This is the second year we stayed at the Belle Vue in Captain Cook on the Big Island. Vivienne has 3 lovely suites, all with kitchenettes. Vivienne decorated the suites in a country cottage style, cozy and pretty. We stayed in the Rose suite, which has a magnificent view of the south Kona coast. The suite has a king bed, WiFi, and breakfast food is left in the fridge, coffee is in a sealed crock next to the coffee maker. The large garden is beautiful with many flowers and fruit trees.

A nice, slightly pricey, foodie supermarket is less than a mile away. The trail head to the Captain Cook monument is an easy 30 minute walk (don't drive, there is very limited parking). Pu`uhonua O Hōnaunau National Historical Park, Two Step beach and Kealakekua bay are also within a short drive.

We stayed 3 nights at the Belle Vue near Captain Cook HI in April 2022. Our suite, although a little dated, was large and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom and very comfortable king sized bed. Viviane (the host) was exceedingly gracious, warm, intelligent and fun to talk to. Continental Breakfast items were stocked in the fridge so we could eat at our convenience. The view of the hillside and Pacific Ocean from the front porch was worth a million dollars! Every evening we were serenaded by the songs of peepers (tiny tree frogs) and refreshing breezes from the ocean. An abundance of fresh fruit (the apple bananas are amazing) grows on the property, along with beautiful flowering plants. This place is a true value and a hidden gem near the South Kona Coast.

Everything about this stay was great. Viviane was a wonderful and charming host, the view was stunning and the room was spotless, spacious and had everything we needed. The grounds were overflowing with colorful and beautiful plants. I’ve included a few photos of the view from our room and from the yard. The location isn’t far from a main road but far enough not to hear any of the noise. I’m definitely staying here on my next trip!

We stayed from December 24th to the 27th for our 30th anniversary. Vivienne placed us in the honeymoon suite. A bit more private. We arrived at night time and didn't see the outside view till the morning. I looked at doors and was amazed at the beauty that we say. Incredible view of the bay, a nearby tree loaded with various song birds, and a view of the garden.
The water system is solar powered and the water was nicely hot in the morning. The water pressure was fine. The decor was well done. We had breakfast waiting in refridge in the form of cereals, juices, and bread. Fresh fruit was provided. We were able to eat on our schedule. All food was organic and fresh. We love cats and this placed had many on property (perhaps 20). Unfortunately, they wouldn't allow you to love on them. They were all a bit skittish.
Laundry machines were right outside our door. The B and B was a 20 minute drive to various activities on Kona (snorkeling, food, etc.). A local supermarket with truly local fare was 5 minutes away.
Vivienne and Ali were wonderful hosts and I feel blessed in having found this piece of Heaven in Kona. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

At first it wasn’t what I expected, but once there it was so serene so peaceful with the sounds of birds all day and night and watching the birds play at their feeders! The Tom cats wandering around as well as hens and rooster running free and a white owl, were the wildlife around me. Natural bug repellent to have those animals around.
Not to mention the coast that I could see different coves and beautiful Pacific Ocean so far yet so near! So large it was hard to tell where the water ended and the sky began!
AND the most magnificent view of the stars! We were high enough on the mountain, you didn’t have to pay for a stargazing tour! It was right outside your door.
Self made breakfast with an assortment of items ready to eat when/where you wanted, all available in the fridge.
The room was roomy, the bed mattress was very good, which is always a good thing to have with all the walking I did! Sitting area, kitchen table & chairs, table & chairs out on the porch. All needed small appliances available including a hair dryer, shower gel, shampoo/conditioners all available with full size bottles and a bonus of washer/dryer available on property to use for free!!
The small town had some wonderful finds. A fresh taco stand, Black Rock pizza...so unique, yummy and you could tell how fresh everything was! For those antique loves, several to pick from!
The host/hostess were very helpful and sweet couple!!
Five stars from me!!

The photos do not fully capture how beautiful the Belle Vue is. The sunsets over the ocean and sunrises over the mountains were fabulous. The rose garden suite was spacious and our daughter was very happy with the second bedroom. Viviane has a lovely sense of design. She is a warm and intelligent person and is gracious in sharing her both her beautiful home and extensive knowledge of Hawaii with her guests. The Belle Vue was the nicest and the best value of all the places we stayed in Hawaii.

What a joy it was to have been able to return to the Belle Vue Kona! Viviane is a delightful hostess who is warm and kind and whose attention to detail has made each of our stays there memorable. Our room was very comfortable and immaculate and was stocked with everything we could have needed. The grounds were lush and filled with flowering plants whose colors were quite beautiful. Viviane had great ideas for spots to dine, spots to visit, and even a nearby spot where one could enjoy a beautiful spot for picnic-ing. The view from the Belle Vue Kona is extraordinary! We are already planning our next trip to the Belle Vue Kona!

I am Chemically Sensitive and canNOT stand pesticide or herbicide. Vivianne did not use any pesticide or herbicide. This was a safe place for me to stay. This was truly a blessing.

Views from the room are "Million Dollar" views - Breath Taking.

I was lucky to first stay at a sister property - Belle Vue Kamuela and then I also stayed at Belle Vue Kona. At both properties the hospitality was wonderful and locations were superb. I loved the scenery and the accommodations. I can;'t wait to return.

The suites are spacious and comfortable with your own kitchinette and bathroom, great big terrace overlooking the bay and Captain Cook area, memorable sunsets, quiet, immerse in 4 acres of rich and beautiful tropical garden that help nurture and restore. The hosts were kind, available and happy to give all the information needed to make the most of my stay. Most recommended!
