#2 of 15 B&Bs / Inns in Moab
Travellers' Choice
Sunflower Hill is an oasis in the heart of Moab. With spectacular gardens, shade trees, outdoor living spaces, and refreshing pool, the inn stands in stark contrast to the hot, barren desert that surrounds it (and the typical hotel surrounded by concrete and pavement). Situated on a quiet residential street, the inn is a short 8-minute walk to downtown shops and restaurants, and yet that distance buffers it from the congestion and noise of downtown traffic. Each of the Inn’s 12 guest rooms is unique. The inn is large enough to provide all the important amenities, yet small enough to provide individual attention to every guest. It’s that commitment to guest satisfaction that sets Sunflower Hill apart. If you like the idea of walking out the door and into a garden, rather than a parking lot; savoring delicious and healthful breakfasts made from scratch, not out of a package or box; enjoying unique rooms and décor, rather than cookie-cutter uniformity, Sunflower Hill is the place for you.

So glad we chose Sunflower Hill! My husband was not keen on a B&B but now he is convinced they are worth consideration. Emily greeted us and discussed everything. Room was great (loft). Super quiet. Super relaxing pool and hot tub! Gardens are beautiful. Nice breakfast options. Hot coffee ready in morning. Easy check in/out. So close to downtown and Arches. Roaming deer at night. Don’t stay at a chain in Moab stay here. You will not be disappointed.

Sunflower Inn is everything it claims to be - A Luxury Inn! Located on a quiet residential street, walking distance from the main drag of Moab with its many restaurants and shops, with a private parking lot in the rear, the Inn is an oasis in the desert! Our room, the Bowery, was beautifully decorated and had a wonderful balcony overlooking the gardens. The pool was the perfect temperature and never crowded. There was a hot tub, but in 108 degree weather, we took a pass. There is a lending library of many tour books and lots of board games to pass the time. The folks who keep the Inn running, including the owner, the Mayor of Moab, were all amazing - helpful, warm and able! There is a washer, dryer and even soap available for guests as well as a microwave and toaster in the pantry. Lemon water, hot water and coffee were available for most of the day, and the rooms are equipped with keurigs, pods and coffee fixings. I saved the best for last…THE BREAKFASTS!!!! One places their breakfast order via phone app (nothing to download) by 9pm each day specifying time desired. The breakfasts are prepared in adorable mason jars and placed in labeled baskets in the refrigerator in the pantry, so you can fetch them whenever. We would eat a light breakfast of our own snacks before heading out to the parks at 7am, and gorge on the sumptuous feasts as lunch upon our return. The choices were all delicious - frittatas, Greek yogurt with homemade granola, fresh baked scones, everything bagels with lox, capers and onions, OJ…and each day (wait for it), you get to select THREE items!!! We were stuffed until dinner!!! Also hanging on our door when we returned from our daily expeditions, were fresh baked cookies. Yum! The Innkeeper thinks of everything! There is a small store selling sunscreen, tee shirts, etc. and umbrellas and walking sticks to borrow as well. Though the Inn may be pricier than some of the other motels in Moab, it is well worth the splurge! Don’t miss out!!

Favorite place we’ve ever stayed! So gorgeous, great amenities, and super accommodating staff! Amazing included breakfast with smoked salmon bagel, charcuterie jar, scones, and much more. So good! Beautiful area with flowers, animals, pool and hot tub. So quiet and cozy. Loved getting to sit on our private balcony every morning. Adorable shared kitchen and sitting areas with coffee, tea kettle, fresh water with lemon and mint, microwave, shared fridge with fresh fruit and everything you need. You also have a mini fridge in your room as well. Perfect location where it’s quiet but super close to town. Loved it so much and we’ll definitely be back! *wanted to upload a picture of the beautiful deer we saw one day in the sunflower field but it said it was to big, but SO beautiful.*

To be honest, we didn't expect much because Moab is, well, not the most upscale town in Utah. What an amazing surprise our two day stay at Sunflower Hill turned out to be! Spotlessly clean with little touches that distinguish this venue...beautiful gardens meticulously tended, wonderful breakfast with menu choices; and the Inn boxed a breakfast for us to allow our departure for Arches before 6am. We were in IVY cottage and enjoyed a comfortable bed, quiet room beautifully decorated with vintage pieces. There is a large common area with a huge fireplace, library, bar area with glassware and a large dining table inviting a snack, wine and cheese or just conversation with your neighbors. Our Innkeeper was a delight, she did everything possible to ensure our stay was pleasant. We will definitely plan another Southern Utah trip with the Sunflower Inn our home base. Couldn't ask for more comfortable lodging. At approximately $300 per night including tax and gratuity it was well worth it!

Breakfast is wonderfully made in mason jars due to COVID restrictions and left for you to grab from Pantry refrigerator. 7 min drive to Arches National Park. 20 min drive to Canyonlands National Park .
