We’ve have recently returned from a week at this hotel, it’s spotlessly clean and the pool area is lovely and spacious however for me not 5*. My reasons for this are: the food in the buffet restaurant wasn’t always hot and the choice was a bit repetitive. Breakfast was ok but poached eggs should be cooked to order not left on a plate to get cold and then thrown away. The a la carte restaurants are ok but the grill served a jacket potato with a bit of melted rubber cheese, for me not acceptable. Oceana was ok as was Portofino. The staff work hard but didn’t really seem to be happy apart from Jovi in the bar who really did interact with the guests and had a lovely personality. There’s no daily entertainment which is a shame as there’s more than enough room to not disturb guests who don’t want to join in to do maybe boules or shuffleboard. The evening entertainment is a bit hit and miss and def not enough room on occasions to get a seat and it’s over at 10.30. I spoke to a fair few people who had chosen to eat at the marina which has some very good restaurants but when you’ve paid for all inclusive it’s shame to have to pay out for different food elsewhere. We were not “Preffered” guests and the upgrade for us was definitely not worth the money so we are pleased we saved our money and stay as “unpreferred guests” We visited this hotel when it was called Hysperia and you could use all of the hotel and pools and we had a wonderful time which is why we returned but unfortunately this visit wasn’t up to the 5* standard as we had expected so we won’t be returning again.

Myself and my husband went for a day trip to the spa here and it was pure bliss. The spa facilities were incredible and the treatments were so relaxing. Everything about the place was the epitome of a relaxing spa experience. The staff were so kind and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back before we head home

We stayed here for a week recently. The hotel is lovely as well as the pools, but in my opinion the staff don’t interact enough. There were only a few which you could have a laugh with, in particular Jovi. The rest were pleasant and did there job well but hardly said a word. The restaurants are good but not outstanding, Oceana was our favourite but could do with table cloths for that finishing touch. One thing which I didn’t agree with was the “preferred guests”. I have no problem with their rooms being positioned best and with better facilities, but do not agree that they have their own pool and sun areas. As well as this the hotel only has 2 pool bars and one of them is preferred only! Lastly, if they are the preferred guest from the hotel point of view, what are the remainder of the guests?…”not preferred”

Just got back from this holiday, we booked it through DialAFlight and they yet again found us this lovely hotel. Right from the start it was a fantastic experience, we took the advice to go preferred guest all inclusive and all i can say was this really enhanced our holiday experience. Great food, great drinks, beautiful room, super friendly staff, with one exception this was SOS Red Cross pool staff, if you don’t want to work there change Jobs. The staff are really the hotels best feature, they work very very hard, and are so friendly, there has to be a but, but there are at times not enough, so the ones that are there run around like headless chickens, but were on holiday so a sort wait is not a problem for us, but it is for some. I have to be totally honest this was a super holiday at a superb hotel, with extremely hard working staff, who at time need a good pat on the back and a bonus, you will always get the people who have one off putting experience, and complain, but there really is nothing to have to complain about, which somebody wont do everything to put it right, BRAVO !!!

I'm perplexed by some of the recent reviews. We had the most fantastic stay at Secrets Lanzarote. We were welcomed at reception by Konte. It was the warmest welcome I have ever received at a hotel. The first thing said was 'welcome home'. Such a lovely touch and you were put at ease straight away. We arrived early afternoon so we had to wait a few hours for our room. We were offered (multiple!) glasses of champagne, a cold towel and shown where we could eat some lunch. There are multiple restaurants to eat in. We enjoyed the grill restaurant, however some of our side dishes were cold. The a la carte restaurants also have a limited menu. The world buffet restaurant does get a bit repetitive, but it was all good quality food, well cooked and seasoned. If I had been here for more than 5 days I probably would have got bored of the food choices. The rooms are lovely, the beds are very comfy and it is attractively decorated. We had to ask for an iron and a kettle at reception (they had a coffee machine in the room) . Within 10 minutes Konte had sorted it and they were in the room! Nothing was too much trouble for the reception team, the waiting staff and the bar staff. It was definitely service with a smile! The swimming pool areas were all really clean and well maintained. Some people did reserve sunbeds, however there were always some available. The entertainment at the hotel was a bit hit and miss. The live singers were all really good. If you're looking for a hotel with lots of entertainment then this is probably not the right hotel for you. If you're looking for ultimate relaxation then don't hesitate to book. I would recommend this hotel and can't wait to come back! Thank you to all the staff for helping us to relax and have 4 days off of mummy duties!

