Nice (if small) rooms, loved the Eames chairs. Where the whole experience fell apart and left me with a bad taste in my mouth was the service. I really don't write reviews online but felt this was some very sloppy service for a "luxury" hotel... and I stay at quite a few for work. 1. When we showed up, I mentioned that my girlfriend (also staying with me) was a healthcare worker and asked about the discount, as we were paying at check in. The gentleman at the desk quickly brushed the request aside and said we had to do it at the time of online reservation and made zero effort to apply any kind of discount... not even suggesting to cancel and then re-book, nothing. 2. Unfortunately, when I checked out I left a nice dress shirt and suit jacket in the closet of my room. I know this for a fact because I only had one small bag and thoroughly searched the bag and car when I got home. Called the hotel staff to see if they'd check and they said, "oh we'll call you back shortly!" After 2 days of not receiving any calls back despite me checking in repeatedly, I basically had to pull teeth to get the unconcerned gentleman at the desk to finally just go manually check the room himself. He said nothing was in there, and that housekeeping did not turn anything in. So there are a only few implied options here, since matter can not physically vanish in this universe: - Housekeeping did not really clean the closet (yikes) and the clothes vanished with the next guests - Housekeeping did clean the closet and the clothes still vanished (how?) - Someone is not telling the full truth somewhere - I've lost my mind completely and am imagining things 3. Valet cost like $55. In the morning they said it'd take 20 minutes to retrieve the car, which is a little long but reasonable for a busy hotel. At the 45 minute mark (despite them not being very busy, I could see through the window) I finally went back and asked about the car, at which point the gentleman immediately sent someone down to get the car and it was there within 5 minutes. What were they doing in the meantime? By the way, the man who brought the car left his reeking cigarette odor behind, awesome for someone who has asthma. Any one of these issues alone wouldn't prompt me to write a review - I really don't want to come across as a high maintenance person because I'm not. This was death by a thousand (or 3) paper cuts. Also, amenity fee?? LOL…
I stayed for one night at the Nine Zero (and was bowled over by the staff. The Keurig machine can be sent to the room but when Phil heard that I drink tea all day and night when working, he went out of his way to get me a stash of English Breakfast tea bags. There's the lovely Yary who checked me in and was available to help answer any questions. Addy prepared the tea tray with the kettle and paraphenalia and brought it to my room. Jorge was always very welcoming at the door when I came back. The building itself is charming with clusters of rooms in nooks and corners. Vintage picture adorn the wall with matching style furniture. The room was spacious, the bed was firm the way I like it, and the headrest was comfortable to lean against with good reading light over it. Good volume of hot water in the shower. Nice restaurants, a food court, and fast food within 2-8 mins walk. Check out Bonjour and say hi to owner Driss - a charming French cafe with classics like Egg Benedict, Avocado Toast, and Shaksuka. Offers a 10% discount for hotel guests. Mast serving Italian food, is 2 mins round the corner and they offer 15% discount to guests. Chinatown is a couple of blocks away. Lots of shops 3 mins away on Washington St, as are the T stations Downtown Crossing and Park Street which will literally get you to any part of Boston. Thank you so much for a delightful stay.…
We travel quite a few times throughout the year, whether its for work or pleasure. Now during this unsettled time, it is really aggravating to me that these hotels charge an EXTRA AMENITY FEE to stay. This is one HOTEL that does such a thing. I was going to book it, cause it is a great location, and it looks like a great spot. Then when I booked there is an ADDITIONAL $28.75 per night added on to the already high hotel cost. I dont like that fee ANYTIME, but at this unsettled times, when they dont even come and clean your room during your stay, is a rip off. Yes they say you get this and you get that, but its stuff i would NEVER even use,. So before i booked, i called the hotel and asked if there was a way I could get this fee waived, the woman wasnt very nice and the phone and told me "no matter where you stay in the city, you get this fee" I caught her in a lie, because I was in KIMPTON ONYX last week right down the street from this hotel, and I got NO Amenity fee, when I told her, she had some lame excuse. Normally, i would just let it go, and just find another place, but at THIS time, it just got under my skin, thats why i feel a need to complain. I end up booking a WYNDHAM in BEACON HILL, that is a really great place, and they DO NOT charge AN amenity fee. So I guess the kimpton prefers to have empty rooms, instead of just waiving that stupid fee.... so if your reading this, there ARE places in town, that does not charge that amenity fee....…
Me and my girlfriend stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was amazing. The hotel is beautiful, extremely clean and the staff was extremely attentive and awesome, specially Kalim at the front desk.
I enjoyed a 5-star experience with the amazing staff & top notch accomodations at the beautiful Nine Zero Hotel. My stay was an unexpectedly extended one & the management (Phil, Joseph) front desk staff (Yary, Leon, Liz) & housekeeping professionals (Addy was terrific) really went out of their way to make me & my pet (see photo attached of David Ortiz the Cat enjoying the gorgeous view from Rm 1002) feel like we were at home during a challenging time. The stunning room, lovely common areas, most convenient location in the city - all wonderful. Major bonus: PET FRIENDLY at no extra fee (as with all Kimptons).
