Some of the staff is very friendly but one young woman at the front desk in the morning doesn’t seem very pleasant. I think she’s trying to be professional but it comes across as something else. The location is ok if you have business in Tacoma as I did. The swimming pool

Hi kjaidaho, Thank you for the review, as it gives us the opportunity to learn and improve. I'm sorry your stay was tarnished due to the room decor and level of customer service received from the front desk staff. This is not the kind of 5-star stay that we aim to provide for our wonderful guests. I will make sure that your comments will be forwarded to the hotel's upper management for review. This will help us understand how we can improve and continue to deliver great hotel experiences. On a positive note, I am happy to read you found our rooms to be generally comfortable and our hotel facilities excellent. Comfort and convenience is our utmost priority and we always aim to exceed guest's expectations. It is always encouraging to hear feedback from our guests. Your business with IHG is important and we hope to have another opportunity to welcome you back for the perfect visit that you deserve. Best, Zel N. Case Manager IHGService

I did swim in the pool with my grandson. It was about 4' or 5' deep and I did swim a few laps but I don't think it was 25yds. Maybe half that size. I would ask the hotel.

No, it was extremely small. Maybe 10 people max but would be pushing it because people would most likely be getting in each other's way, especially with young children.
