This is a 2 star hotel that meets all the key requirements for me. It is very clean. I love the fact that the floor is hard parquet and not the typical rug. I enjoyed walking around the room barefoot. It has free parking and wifi - both key requirements for me. It also has a small fridge and a small microwave as well as a safe. There is a small table - just big enough to accommodate two people working on their lap tops. There is just enough floor space to roll out your yoga mat and do yoga. It is only 15-20 minute drive to UC San Diego. The restaurant and the grocery/liquor store on the lot is very convenient (breakfast is very good at the restaurant. the liquor store sells freshly brewed coffee in the morning). The hotel circle area has side walk - i was able to go for long walk along the hotel circle and around the UC San Diego Medical center on Bachman street (off Hotel Circle drive).

Extremely friendly staff. Guys - you are rock stars. Thank you for being so nice to all the people. Rooms on the other hand were not up to expectations. PROS: 1. Very friendly staff. 2. Excellent location. 3. Safe parking. Staff also vouched for it. 4. Very nice rooms. No carpet- no dust ! CONS: 1. Very poor ventilation. Need to keep windows open. We went to seaworld and were very tired by the time we got back at 11PM. Room was having fruit flies. It’s normal to the staff. There are few windows left open when they check you in. Keep them open even if the AC is On. No exhaust fans. 2. Only 2 places to plug-in power for charging , etc. 3. 2nd floor is Not wheelchair accessible. FINAL VERDICT: I can still trust these guys in spite of flip sides. All because of the people (I know 2 names - Pierre and Loreana. Sorry if I got the names wrong ✌️ )

I have come back to the Atwood hotel for a second time and they didn't disappoint once again! The rooms unlike many others I have stayed at in San Diego smelled clean so as the lobby. The one gentleman I believed named Francisco was very helpful in telling me what was closed and open around the area due to the pandemic still going on. He did more than what I expected to help me with such as helping me bring my luggage into my room. I have you guys on my list of go-to hotels whenever I am back in San Diego to visit.

Came with my girlfriend to visit some family members and needed a place to stay and I'm glad we chose this spot. Pierre helped us out a lot on where to go and what places were open to eat due to covid. His professionalism is the best and made us feel welcome. Thank you Pierre for everything! Will definitely be back.