We checked in and our package was explained to us, our room was beautifully clean and was serviced daily to a superb standard. Breakfast - buffet style all items replenished regularly, staff super helpful and friendly. Individual restaurants- our preference was Oceana - Lobster Bisque ***** any menu changes were explained, staff were willing to make recommendations. choices limited but everything was very very good . Would recommend ! Customer Experience desk - I can honestly say we were well taken care of - due to recent medical issues I could not use the sun beds and Laura was wonderful and sorted a solution for me - I could not feel more grateful for the personal touch ( nice to feel an organisation/ person goes out out of it’s way to make something special happen) Thank you ! A home away from home

The place is a 5* hotel the restaurants are great and if you can push to the Preferred package the benefits open up the true beauty of this hotel. Above all the staff are exceptional. You know they have a career and not just a job . Special mention has to go to Jovaira who’s customer skills are brilliant to watch and receive .

From arrival to departure a really enjoyable stay. Made the more pleasurable by the high quality of the hotel. Several pools and restaurants serving first rate food. The fish restaurants and grill were delightful. Fresh sushi was a great addition to the hotel fayre. The marina is a short walk for exercise and a coffee in the sunshine. A special shout out to the staff - Manu, Claudia , Alexandra and especially Laura who added so much to our stay with her very personal attention. An asset to the hotel. Others in the pool bar, buffet, Italian restaurant are not forgotten. For once a hotel that delivers on promise. We will be back

Arrived late evening first impressions wow, greeted with bubbles and a cold towel and a friendly face. We upgraded to preferred club to be able to get premium drinks as on the all inclusive package there is a supplement , this also allows you into the preferred pool , pool bar for lunch, and the portofino restaurant for breakfast. In the 2 weeks we have stayed here we have noticed that the hotel is very understaffed, but the staff work incredibly hard and are very friendly and helpful. We had to que several times during our stay to get into the al a carte restaurants in the evenings and on one occasion for an hour, by this time certain main courses where no longer available. This is totally unacceptable at a so called 5 star hotel. On 3 occasions in the evenings the piano bar had run out of Jack Daniels and Grey Goose Vodka . The following day we complained to the guest experience team about this issue who told us they would look into it. They got back to us saying that this has been rectified but a couple of nights later the grey goose had ran out again! We complained again the morning after and was told they would look into this. Speaking to other guests general consensus is some premium drinks are restricted to one bottle per night !!!! The following morning we was told that the bar would be fully stocked for the rest of our stay which it seemed to be ! Did we enjoy our 2 weeks here yes apart from several issues that we should not have had to endure. Would we say it’s 5 star luxury? NO . We have stayed at other 5 star hotels and 4 star plus that In our opinion are far better, we have never had to que for evening dinner or ran out of alcohol. Would we return to this hotel? Unfortunately No

Nice hotel but food was dreadful. Went all inclusive, so tried all alacart restaurants and most had the same menu. Food was awful in all. World cafe was ok for breakfast provided you stuck to omelette or freshly cooked eggs. This hotel is not a 5 star ⭐️ I would give it 3 stars ⭐️ at most. Entertainment was normally finished by 11pm, was not very good but did have a good singer on evening. Day time entertainment was practically non existent. We were promised water aerobics every day but instructor only showed up twice. Overall was very disappointed ☹️ with this long awaited holiday. Went with Jet2 flights etc brilliant but no coach turned on our departure morning.
