Detailed Reviews
This hotel is very dated and basic we had what was meant to be a Queen Bed room - the room was tiny with no storage or place to put clothing. Bed virtually touching walls both sides.
Placed a pair of jeans on floor and following morning they were damp.
The en-suite was good though and shower had ok water pressure.
Tried to ask for a different room and was told to see person in the morning but then in morning person said he was only security - we were out early.

Bed comfortable. Bathroom good. Another chair . ( these could double as bedside tables)
I like tea so would like more choice. E.g. decaf which is not herbal.
A small fridge is supplied in most hotel/ Air b and b accommodation and we feel this would be THE most important item to consider.

Location is good, public transport at doorstep. Good stay for one night in an Economy Double, staff were very friendly and room was small, basic but adequate and clean. Lacking some amenities however there is a working elevator and toiletries provided. Hot water in shower took a little while to heat up but overall a good hotel for the price I paid.

Not only was the hotel a surprising find, the location was perfect! The staff was cheerful and went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed. Rocky, Thanks!!! You are extra special and the reason I wrote this review! The room, although small, was spotless. The bathroom was large. The hotel is right on Market, not far from Museums, the Symphony, and Ballet. Zuni is worth the hype and two blocks away is a terrific “50’s diner, Topp’s. While others ate eggs for breakfast, I splurged on a chocolate malt! We loved our stay!

I booked a room through hotels.com and when I arrived at almost 11pm, the hotel was locked and there was no one there to let me in. I called the number posted for late checkin-ins and it went straight to voicemail. I left a voicemail and they never called back.
I had to find a hotel late at night. Then they had the audacity to only agree to refund one night of the 2 nights I'd booked.

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate my wife's birthday and other than the look of the rooms, the stay here was abysmal. The radiator heater wasn't working, the cable wasn't working, we had to change rooms because the outlets weren't working. They ran out of portable heaters, so we had to go all the way downstairs to the front desk to get only one blanket in the middle of winter. We will never stay here again.

Very nice and comfortable hotel. Clean and really helpful staff. The only flaw is the location, as it is in an area populated by homeless people. (although really difficult to find a safe one given the general deterioration in SF)
I give 5 stars because the hotel is excellent.

The only point is for the welcome since we were received by a smiling young woman doing her best to satisfy the customers.
Our smile changed when we had to take the elevator to get to the fourth because very narrow entrance with gate closure and our hostess advising us to climb one after the other with our suitcase and bag. Two Trips to find us in a narrow corridor, then opening room 44 to enter a very small room with little room to move, decrepit walls, a shabby bathroom!
Travel booked on VentePrivee.com with whom I will make a complaint.

Nope. Absolutely not. The floors were filthy, there was hair in the shower, the was a big hole in the ceiling above the bed where a light used to be, the television was plugged into an extension cord that didn't work, the mattress collapsed in all sorts of weird ways, and the smell of the place was indescribable. It was absolutely the wrong decision to book this place and I would never return.

RUDE & very unpleasant staff the moment you walk in the door. Rooms are small, dark & dirty. Bed & pillows stained and look flea infested. I would rather sleep in my car than spend a night here. Very skeptical of "Excellent" reviews given. Probably bogus. DO NOT RECOMMEND, EVER!
