Had the cabin fever. Needed to get out of the county for a bit. First stop, only cuz I've never stayed there but only gambled, was Legends casino. Guess the hotel was recently renovated. Upon entering the hotel, you are greeted by staff who take your temperature and offer complimentary masks if you need one. Yes, masks are required on premises at the time of this review. Check in, all things considered, was pretty expedient. When I arrived, there were only two guests being checked in, myself and one other. Upon my checking in, I was asked if I wanted to have coffee in my room, when I said yes I was given a small bag filled with some coffee essential items. K-cups, creamer, sugar and other coffee knick knacks. I was also given a small covid relief bag filled with two disposable masks, hand sanitizer and other covid relief items. The room was nice, ground floor king bed room, very spacious. And it came with a seating area with coffee table, writing desk, and big dresser with television on top. Also had a mini fridge. The bed, although a king, was a little beyond firm, and I like a firm bed, but was a tad too hard for me. The pillows it had were nice and fluff. The blankets kept you at the right temperature while the AC was on. The bathroom, very spacious for a bathroom, had only an open shaower with very good steady water pressure. Cold water was cold and hot was water maintained consistent heat for some time. Only problem with the shower was the curtain, fabric shower curtain. If it became too wet the water ended up on the bathroom floor. Towels were soft and toiletries were basic. One of the major drawbacks I found with the hotel, the ice machine did not dispense ice. That had to be requested from the front desk and they'd bring it to your room. Casino floor was big for where the casino is located. Lotta good machines, decent payouts. The food options weren't all the many, if any at all. What used to be the buffet is now a sit down restaurant. There is a coffee shop by the lobby of the hotel. Gift shop as well. The pool is small compared to the hotel. Overall, I bet this place is a small excellent getaway whenever things get back to normal. If you're not a local, there isn't much to do around the casino. Yakima is a 30 min drive north of Legends. But if you're just looking for a small quiet getaway, this place will have you covered. Would I stay here again? Possibly when things return to normal. Would o recommend this place to others? Of course, if all they wanna do is gamble. Is it worth the cost of admission? Yes.

The check-in process, when you rent a room at Legends, is a guaranteed wait, up to half-hour & no checking in early. It’s 4:53pm & there’s a big line. We’re going on an hour wait to check in. Understandable in a big city but not Toppenish, Wa.

We can allow early check-in if the room is ready, but it’s always best to call ahead to verify that the room has been released. Stayed there on 2/13/2021. Rooms and hotel were very nice. Food was good, but the customer service was terrible, starting from when we got there and they told us we couldn't use the masks we had, a clear plasone and a gaiter. Any other casino would have let us in with what we had. The lady servings dinner was extremely rude. Didn't get silverware or butter when our food came and when we asked, she acted like it was too much of an inconvenience for her. Will.never be back and will not recommend to anyone.

After a horrific day of travel for what was thought as a fun way to spend the day, we were met with IMMEDIATE disappointment before we even got through the door! We were greeted by a very rude young lady on Feb 14th at the door checking for masks. She proceeded to tell me that my mask was not acceptable because she could "see through it" and my husband's was not acceptable because it was a "gator" mask. {one you wear around your neck and pull up" . I attempted to explain that they both met the Governor's criteria for masking purposes. Her response" Well that's nice, they won't work here at Legends!" I invite anyone to read the WA mask criteria- a scarf, a face covering of some sort, etc. It is so unfortunate that the casino employs young people such as this, who think the little bit of authority they may have been given to provide guidance can go straight to their head. These same masks have been worn at Snoqualmie Casino, Northern Quest Casino, Wildhorse Casino, numerous businesses, government offices, banks, dr. offices and the list goes on. The sadder part is Legends does not have an alternative such as "while we don't accept your mask, we can offer you one of the disposable ones here at the door. {Something that is free to businesses from the local health depts as part of the Covid 19 Ppe) Needless to say hours of driving, total disrespect and complete rudeness by one individual just ruined the rest of the day. Safe to say we will NOT be back. We can only hope that young lady gets some proper training on dealing with the public as well as what is acceptable under the Governor's mandate in phase 2!!!

Legends Casino Hotel is located on the Yakama Reservation, and we are subject to both tribal and federal laws. In developing our COVID-19 protocols, we used the CDC’s guidelines for masks that are and are not acceptable in a public environment. You can find the CDC’s guidelines here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/about-face-coverings.html. Those that are not acceptable include single ply masks (gators fall in this category) or clear face shields. We’ve placed signs at our entries to help guests understand which masks are acceptable on our property. However, our team should have not only further explained our COVID protocols in a pleasant manner but offered you a surgical mask as a replacement prior to entry. We’ve shared your experience with both our directors and our COVID protocol team, and we’ll further train our team regarding the best way to work with our valued guests. we were just at Legends and they had a server problem in part of the casino, which make it so some of the machines wouldn't cash out. We had to wait almost an hour to get our hand written cash voucher. While waiting, I'd asked several employees how long was this going to take, I was IGNORED! the employees literally turned their backs to me. I also asked several employees if we were going to be "comped" something from the buffet for the wait. I was told "that's not my decision", "I don't know" or "you'll have to ask someone else". I finally spoke with the correct person only to be told "we have your name, if you come back tomorrow, we'll call you" I wasn't going to be in the area tomorrow. I couldn't get my Tuesday give away because of technical difficulties. No " sorry for the wait" nothing, I think they were just hoping people would get tired of waiting and leave without being given a hand written voucher
