Wretched and unsanitary from start to end. Upon check in, I noticed numerous PUBIC HAIRS in the bathroom sink and urine stains on the bathtub. Reported to management who did not apologize and only offered to move me to a far room at another end of the property. NO compensation. Problem is: I’m handicap and have mobility problems. Numerous complaints later, I was told I had no choice but to stay in my filthy dirty room and tough it out at nearly $1000 a night! What a waste. Service is a complete nightmare and management is the worst of the pack. Save your agony and spend your money literally anywhere else.

First negative review i have ever written——-I have been a multi week owner here since basically opening in 2003 — it has always been a great place for my family as they have grown and we have been here just about every year and loved this place. It is different now, maybe Covid, maybe WAY over sold and used and abused. I booked three suites for a big trip with my kids and grandkids to come together (23 total- 13 small kids) and was very specific (through emails and phone calls) on being somewhere close together and at least two suites on the ground floor if possible. Unfortunately, one was booked with destination point and was ocean view! Booking ocean view along side of two island view suite is more than the front desk can handle…. Big mistake ! Be careful about that… it throws the pre-arrive and front desk in tailspin. So in 19 years i have never (as an multi week Owner) been put in building 4 in the back of the resort — well…. That all changed this time as the team up front could not figure our how to get that room closer to the other two suites in building 8 —-(again i called weeks ahead) really. I am sad and disappointed as we have always loved this place…. Might be time to move on. Showers are way out of date and need a major upgrade and based on what I’m paying in yearly fees… hmmm… makes me wonder, so sad to say.

Aloha Nelsen, thank you for your review of your recent stay at Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club. We are saddened to learn the Front Desk was unable to assist in providing villas in close proximity to one another for your party. While it is not always easy to accommodate guests requests, the team should make every effort to do so or provide your party with alternative options. We thank you for being an Owner with Marriott Vacation Club and hope we can provide a better experience during a future stay.

Nice resort that is feeling a bit dated. We have been regular visitors for many years. Unfortunately the staff has gone way down hill. Possibly some of the most difficult to work with I have encountered at any Marriott property. Very unwelcoming and unfriendly upon arrival and impossible to work with on room assignments. We booked an extra night just before arriving expecting to have it added to the week we were staying only to be informed that we would have to change rooms because our extra night booked as ocean view cannot be downgraded to the Island view room we had as a time share owner for the remainder of the week. It makes you question all the promises made during the time share sales meetings. Absolutely don’t feel like an owner this week.

Aloha Casey, thank you for your review of your recent stay at Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club. We apologize for the inconvenience of not being able to combined your 2 reservations. While this may seem like a simple task, as a Vacation Ownership resort we are bound to the inventory our owners have chosen to elect, this is how rental inventory comes about and we have to honor what was purchased via ownership and rental. When adding nights to a stay we recommend reaching out to the Front Desk prior to arrival to review available options. Again we apologize for the inconvenience but hope you enjoyed your overall stay.

We stayed at this hotel last week in room 1401 (hale 1, 4th floor). We checked out on the 6th to go to Maui. When we arrived in Maui I unpacked and realized we had left my daughter epipens for her severe food allergies. I called and was simply told the room had been cleaned and they had found nothing. They said I should fill out a lost item form from security, which I did. I reluctsntly accepted that at the time, but as the day went on I became more upset that I had been a bit blown off. I called again and said I knew I had left it in the safe and asked if anything could be done because this is potentially life saving medication. The response was that someone else had already checked into that room and they couldn't check until they had checked out. Had it been another family that needed their child's potentially life-saving medication, I would not be offended at all if the hotel asked me if something had been left in the safe from the previous visitor. Perhaps the hotel doesn't want to appear to another guest that they overlooked something between guests when turning over the room and that they obviously don't give it a thorough going over? But, this isn't some piddly thing that was left. It's was our daughter's meds that could save her life if she accidentally had nuts or peanuts. A simple text or call to the current occupant to inquire is all they would needed to have done. Twice I was blown off by the hotel. The longer I wait to hear if security found her medication in the safe, the angrier I get. I'm a marriott bonvoy member, but this has put a very sour taste in my mouth for marriott. Is this how they treat their guests? Yes, it was our fault that in our packing haste we didn't check the safe before we left. It's the only time we have EVER forgotten an item. But when you really, REALLY need customer service, they proved you cannot count on them at all. Also, just so you are aware, there is no ice machine.

Aloha Susan, thank you for your review of your recent stay at Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club. We do hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay outside of the experience above. We understand the frustration of leaving something behind, but also not knowing if the team has recovered it. While it is not common practice to disturb the new occupants of a villa, it can be done for special circumstances. We apologize that our service was not exemplary in the situation and the inconvenience this has caused the rest of your vacation.

We had a fabulous week at Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club in a 2 BR condo overlooking the pool and ocean. We were in Hale 2. Easy parking and access to our room, lobby, pool, and beach. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I had called a coupe of times ahead of time and they were always so helpful. I had a Safeway grocery delivery the day we arrived and they stored everything (including cold stuff) until we got checked in. This resort attracts families and there are definitely alot of kids around the pool and on the grounds. I noticed it also attracts quite a few older and disabled peopled. There were quite a few walkers and wheelchairs. This is where I will travel when I'm 90! We found the room to be very comfortable and we loved sitting on the deck in the morning and evening. The food at the Honu Beach Bar was really good. We ended up cancelling several reservations just so we could stay on the property to have dinner by the beach. They close early so you have to order by 6:45 pm. But food is much better than you would expect. It's also in a great location with a swimmable beach and easy drive to restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend.
