We booked the Empire suite for Labor Day weekend, for a family member's destination wedding. Because it is a popular weekend, we had reserved our stay in January, to ensure we wouldn't have any issues booking a room. Imagine our surprise when I received a voicemail a couple months before our scheduled stay stating that our reservation may not be honored. Thankfully, I keep detailed receipts/e-mails/confirmations and called the B&B, providing them with this information. The entire thing was a misunderstanding but it did make us a bit weary about our upcoming stay. Thankfully, from then on everything went smoothly. The mansion itself has been painstakingly restored. Even minor details such as doorknobs and serving-ware stay true to the mansion's ambiance. Our package came with complimentary massages, Clayton has magic hands! The B&B does offer tours for those interested in learning the history of the mansion. Our suite had a writing desk, wood shutters on the windows for privacy, two walk-in closets (one under construction/unfinished), a massive bed that I needed a running start to jump up on (if you're short like me I stacked the reading chair footrest along with the bed step stool to get up on the bed), a reading nook, a couple seating areas, and an en-suite bathroom (vent didn't work and there's a balcony we wished we could have accessed). There are quite a few common areas to explore for adults and children alike. There's a playroom on the top floor that I believe accesses the tower (wished the dining packages in the tower were available). To quench your thirst a beverage station can be found next to the massage room/gift shop. The hosts offer something different for breakfast every day. Persnickety tiny humans may not like the fare. Would like to stay here again, when/if the tower becomes available again.

This house (well, mansion) is something really quite special. Every room is full of fun and fascinating photos, art, vintage furniture and so on. The bedrooms are each unique and immaculately turned out, with lovely little details, such as a cute little bear on the bed telling you about the pillow room (another cool thing: a wide selection of pillows to suit your tastes!) Best of all, though, is the host, Randy. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about the house and its history but he's one hell of a chef and deeply passionate about his food. Breakfast is an absolute treat... if you can manage it all! I highly recommend taking the tour around the mansion and spending some time just walking around the neighbouring streets to see the fascinating houses and, in autumn, the glorious red and yellow trees.

We stayed at the Allyn Mansion for our Baby Moon to celebrate the upcoming birth of our first son. The B&B was like spending the night in a museum of history and intrigue. We stayed in the EAstLake Room, which was perfect for us. We truly enjoyed the very elegant multi-course breakfast with the other guests. The food was incredible, home-made, from local ingredients. Every attention to detail was met by the kind and thoughtful staff. Even though our room didn't have a bath, I was allowed to reserve the clawfoot tub on another floor to enjoy a luxurious bath before bed. The complimentary massage was heaven . I would recommend this wonderful experience to anyone looking to relax in a romantic and historical atmosphere. I recommend going during Fall to see the leaves change and feel the spooky Halloween vibe of the area. - Sarah and Benjamin

Totally enjoyed our room, breakfast and the hospitality. The house is spectacular. Like going back to Downton Abbey days. Randy, the innkeeper, was a great source of information for dinner. He was very accommodating with requests we had. Had a great time.

We stayed at Allyn Mansion Oct 7th , we booked the peachy room with the bathroom down the hall it's a private one . So first the good , it's beautiful , warm welcoming, we were in the top floor, every room in this house is incredible , room was large, very high bed sheets we amazing , very quit , bathroom down the hall didn't bother us , plenty of hot water and good water pressure , I thought being g top floor it would be hot but it was very comfortable , 3 course breakfast offered in the morning , we didn't stay just because My hubby is a meat and potatoes kind of guy , the manager Randy offered to make French toast but we declined , Randy is a very nice guy :) lots of little extras like mini fridge stocked with water and sodas for free, beer and wine at 5:30 you get one free one , mini tablet in our room to use , we google movies and went to lake Gevena and saw a movie and had pizza , the bad is we only stayed one night :( Thanks for the great stay we will return ;)
