I recently was in San Diego and thought I’d try the new Pulse Marriott vacation club. This seemed to be a new one for Marriott and wasn’t up to date with the Marriott online app, couldn’t do any requests or checking in/out on the app. The daytime valet and doormen weren’t really

I was pleasantly surprised by this accommodation. Located next to the Gaslight district. Easy walking distance to many restaurants. Quick trips to the Zoo, Legoland, Balboa Park were all in easy reach. The rooms were much more spacious than the typical hotel suite.

We were only here for a night, but we were quite pleased with the room! The living area had plenty of room to spread out, and included a little eating nook and kitchenette. The bathroom was especially spacious. The view was beautiful! The bottled water in the fridge was free,

The hotel is nice, and the stay was fine. The staff could have been more helpful, especially as they didn't message us when our room was ready as they said they would, and then said they'd send something up to the room as an apology but never did. The staff wasn't that

Wide view panoramic "city view".
I lived in L.A., and I lived downtown Seattle, and I stayed in Spokane where the homeless population is very bad. We even have tent cities in Seattle. That being said, I was just in San Diego last week for the 4th of July, and stayed until Friday. Yes the homeless population is bad, they don’t hide like up here in Seattle because they don’t have ditches, and large trees to hide during the day. So day, and night you see homelesss everywhere. Walking around you get a whiff of urine if you’re heading out for breakfast, and watch where you walk because you might step in some. Not fun when wearing flip flops. They won’t bug you, or beg, you’ll just basically be walking by or sitting near. Also, if you’re out late, most likely you’re parked next to someone’s makeshift home, so don’t be alarmed when you get back to your car, if you have to either jump over, or have your honey move the car so you can get in. So if you don’t mind it, just go your merry way enjoying San Diego. However during these desperate times, I made sure my crossbody bag was always have it in front of me, and I check for my iPhone X to make sure it wasn’t snatched at all times. I’m not paranoid, I’m aware because I had an iPhone snatched from my purse in Seattle.

When charged $42/day for valet parking, I think that should include gratuity.

Hello, are you family friendly ? Traveling with 3 children 10 years and older. Thank you.
Yes the hotel is family friendly! The only thing about having kids are if your walking there are a lot of homeless people all around. The best way to get around is to Uber. Very simple to do. Stan H.
