First let me say, that I left 3 messages for the General Manager to call me to discuss my concerns before posting this review. Still not heard back from him, so posting my subjective experiences of this property. First, let me say it's location is Top Notch. It's New, Clean and Beautiful. I've stayed before, and brought some of these concerns to the leadership, but they've gone uncorrected. 1. As you arrive from the underground parking, you can enter the Hotel from the 2nd Floor of the Garage. You'll find two Parking Elevators, and a Glass Door. The door does not have a Card Reader, and those doors are often locked, although I've been told by the Front Desk they should be open during daytime hours. There is no way to get into the hotel. As a cheat, call the elevator. When it arrives, tap your key, then press 2 and the other side of the elevator will open. Unfortunately, the Digital Key was down during my stay, so I had to take all my luggage, ride down to the lobby, go to the desk and get a plastic key. Not what I want do do during Covid. 2. On my first morning, I was getting breakfast in the M Club. A woman arrived without a Mask (WA is mandating masks indoors, and Marriott had signs all over that masks were required). As she was standing in her slippers and nightie that barley covered her bottom, she began to interact with the lounge attendant, who appeared to know her. She was expressing how she and her husband had been ill with high fever, cough, and GI Distress. Reportedly he was now hungry, so she was getting him food. SHE NEEDED A MASK. I do my best not to "Engage" with these people, but as a Registered Nurse who has been living the horror of Covid for 18 months, I asked the attendant why he hadn't asked her to don a mask. He acknowledged that he should be "Better at it", and would do so next time. So much for my eggs and bacon. 3. Two days later, I was waiting for the down elevator when it opened with two masked guests. I asked if I could join. Seeing me in my scrubs they quipped that they were nurses, fully vaccinated, and I was welcome to join. As the doors began to close, the unmasked woman from M Club slipped her hands in the closing doors. I asked if she would wait for the next car since we were had 2 parties, and she remained unmasked. She complied, but was verbal in her displeasure. As I was making my coffee in the M Club, she came in, without her mask, and began to taunt me, telling me it wasn't my business to ask her to wear a mask. I knocked on the kitchen and asked the attendant to request her to mask. He seem confused. I asked him to call a manager. The guest continued to taunt me. I reminded her about her tale of being ill, and said that she needed a mask in the public areas. She then expressed that her husband was in the hospital. I wondered if she should even be interacting with guest with our without a mask. The attendant came out..again seeming confused and said the desk wasn't answering. I picked up the house phone on the bar, dialed 0 and they answered immediately. I asked for a manager. The woman continued her taunts, telling me "Your masked won't help if it get in your eyes you know"...then began to cough aggressively in my direction as if to get her sputum in my face. She then left. At this point another guest came to me and said he had witnessed the situation, and wondered why she was allowed in, stating she was there often without a mask. When one of the managers arrived (I believe he's Front Office and is usually helpful), listened to my concerns, and apologized, but said I shouldn't have engaged with her. I expressed that I'd asked on two occasions to have staff address the issue, and that it was she who engaged me. I was only responding to her attack. I was indeed angry, agitated, but should have never been placed in that situation. I asked that the GM call to discuss the incident with me. That never happened. I had asked to have my recycling picked up and that towels be left outside my door. I was very clear I didn't want housekeeping in my room, and made sure the DND sign was on. Upon returning home, I found that housekeeping had come in my room and placed the towels in the room. Again, I called asking for a call back from the GM about that, and the M Club encounter No response. As I was leaving on Friday morning, I saw the MOD and yet again, asked for a call from the GM. Nothing. Today as I was doing my Expense Report, I see they charged me $5.00 after check out for a bottle of water. I asked that it be adjusted, since even though the M Club was often out of water, that I had never seen a "Fee water" in my room, nor had I used it. I was told that I would have to speak with accounting and sent to their Voice Mail. Again, after more

Nice building, very poor service. They charge you left and right for everything you can and cannot imagine. Yet the service is no where near what it should be for the price. We purchased the breakfast package which was supposed to cover two adults and two children. In the hotel we were told the package only covers $40. But the cheapest item in the menu was $15 and it took more than 30 minutes to get an omelet. In the room the faucet doesn’t have enough pressure. The towels are not replaced. There is no microwave oven.

We stayed here for 3 days while dropping off our daughter at a nearby University. We arrived late and tired and were greeted by Devin the manager. He had a very nice man help us with our many bags and made sure we had everything we needed. He is friendly, professional and obviously cares about the guest experience. On our first morning my husband had an early morning call and Devin made sure he was set up in the M lounge. We enjoyed the M lounge every morning and Marcus made sure we had everything we need. We are Platinum members and found this Marriott to have outstanding service. We also enjoyed a drink in the on-site restaurant and our room was brand new and very clean. We had everything we needed. We are excited to have found such a great place to stay when we are in Tacoma and will be back soon.

We spent 2 nights here as a Lifetime Titanium member on August 1 in this brand new Marriott in Downtown Tacoma. Paid $164 per night. Parking was an extra $22 per night. I applied 2 Suite Night certificates and it cleared a couple of days prior. We were given Room 2311. Our room had a mini fridge and a safe and a separate living area which we really did not use. It also had a nice view of Downtown Tacoma. Due to my status, I was given access to the M Club where we had a hot buffet breakfast which started at 6:30 am until 9 am. There were hot hors d'oeuvres from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Dessert from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm - this was really cookies when I popped down to see what was served. The M Club was available 24 hours a day for me to grab coffee, water, soda and snacks (chips). Alcohol was fee based. I did not have any complaints other than the $22 per night parking fee which seemed high. They ask that you take a photo of your license plate and the charge is billed directly to your room. We had little interaction with the staff other than check in and check out. The person in the M Club was friendly and nice. On the morning of check out, we were leaving at 5 am and I wanted to apply a gift card. There was only a manager on duty who luckily knew what he was doing and helped me out even though the system was down. Fast speed WiFi was complimentary for me due to my status. No complaints. Overall, I do recommend this property if you need to stay in Downtown Tacoma and don't mind paying the parking fee.

There's nothing special, No free parking $22/day No free breakfast, No free internet $15/day. Never cleaned or changed towels or filled coffee bags in our 3 days stay. Horrible experience.. never to a Marriott again..
