We chose a vacation in Virginia Beach specifically to come to the Cavalier Hotel. This hotel was recommended by my sister who stayed at the Marriott across the street and tried the spa. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The decor is very elegant but comfortable. There are many cozy places to read a book or just sit on the lawn chairs with coffee in the morning. The hotel offers many surprising extras including classes (we tried Meditation and Mimosas on the beach), lemon sorbet at the Beachclub and evening warm cookies delivered to your room. While everything is modern at the hotel the feeling is very old world including the service and hospitality. The artwork really helps you appreciate the rich history of the the hotel ( built originally in 1927) and its famous guests (including Presidents). The staff is very warm and friendly, We tried all the restaurants including Becca, Hunts Room, Orion, and Tulu and would recommend them all. The hotel experience was worth the 6 hour drive and I would enjoy coming back.

A beautiful hotel with a little history and amazing design. Choose a suite if possible on a high floor. The view and Beach Club were slightly spoilt by the building of a new Embassy Suites. Hotel has friendly staff that make you welcome. Plenty of good quality restaurants to choose from. We ate at the Hunt Room, Becca and Orion’s at the Marriott across the street. Great bar area and lovely lawns to sit outside with a cocktail. Highly recommend.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! The staff was friendly and very helpful. We had two outstanding waiters, we had dinner outside on the patio at Becca's. The dinner was delicious and our waiter Cole was very attentive, it was very hot and humid but he never complained. We had breakfast also at Becca's and Sean Johnson was our waiter, he also was wonderful! Our room was very clean and tastefully decorated. I hope to go back again next year.

Can’t say enough about hotel . It was clean and beautiful. The pool area is like a resort. You felt like you were on an island. Staff and front desk were so friendly and professional. A special shout out to our server Sean at Becca. This is our third visit to Virginia Beach and was so happy he was our server. He has a great personality and takes great care of us . We are definitely going back.Highly recommend.Don’t miss Raleigh Room for cocktails.

Amazing luxurious hotel. Beautiful spotless beach club. Loved the indoor pool for night swimming. Delicious drinks in beautiful lobby. Great activities like cupcake decorating, wine tasting!, wine and paint. Wine tasting with the somalier was the best! Little snacks by the pool sometimes. Distillery visit was cool. Shuttle service very nice. Located in a nice upscale section of va. Beach away from crowds. Grounds were gorgeous. I would love to come back again. I used to travel to Florida for luxurious vacations but this was so luxurious and we could drive there. The rooms were renovated spacious and lovely. Kids loved the nightly cookies. I loved the scent in the lobby. It wasn’t a chemical fragrance it was like fresh flowers mixed with a hint of fireplace. I am so sick of hotel lobbies with fake scents that are too strong. This hotel was wonderful keep up the good work. High level of luxury, exactly what I hoped for and more.
