I loved my stay at Hampton Inn Del Mar, everyone I encountered was very pleasant and helpful. Leslie, Lilyan were so professional and knowledgeable. I felt welcomed and appreciated. I wish I can remember the name of the breakfast lady and the housekeeping ladies who cleaned my room. Thank you.
The hotel is conveniently located off the freeway and close to shopping areas. The staff was friendly and answered questions when I had them. The room has a mini-fridge & microwave, two important amenities for me. The bathroom was large and the lighting was nice (it wasn't too dim). One thing the room did not have was a dresser with drawers. There was a closet with hangers tho. Although they had options for breakfast food items, I had to order from the staff since it was all kept behind the counter. I would have preferred self-service (which seems to go a little faster when there is a line). Overall, the hotel was clean & comfortable... the two main ingredients.
If possible I would give this property a zero. Upon arrival you will find a time warp to 1988. The property has never been updated. Stale smells of smoke, alcohol, and pet urine permeate the property in every corner. A few hours before arrival I received a voicemail saying my credit card did not go through so they were canceling my reservation. I called and secured my room. Apparently they had an old card on file but were ready to cancel my reservation as soon as they could. After two nights I got a notice my car could be towed for parking in the hotel lot. I called the front desk, only to be met with belligerent front desk staff. I was told at Check in that the parking garage was a few but everything else was few. Two days later I get a notice saying ALL parking is paid. This solidified why I am Ambassador with Marriott. This would never happen at a Marriott property. Not in a million years would a Marriott staff go out of their way to make a simple trip seem so horrible. Especially in such a disgusting property.…
My husband and I stayed one night. The room was very clean, bed was semi comfortable. The room was very clean and quiet. We really like having the option of parking inside the parking structure and not outside. The breakfast buffet was closed due to cover but they had a nice variety of packaged foods. The hotel worker that was handing them out was very friendly and generous with the food items of our choice. If given the opportunity we would definitely stay here again! We were completely satisfied.
The hotel was super clean. The staff was very friendly and professional. Vinnie, the front desk employee, went above and beyond sending my forgotten belongings back home. I never experienced such nice service! Thank you Halina
