We arrived at 11:30 at night, the attendant started crying when I asked a question and couldn't understand them. Then I had to sign the pet waiver. You are not to leave the pets alone at all or animal control will be called. If there is too much noise, animal control will be called. It was during the heat wave so we couldn't bring our dog anywhere walking during the day, so we were literally stuck in the motel room for two days with the threat of animal control scaring us. MISERABLE experience. Anyone who considers their pet family, stay away from here. It sent me into two panic attacks. Far away from downtown, expensive, and unhelpful. Book somewhere else...especially if you have fur babies.

Good location and room, but our stay impacted our overall experience in Moab / Arches. Our room was double booked immediately by a family who was right behind us in the lobby - management was unorganized in terms of room assignment. Two days later this happened again, and a couple walked right into our room...and our keys stopped working for our room. Housekeeping also came one day ready to turn over the room thinking the room was vacant or we should have been checked out, good thing we were there when it happened. Staff fixed the problem but they clearly had no idea which rooms were filled and by whom. Our first night was eventful being woken up at 3:30 in the morning by another guest screaming obscenities and running from floor to floor slamming the stair exit which was right across from our room. We were quite concerned for our safety because we previously noticed that the exterior stairwell door did not close, and could be entered by anyone. This event plus the issues with our room being double booked twice led to a poor experience and we were happy to leave.

My car broke down on a mtn road in Colorado on the morning of my resv at motel 6 in Moab. When I called and explained my situation and needed to cancel, I was told that they would not cancel my resv and I would be billed because I did not give them the required 24 hr notice. I offered to fax them the invoice for the car repair and reminded them that their website was indicating the motel was full for the evening and they were not taking anymore resvs, so they would not be at a loss for revenue. The manager refused to extend to me the courtesy I would expect from any other hotel manager, But not, apparently at a choice hotel property, I phoned customer service and was told that there was nothing they could do since property owners and managers have complete autonomy about making their own policies. Beware! This manager sounds like a complete nightmare!

This may be the case not just for this hotel but Motel 6 system in general: they now tend to provide you with bare-bone necessities and nothing more. It’s so happened, that we stayed at two different Motel 6 within 2 months. So this is what I’ve noticed. For example, facial tissues are now the luxury, you’re supposed to clean your nose with toilet paper. Imagine you have a cold, like my husband did! Soap is another luxury: a single piece for sink and shower. If two people are in the bathroom at the same time, it becomes a struggle. But my biggest peeve is that in Moab, where most guests travel for hiking and other adventures and may have food with them, there’s no fridge in the whole building. We drove all the way from MN and had a cooler with some food. We needed at least a place to refreeze our cooling elements. We asked the staff for help but were told there was no fridge there at all. They were nice enough to give us extra plastic bags to fill them with ice from the machine. It helped to save the food, but our cooler was full of water by the end of the hot day. Needless to say, it was a huge nuisance we could do without at $188 + tax a night. Hotel prices in Moab are ridiculously high but still try to stay away from Motel 6. You may find something of more value elsewhere.

Location & amenity wise this hotel was fine. However, none of the employees (except a woman named Missy who was there early mornings) wore masks inside. About 75% of guests didn’t wear masks inside & the employees didn’t enforce it. While we are approaching times when we won’t have to wear masks indoors, IF THERE ARE SIGNS LITERALLY EVERYWHERE SAYING MASKS ARE REQUIRED THEN ???? It’s Utah so I didn’t expect people in general to take it serious, but if I’m patronizing a business which clearly states it’s policy on masking in shared spaces...whatever.
