Everything this about this hotel deserves 5 stars 🌟. From the front desk customer service to the friendly staff on site. I stayed 1 week and housekeeping was amazing well trusted they came in every day changed out my bedding and towels even swept the sand tracked in from the beaches. Maintenance filled our cover with ice before leaving. Also we got fresh towels while at the pool. Beds are comfy, pillows are nice and fluffy, restaurant and waffle place were delicious, and the service was amazing. Parking was just a little difficult when you get back late to hotel other then the best hotel with best prices.
The room was small and outdated, but it was clean and that's all we cared about. A place to crash at night that clean. Beds were made daily and fresh towels provided. Didn't go to pool, but it looked clean. Parking was free!!! Waffle Spot was delicious.
If you are looking for an above 3-star hotel, then Kings Inn is not the place. However, it is clean, welcoming, quiet, safe hotel with great price and location. It is at the San Diego Hotel Circle, with many other hotels. Very easy to access to many tourist places. The front desk is very friendly and helpful. Room is small and dated. But, clean and comfortable. Stayed for two nights. Recommend it.
Clean but a little out dated. Bathroom area was small. It was a good room and location right outside San Diego. You are right next to Old town and 10 minutes from La Jolla. Staff were friendly. I would stay here again.
For the cost, having free parking (although their website says it will cost $15 starting in Sept), no resort fee, heated pool, and onsite restaurants, it was totally worth it. Location is fairly central with lots of restaurants nearby and right next to the freeway. I booked a superior room, but it had the older night table with no outlets, so that was a little disappointing. The bathroom is small, but had everything we needed. Yes, a microwave in the room would be nice, but having to heat up food in the laundry room really isn't a huge hassle. And anyone who books through a third party website really should do their own research before complaining about no elevator, especially if that's a major factor for you. Overall, definitely a comfortable place to stay!
For a quick trip to San Diego, you can't go wrong with the Kings Inn. Clean & spacious room, cool pool area, easy parking, restaurant on-site and a very pleasent staff. Excellent location close to everything.
Stayed here for 4 nights and it was great! The hotel is near from everything fun. The staffs are nice and the room that i got was fixed cleaned so often. I just hope that there’s complimentary breakfast included with the stay. I would likely recommend this place.
Best kept secret in hotel circle. Reasonable price for a clean hotel room and free parking?!?! On site restaurant for a good diner style breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Older place with kitschy charm. This is my new go to hotel in San Diego. If you want fancy, this is not it - but if you want a less expensive, hassle free place to sleep, this is the place.
Overall, I would have to say that the hotel has done a good job of making a "mid-20th century" hotel livable in a 21st century world. However, I was DEEPLY disappointed upon check-in because my wife can NOT do stairs and our room was on the second floor of a hotel with NO ELEVATOR. We had reserved a room with a king bed through Hotels.com and were NOT NOTIFIED that there was no elevator. We had to settle for two queen beds, which leaves less room for moving around. Also, there was NO MICROWAVE oven in the room either. The hotel website says "microwave on request" so I asked at check-in and was told it would cost me another $5 per day. Now, I know that $5 is not a lot of money, but just another irritation. There IS a microwave in the laundry room several doors down from our room--not very convenient for re-heating leftovers from lunch. Picture attached from the laundry room We enjoyed desserts at the Amigo Spot restaurant (take-out), fried ice cream and dessert chimichangas. The bed had a very noisy spring whenever I sat on the side to crawl in. Not nice for my wife in the middle of the night. There were plenty of outlets and USB ports BUT, they were mostly on a network of extension cords and power strips. Probably not a fire hazard, but a little disconcerting. I found it interesting that they wanted to charge me $5/night for a microwave, but there was a personal safe in the closet. If not for the initial disappointment and the queen bed substitution, I would have given a much higher score. The A/C did a nice job of cooling, but didn't provide much heat in the morning. Fortunately, it was not too cold at nights. Next time, I will pay a little extra for a better hotel, but mainly, I would just say, expect to climb some stairs.…
Enjoyed my overnight visit. Hotel manager Sandra was very friendly and accommodating. The decor of the hotel was beautiful. As a war veteran, I appreciated the branch of service flags flying out front! I will definitely stay here again next time I’m visit San Diego. Always nice to know a great place to recommend to friends and family, and your hotel will be my recommendation!
