I have a work assignment nearby and have had the motorhome in La Pacifica for just over two months now. I am enjoying my stay. The staff is friendly and works to keep the park tidy. They will cite you for rules violations and other concerns, but because of their efforts, most everybody works to stay "within the lines." There are many here, individuals and families, that are here full time. I have found my neighbors to be nice, honest, hard-working people who like me, are just trying to get along in life. I enjoy their company. There are plenty of school-age kids in the park and I find them to be very well behaved. I've used the pool during the day when it's not busy. A crew tests and cleans it each morning. The area within the fence is clean and comfortable. There are shower and restrooms, laundry and a rec room but I don't use them as I haven't need to. They seem ok. The park has a free wifi signal. I'm fortunate to be next to an antenna set and get a signal suitable for email, browsing, TripAdvisor reviews, but not anything that could be streamed from. In the evening hours, the young people in the park gather close to the signal sources with their devices. I have 30 and 50 amp metered electrical service, a water hook up and sewer at the site. It serves me well. Many of the spaces have trees which help shade the RV's part of the day. There's a nearly constant breeze blowing in from the ocean and that helps to keep the RV cooler. The biggest drawback I've experienced is the noise that comes from Interstate 5, which the park is adjacent to. Some sites within the park may be sheltered from the noise but this space isn't. The concrete block wall that lines the perimeter doesn't catch enough of the noise. While tolerable at night, the commute northbound starts around 4-430am. The noise does wake me up but the bedroom of the RV is nearest to the freeway, a situation dictated by the hookup location. It might be better if the bus faced the freeway. My suggestion would be to try to get a space with hookups away from the freeway. The park is right on the San Diego Metro Transit bus lines that serves the trolley station just under a mile away. There's a small shopping center adjacent to the park's east end that has groceries, laundry, banking, auto parts, a salon and other businesses as well as several places to eat. I particularly like El Guero Taco Shop (see my review), a great local business. The space rent for this unit is $650/mo plus electricity. It's very reasonable when compared to other parks in the San Diego area. I can recommend La Pacifica.

We may have lucked out, but the place is and has been under new management for 4 months now and we are delighted with the cleanlyness of the park. We would not hesitate to stay here in the future. Very close to Imperial beach, nice waves, and only a 15 - 20 minute ride to Sea World and Mission Bay. I'd guess 95% of park is full timers but very neat and clean and well behaved. We will return. Stayed here four days. Found online. If there was an overall rating of less than 1, they would get it! Had we known the conditions BEFORE we arrived, we would not have stayed. This is NOT a park for your "typical RV traveler!" This is a "long term" park, for anyone... IT IS NOT A RESORT! Day 1 Thu: Good location for touring the area but we discovered no cable and by the time we did... the office was closed(?) 5pm no less. Tried to call the 800 number and only got the answering machine. Tried to call the so-called "emergency number" posted at entrance but that number did not work! The handyman stated that they were working on a transformer and it would be fixed tomorrow. (Made sense as several at&t trucks kept running in/out.)(at&t was NOT working on cable problem.) Day 2 Fri: 8am leafblower running right outside our RV! The entryway fence has been "tagged" by a local gang want-to-be. Upon return from touring, after 5pm, the cable was hooked up. Not at our box but from another rv space to our space, so the handyman lied. The reception was snowy or so bad, unviewable. FORGET IT! They never came to check on our cable and we didn't mention it. There is more foot and car traffic through this park than there is on I-5 and thats no lie! Property is totally unsecured! Lock up your belongings nightly, we did. Day 3 Sat: Returned from a day of visiting friends to tons of foot and car traffic.... again. Day 4 Sun: Came back to NO cable... again. Followed the cable line to find the problem. Someone had tore the cable connection from the box. Put it back together myself (after 5pm) and went back to watch... a movie on the computer. Cable stinks. Day 5 Mon: It is before 7am and there are kids playing in the next space that don't belong there. Thanks for the wake-up call! (again!) Time for coffee but .... (guess) NO WATER! Glad for fresh water holding tanks! Overall, this IS a "long-term" park for everyone and NOT recommended for the "typical RV traveler." Beware of fake praises and political replies and contact me for honesty on any of my reviews or the places we go.We can go anywhere we want and will NEVER return to this "park."
