 2022) Tucson AZ…
The hotel was really nice and very clean. Cynthia the girl working the desk when we arrived was very friendly, helpful and accommodating making sure we were satisfied with our visit. We would definitely stay here again.
If you have kids and want a vacation that you can have reasonable quality of sleep at night, please avoid this hotel af all cost. We stayed there for four nights with my two kids. Four of us were seriously sleep deprived at the end of the trip: 1) the room has not black out curtain and the hotel leave the balcony lights on during the whole night. I called the front desk multiple times and they said they have no way to turn them off. The room had a beam of light coming in the room the whole night and it also gets super bright since 6am (natural light coming in) 2) as we cannot sleep well at night nor until late morning, we tried to go to bed early but there were events at the beach most of the nights.. we were in building 600 which is not that close to the beach but we can hear the music from the events crystal clear as though the event was next door... We had serious trouble falling asleep until 9pm which is the time the event was over Overall, my two toddlers had horrible horrible experience at the hotel as they are super sleep deprived... Both my husband and I didn't sleep during the nights and our vacation was a hell to us as we had to deal with our own tiredness as well as all the fussiness coming from our super exhausted kids.…
