The area around the hotel is alittle sketchy- but they are a very secure well run hotel. I hope you get Chaquita when you check - she is amazing!! The hotel, including the lobby, rooms and other common areas, is beautiful, the location is good (only a few blocks from Union Square, Civic Center and other relevant places), it has many great complimentary services such as gym, laundry room, coffee machine with supplies, packages admission and storage, and the staff is really nice and helpful, specially Maria who made me feel at home during my stay there

After dealing with some unfortunate mishaps and billing confusion during our stay, Maria stepped up in a big way through her communication, congeniality, and action. Her professionalism and genuine care really left me with a positive experience. She was patient, listened, and provided solutions with alacrity and friendliness. Just wanted you to know how special she is. Major thank you to Maria for all of her help! She made me feel valued, appreciated and treated me with so much respect, patience and kindness. I couldn’t have asked for anything more and it’s hard after staying at another hotel for the second half of our trip to find another Maria out there. It’s because of people like Maria that I will continue to do business with Marriott. The customer service is exceptional. This property is very charming and unlike any other hotel I've stayed at before. I was very surprised to find out that this was a Courtyard - it seemed like a cute boutique property. I found the room to be beautiful (albeit a little small because we were in the lowest category) with intriguing architecture and a beautiful bathroom. I received great service at the front desk. I believe her name was Jennaea. Thanks all for the great stay! Can't wait to return!

My family and I stayed a few days at this hotel and enjoyed it very much. It was much less expensive than the other Marriotts in San Francisco so we gave it a try. We had a suite in the back of the hotel on the fifth floor that was just right and very quiet. I have nothing negative to say about the hotel itself, which is unusual for me. I really like the decor and everything is clean and new. My only two concerns which we knew when we booked is that the hotel isn’t in the best neighborhood and so there aren’t many dining options within a short walk. There is a Mell’s kitchen dinner in the building which is pretty much average and fortunately for us a Starbucks across the street which got a lot of use from us. My other concern is that there are quite a few homeless people around which I have no issues with but some can be a bit aggressive which was a little concerning to my family. Lastly we saw open drug use which again, is concerning but we’re from a big city so seeing that isn’t anything new. Would I stay here again? You bet. It’s a great hotel at a reasonable cost and as long as you keep you situational awareness when you’re out, you’ll be fine. …

Nice hotel. Clean. Bed was super comfortable. Chakita and janea were friendly upon check in. Only problem was figuring out where to park to check in. Also hairdryer in the room doesn’t fit the outlet in the bathroom so you have to dry your hair in the room. Close to transit. Close to food.

SO many things are wrong with this establishment starting with the parking situation. The marriott website states that this hotel has onsite parking/inside parking. What it does not state is that most visitors likely will NOT get parking and that the next nearest parking situation is blocks away. After being told there was “no room at the inn” at least as far as parking goes….I drove around 30 minutes looking for indoor parking. As a single, woman traveler, unfamiliar with this area of San Francisco I was scared to death to have to find my way, by myself at 10:30PM, back to the hotel. When I arrived at the hotel I began checking in. There was no apology, no offer of hospitality, not even an offer of a bottle of water from the front desk staff. As I was handing my credit card and id to the desk clerk I accidentally “tossed” my ID to the clerk and it landed on her computer. It was at that point that night security, Mike Melidez (?) with Epic Security, began threatening me. He threatened my personal safety by threatening to kick me out at 10:30 at night. I apologized to the desk clerk and he continued to threaten me and say he would be calling the SF police. I have been a loyal Marriott customer for years and this is the first time I’ve ever felt unsafe at a Marriott property. What’s worse is that I was made to feel unsafe by an actual “security” guard. The utter lack of respect, not to mention hospitality, is unforgiveable. Also the hotel is in a VERY unsafe area of San Francisco and was epically mis-represented by the online photos. Front desk staff was neither accommodating nor at all worried about guest safety. In fact I'm not sure whether or not I'll be raped in my bed tonight.…

Wow what a lovely hotel we found in San Francisco!! When we arrived the receptionist was very welcoming and friendly (the receptionist that was there when we collected our bags wasn’t friendly at all). The building is lovely and the room was very nice too. The hotel doesn’t offer any breakfast but it’s attached to Mel’s Cafe. There is also a Starbucks very close by. The gym is very well equipped. I will definitely stay in this hotel next time I come to San Francisco.

The first thing you notice is the beautiful lobby and I did ask about it, turns out the entire place was gutted and redone in 2019. The lady at the front desk is AMAZING, Ms. Maria is a smiling joy. She is like checking in with an old friend: asking about me, how she can help and not just at check in but each and every time she saw me. I hope they realize what a gem she is and an asset to the hotel. My room was spacious, bed was truly comfortable and the shower / bathroom large and obviously new. I am sharing something really sensitive to me in hopes that it won’t happen to you or your loved ones. Courtyard Marriott FAILED at having security protocols in place. Housekeeping allowed a thief to rob my room. They LIED about filing a police report and reimbursement for everything stolen. I was given a sloppy apology and $1,500 which does NOT cover the thousands of dollars worth of my things. Because of this, I missed my cousin’s wedding, family photos, touring the city and several events. I spent 2 out of the 4 days in San Francisco stressing and dealing with this nightmare because the hotel did not do their part in taking responsibility. Extremely DISAPPOINTED!
