Beautiful property perfectly situated virtually on the seashore. We had a garden room on the first floor which had a view of the Marriott next door and a public walkway to the beach. We didn’t make use of the balcony as there was no proper view, it was dark and overlooked by lots of Marriott balconies and the beach walkway. The compulsory valet parking is efficient and quick. If you want to self park then there are nearby options. Staff were friendly and the hotel is nicely furnished as was our room. We had plenty of towels, efficient aircon and a ceiling fan. We had just a few personal niggles… In the main reception area there is a filtered water stand which we used everyday. The hotel is proud of its green credentials yet has gas fire pits lit every night and gas lighting in the grounds. Bottled water was left outside the room daily. We thought maybe a branded refillable bottle could be offered to guests upon arrival… There is a guest laundry which houses a large capacity washer and dryer. Poipu is a lovely sunny part of the island.…
Charming hotel for couples or those looking to get away from some of the nearby “busier” resorts. Quiet and peaceful with terrific views of the ocean especially at sunset. Excellent food, especially Red Salt, which we think is one of the best, if not the best, restaurants on the island. Walking distance to a few local restaurants and shops off property. Very friendly staff. Everything about this place just felt easy and relaxing.
This is the best hotel/resort I’ve ever stayed in. The staff was amazing in their friendliness and eagerness to help. My suite looked new and beautiful. This place is magical. This gets beyond five stars in my book.
We stayed at the Koa Kea for the first part of our honeymoon. We absolutely loved it. It’s small and so very quiet. It’s also beautiful. The staff is very friendly and nice. We can’t wait to come back.
We booked here because we wanted something smaller and quieter than the big resorts. The hotel looks like it stepped out of the 50's on the outside but the rooms are being renovated nicely. We had a very large oceanfront room. The bed was comfortable. A lot of storage space. Nice bathroom with separate toilet room and a large shower. Nice bathroom amenities. Good pool bar and restaurant, and very nice inside restaurant. Food was excellent. Definitely need reservations for inside. Still a little TLC needed but nothing that would stop someone from staying here. Free bottle of wine for booking directly, at least that is what I think it was for. They do have a spa and outdoor message tables. Also a water sport hut that gives surfing instruction as well as other things. Well spaced lounge chairs on the lawn, and lounge chairs with umbrellas around the pool. Excellent sunset views.…
