Peaceful place to take a breath. Comfortable accommodation nestled in the trees and valley. Hosts were relaxed, warm and helpful. Beautiful place to unwind with a book, a beer, and a fire! Nice walks along the river.

Absolute peace in nature with the sound of water and birds. Amazing hosts, including the friendly, well behaved dogs. Take your binoculars on the river walk to watch the birds. Groot Marico village, a short drive away, has two interesting information centre's about the history of the area and the biosphere.

We went to Riverstill with our 3 doggies for a breakaway. The property is absolutely stunning, with lovely trails to walk along the river. The owner of the property was very friendly and accommodating. His dogs are all very well-socialized and often accompanied us on our walks. The chalets are well-equipped and comfortable. This is definitely a place that any nature lover must visit!

Riverstill is a world on its own. I went there for peace and tranquillity in my own cottage deep in the African bush, and found it in abundance. Set in large gardens, the rustic cottages are comfortable and surrounded by natural bush teaming with birds and wildlife, at the edge of a river. The surprising element is the sense of community at Riverstill, generated by the warm hosts and an eclectic gathering of artists, philosophers, musicians and academics drawn to the farm. This is a getaway with heart and soul, definitely one to return to.

Untouched rustic beauty in the bush are the first words that come to mind. The 5 stars are for the peace and tranquility, our hosts Jacques and Louise and the lovely, simple accommodation. The fact that it's pet friendly is a big bonus, although the cottages are not fenced in for pets. The river is a short walk away from the cottages, which are decorated simply and have their own unique identity. Having said that, the bed was really comfortable, fantastic shower, everything you need in the kitchen. Pretty view from the verandah and cool with all the trees in the heat of summer. This is not your "typical" 5 star city equivalent of a glam establishment but rather a place of peace and serenity, which resonates more with me, hence my 5 stars! Loved our stay and we'll be back to try out an experience in another cottage.…

It was a pleasure of the most rare to stay at Riverstill Guest Farm. The area are fine and the chalets are excellent. There are no security except at least four big male dogs. They know everything you are doing and they follow you everywhere. They are gentle, alert and were nice to have around. And you get a very nice kop of coffee at the resting area. This is also a place with very nice flora and fauna. Many trees and bushes of exotic kind. It is a place you think back on white a high level of pleasure.

It is a beautiful location and the river is lovely to swim in. It is so peaceful and the owners are very hospitable, even sharing access to their herb garden. The farm dogs are friendly and provide a relaxed feeling of security. The cottages are homely and rustic and rather than cold and luxurious in atmosphere. The owner's metal artworks, the paths along the river and labyrinth all add a particular charm.

Amazing venue and very informative Jacques and partner make you very comfortable. Peace and tranquility. Dirt road to the farm was bit ruff after all the rains otherwise it was an excellent overnight stay. If you want to rest and be away from it all then this is the venue for you. Cheers

We spent 2 night, 3 days at Riverstill. This is our second stay here - on the banks of the Groot Marico River. The rustic cottage fronts onto the riverine vegetation and the sounds of the African bush envelope one day and night. It's good to cool off after a day on the road in the river and to appreciate the clear sky and stars at night. Jacques was very hospitable and able to answer our many questions about the flora and fauna - and more. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

I think it is a special place to which one could return. Ideal for a weekend break or little personal retreat. Enough privacy from the other cabins. It is dog friendly which was important to me. Friendly Hosts. Groceries shopping is poor in Groot Marico so plan in advance.
