I stayed at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa and we actually stayed in one of the resort rooms. It was really nice. The one bedroom/standard size is kind of small but good if you have small children. There was only 3 of us, so it was nice. I would definitely stay with them again. The tour was nice and the salespeople were not pushy. We brought our own food and cooked ourselves so I couldn't comment on the restaurants. I will say that the waterpark was really nice and so was the horseback riding. I would definitely go again.
Made reservations at Geneva Grand for our anniversary, despite warnings from our friends that it was a mistake. Boy, we should have listened! This hotel does not reserve restaurant or spa time for its resort guests, nor do they inform you that reservations fill up weeks in advance. At any respectable resort, it is standard courtesy to ensure that resort guests have access to the resort's amenities. We were only told at the time of reservation 3 weeks prior to our trip that advance reservations were "preferred." We called the week of our trip to make reservations and found out that NOTHING was available. In fact, the spa had apparently booked solid 1 week before we even made our room reservations. Asked to speak to the spa director WHO WOULD NOT EVEN COME TO THE PHONE. …
We just got back from this resort property yesterday and we had a great time. The rooms were very clean, although small for four people. We ate dinner and breakfast at the Grand Cafe, a buffet, as that is what they suggested for small children. Be prepared to pay $20.99 for dinner and $15 or so for breakfast. Beautiful view from dining area. Kids went to the waterpark at the Timber Ridge Lodge on the same property, loved it. Plus you didn't have to drive to get there you take one of the resorts trolleys that run every 15-minutes. Great, friendly staff and overall a very nice weekend!
Stayed at Timber Ridge but came here for dinner - once to the steakhouse and once for the Italian food. Not kid friendly at all. I felt very uncomfortable by the stares I got from severs and guests when my 2 yr old acted up a little. Same wines were priced differently at both restaurants. Way overpriced and a bit of a rip off, I'd say.
Not for families-even though the amenities of ski/snowboarding and pools are available. Prices were awful for dining. Could not find anything for under $20 per person. Hamburgers/sandwiches were not even available at their cafe. Very upscale, would be a great place for a special occasion. Room was wonderful, amenities are wonderful. Was charged $10 on top of quoted rate for use of phones and a "free" newspaper>
