Paniolo Greens looks beautiful in their pictures but when I stayed there I felt I had moved into a Motel 6. We had asked for a view of the golf course away from the noise. What we received was a view of the community barbeque that was only steps off the patio. The patio housed the HVAC for the unit plus the patio table and chairs. Not what I wanted during my trip to Hawaii or anywhere else for that matter. We had a ground floor unit. Not a good choice but there are no elevators. It was extrememly noisy from the upstairs unit. Apparently there is no soundproofing materials in the walls or flooring. Timeshare owners have limited guests that can occupy a unit but occupancy in open for others that book one of the units. When the noisy neighbors moved out we counted 10-14 people leaving the unit. I do not recommend this resort to anyone.…
We had a two bedroom unit that started on the second floor, with the bedrooms & bathrooms one flight up. It had a nice view of the golf course from one side and of the landscape from the other. We would stay there again. It’s only about 20 minutes away from our favorite beach Mauna Kea and the weather up that way seems to be clearer than down by Kailua.
This is not on the beach but does have units with a great view. Upon check in I was assigned a unit with virtually no view and after complaining the next day I was assigned a unit on the second floor that had great views. Really good restaurants close by and only 15 minutes from Hapuna Beach. One of the top 10 in the world. Units have all the amenities and are well cared for. We loved our stay here
My wife, three daughters and I spent almost three months at Paniolo during the COVID pandemic. I cannot say enough could things about this resort. It is well run by Doug and Wendy... every detail is well executed by their staff. Toni and her co-workers at the front desk always greet you with a smile and are very helpful with information about the island. The maid service, security and grounds keepers are very kind and attentive to their responsibilities. We are Founders VIP level in the Wyndham program and Paniolo is one of the very best.
This resort is located in a windy area of the island. The sliding glass doors whistle every night as the wind blows. It is an older resort, I imagine built in the 80's and needs to have some updates done. Specifically to the sliding doors. Also, bath rooms are small and shower heads are low. No soaking in a nice tub after a day of hiking or swimming. Pool was open during COVID if you wanted to plan your entire day around going to the sub-par pool area.
