This is one of the nicest B&B's I've stayed in. Clean & friendly. My friend and I loved it especially having our own bathrooms. Instant relaxation, beautiful views, great hosts and the best breakfast.

Fritz and Brenda were delightful hosts and the accommodation was top notch. Every attention to detail was taken care of, we're looking forward to coming back and staying again! The ample breakfast provided was fresh and delicious, and Brenda even made some yummy muffins for my Dad and I to take on our travels! First class hospitality :)

We stayed at Bay River B&B three nights. The owners Brenda and Frits were warm and friendly, their generosity both in time and supply of nourishment unbelievable. Accommodation, outstanding - sensitively designed independent living, spotlessly clean. There is an availability for couples travelling together with rooms and ensuite so side by side. Brenda and Frits made our Bay of Islands trip memorable with recommendations of out of the way sites that many don't visit. Located seven minutes south of the main settlement, an excellent place to retire in a bush land setting yet overlooking an estuary, sipping a wine seated on a beautifully crafted deck. It was so wonderful!!

I can't even begin to describe how amazing and royal this B&B makes you feel. We were looking for a nice cheap place to stay near Paihia and we certainly found it at Bay River. It is a home away from home and Fritz and Brenda (the owners) generally care about those who stay at their B&B. The house is separate to theirs and it is so tidy, it even has a grand piano! They turn the heater on for you so that you come back to a warm home. The bathroom and bedroom are simple and clever. The view is also honestly so breath taking! They have cool touches to their place - if you look at the photo album near the door you will find that they have an album of how they built the place! My favourite aspect was the robes they had in our bedroom! Pink for the lady and black with white trimmings for the man! Everything about this place was top notch, I hope many people read this and decide to visit them. The people and dogs are lovely and the view is stunning! I will definitely be back again! <3

We stayed at Bay River B&B for one night in February. We were warmly greeted by our hosts Frits and Brenda. Our accommodation was excellent - recently built so everything was brand new. We were very comfortable and Bay River is a wonderful private and peaceful location. Breakfast was exceptional and plentiful - thank you for the wonderful blueberry muffins and egg and bacon pie. We hope to return next year with our overseas visitors. Jenny & John Pankhurst
