I found this hidden gem on TripAdvisor about 5 years ago when I was planning on issuing through the area. So we stayed here again bc it worked out well. It’s no frills, but the reviews mentioned that. And it’s expected with the name. Bring your own shampoo. Easy to find off I-77 south. Not sure what the other reviewer was talking about being hard to find. I get lost walking across the street and I found it with ease. This time we arrived at midnight, and they had a sign on the door to call a number when you arrive. It was weird, but it was fine. A man checked me in quickly. Last time I stayed we only had one bed, and I remember the room being tiny (but fine for our stay over). This time we got 2 beds and the room seems a lot bigger! Very spacious! I felt that totally safe staying here alone w my 2 daughters. …
Clean, quiet, and a good bargain for the price. Would stay their again when in Charleston. Right on the river where you can sit on the bank. Easy parking, close to a Tudors Biscuit World, a WV favorite.
My boyfriend and I stopped here for one night on our way to Chesapeake, VA. I booked online for $56 through TripAdvisor and we got a king room facing the river (didn’t have to ask for the view and there wasn’t an upcharge). The lady at the desk was friendly and our room was spacious and clean. There was a larger mini-fridge, microwave, and tv. The bathroom was spotless and I think I took the best shower I’ve had in years...strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. The bed was more firm than I’m used to, but I slept just fine. I did hear one or two trains and some road noise during the night, but I’m used to noise so it didn’t bother me. We would stay here again next time we travel this way.
A "no-frills" kind of place. Our main concern is cleanliness & the rooms were very clean (the carpet could use a shampooing, but not the worst we have seen). Simple, basic room that you can park right outside of. Beds were a little too firm and shower not all that great. One thing that did concern us was that there was just a flat sheet used for the bottom sheet, which was very easy to come off. The mattress did have a pad on the top of it, but an investment of some fitted bottom sheets would go a long way! No added amenities, like Kleenex, breakfast, etc. Good variety of TV channels & large room. Location is very hard to navigate, but very quiet area. Nice owners. Price is about what you would expect for a Budget Hotel with just the basics. If staying more than just a night, though - might look elsewhere.…
Would not recommend staying there. Motel in a bad location. Very confusing getting to the motel. The price was right though but no breakfast. Lighting was poor. No bottom fitted sheets on the beds. No Kleenex provided. A positive is that they left the outside lights of each room on all night so it was very well lit up at night outside.
