My husband and I came to Lake Geneva this past weekend for the first time, for a much needed night away from the kids and a much needed night together. Not knowing the area and having never heard of any of these hotels before, it was hard to choose. I relied heavily on honest reviews. So I'm giving mine. Location: it is a short, beautiful walk to downtown. It is on a corner, and it's on a busy street. You will get street noise. It didn't seem too busy when we went so this didn't bother us at all. We had no problem finding a parking space when we arrived. We only left by car to go to dinner and had no problem finding a parking space in the parking garage when we got back. The only hotel staff that we interacted with was at check-in and he was really nice. Now the important stuff. This is an older hotel, a little outdated but it seems pretty kept up. The lobby was nicely decorated and clean and the grass was kept up. The room. We got a king size lake view room. There was a bedroom, a bathroom and a living area. This was extremely helpful when going away with someone on a night shift. The living area had a TV, desk, mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, sink, closet, a couch, which I think was a sofa bed, and a chair. The couch and chair were not comfortable to sit on. The bedroom had 2 night stands and a dresser. The bed, by looks, I didn't think would be comfortable. I'm super picky with beds and pillows since I have back and neck issues. (I forgot to bring my pillow.) This bed was amazingly comfortable and so were the pillows. What was annoying for me, was that I was not able to plug my phone in and have my phone on the nightstand. This is an easy remedy for the hotel. My husband looked behind the bed and there was an outlet but it was hard to get to it and there was a pound of dust behind the bed so it wasn't worth the effort. Speaking of dust, there was a big cob web in the corner of the room to the left of the balcony door. Might want to clean that. The screen to the balcony was broken. So we couldn't leave it open. Not the biggest deal. The balcony itself was nice. A table and 2 chairs. We spent most of the night out there with a few drinks and talking. The balconies are *not* private. This was another major annoyance. Luckily our neighbors never went out onto the balcony. But it would have bothered me for someone to hear our private conversation. Or to not be able to go out there because the neighbors were out there. I read the listing trip advisor, "private balcony". Only if you had a suite. I read a review where someone complained about a light from the balcony shining into the room. We didn't have this issue at all. They turned off the lights on the balcony around 10:30, which was REALLY appreciated. The last thing I'm going to mention, I went into the cabinet under the sink to see if there were paper towels. There was. But there was also a dirty, used dish sponge which I thought was gross and should have been replaced. This is not a luxurious hotel. Just the basics. But it suited our needs for the night. For the price, I'm not sure we'd stay here again but I have no regrets. Pictures are from the balcony, showing the view and the not so private balcony.

We stayed in a beachview suite with a jacuzzi tub in bedroom. The tub was great and the room was clean. The rate was great for the wonerful view over looking the lake. Unfortantly, the patio was littered with cigarette buts and empty bottles. We stayed on the second floor and all night the person above us kerp opening and closing the patio door which would shake the entire bed.

I had my wedding at this hotel. I was not please at all with this hotel. I wish we would have gone somewhere else. Beautiful view of the lake, but the service is way below any standard of an advantage hotel. They didn’t care that we sent all this money for the experience of a lifetime and didn’t deliver. If a hotel should cares about service, they didn’t follow through with what they said they would do for a wedding. The honeymoon suite that they promised to us was rented to someone else the night of the wedding. We were moved to the room next to my future mother and father in law. Yeah, I didn’t want to spend my wedding night with my new wife in he room NEXT to future my in laws. We were going to be 3 floors away on the other side of the hotel. The way it should be. When I asked the hotel to fix it, they didn’t care. They did NOTHING!!! Aren’t the bride and groom the most important people in the hotel that night and they gave me blank looks! We spent the most money of any one in the hotel, but someone gave away OUR room with the best view of the lake and called the honeymoon suite AND was promised to us for that night! They dropped the ball is an understatement! The reason I know this because it was given to one of our guest in the wedding! We also had a wedding room welcoming gift package delivered to our room that never showed up. With the package was preset up, it was delivered to honeymoon suite that we didn’t get to stay in. We had to reorder it that night after our celebration. Instead of coming into a room of roses, lights and chocolates at the end of long day of happiness, we had nothing! What was going to be a special night and event failed miserably! I can’t find it in my heart to forgive this hotel for not living up to the promise they gave us! Go somewhere else fast for your wedding!!!

Hotel was very nice, location very good! Walkable to all in town, yet on a quiet corner. Room was very nice we choice park view to see the deer in morning. Only issue we had was the lights in parking lot illuminated bedroom all night. There is no curtains on balcony door only thin plastic blinds. The blinds were not darkening blinds by any stretch! Husband needs darkness to sleep so unfortunately he was up all night.

Love this resort and the friendly staff. We stayed here for the Snow Sculpting Competition and Winterfest. It was convenient and fun to be where everything was happening. Suite was beautiful and very comfortable with a lovelly view of the lake. Had the best massages ever received at the spa. Looking forward to our next stay and massages in the spring. This is our go to for a getaway!
