I was traveling with my family from NC to MI. It was late and needed to stop and we called the BonVoy reservation line. Prior to Covid I was Titanium Elite or above due to my international business travel and Marriott would bend over backwards to help out in situations like this. We have 4 small children and needed to have a room that could accommodate all of us which we were told would be a suite, two double beds and a pull out sofa. I have a certificate to be used on Category 4 (25K pts) hotel rooms. I realize these are not for suite rooms but that has been ignored for me in the past given the Titanium status. The Rewards person put me on hold and check with the hotel and was then told they were not willing to allow it. It seemed like a "what have you done for me lately?" kind of situation. I would have easily been ambassador status had Covid not grounded all my travel for work over the past year and a half. We needed to get off the road so I was forced to pay of a "suite" where the pull out sofa was stained and uncomfortable that my 11 year old put towels down and slept on the floor. The other 4 of us crammed into the double beds and the 1 year old was in a blow up on the floor only to hear Motor cycles revving their engines all night in between train whistles of the passing trains. I have been a Marriott customer for 13ish years and up until last year been on the higher end of status. This is the first time I felt like that didn't matter. I along with the majority of the world was forced to not travel and Four Points was basically saying you haven't done anything for me lately so you can't use the certificate, pay up. That, along with not the stay as a whole, I would not recommend this property to anyone. Quite the opposite.

The hotel itself was okay - it could definitely use some TLC. The AC in our room was very old, the tub could use caulking\updated. However, that's not my biggest complaint...my biggest concern is a staff member at the hotel by the name of Tasha (the hotel bartender) she was shockingly annoyed when I approached her for a final drink (a few minutes before 10pm). I could tell that she mentally debated if she wanted to help me and told me her cashier's drawer automatically shut down at 10pm and that she may not be able to get us drinks; no greeting, no thank you. But 20 minutes later (10:18pm to be exact) a white gentle walks up to the bar and she HAPPILY serves him a beer and cracks jokes and thanks him. I found that to be quite disturbing! Maybe she needs some racial sensitivity training??? Horrible experience and if she can't treat all people equal, then maybe she needs another job somewhere else where she has no interaction with customers! The rest of the staff was awesome but Tasha needs help, training and\or a new job.

Stayed here last Saturday-Sun. Was told at check in "THEY ONLY CLEAN ROOM IF YOU ARE STAYING FOUR DAYS . " So if you want to clean and straighten your own room; by all means stay here [Wait a minute isn't that the same as being at home?] I have no proof that room was cleaned after we left.

Our Saturday morning breakfast was fabulous. My friend and I both enjoyed the spinach omelette. We dined in Recovery the night before and several of us in the party got the salmon which was delicious. Bed pillows were among the best. Only complaint was no microwave in the room
