NOSSO PARAISO

Customer service, second to none... and very good value!

The Residencial Nosso Paraiso is a B&B, located in a very charming area of the Algarve, called Quarteira, with lovely beaches, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. There is a beautiful and picturesque promenade where the artisans sell their handcrafted objects in the evenings. Also a famous craft and food market every wednesday morning. The trendy Vilamoura harbour-front resort with its lively, stylish and upmarket lifestyle is just a mile or so away, with nice bars and restaurants, beaches, golf courses, nightclubs and a casino. So, what about the Nosso Paraiso? This is without a doubt a simple, unpretentious, familiar and welcoming place that stands out for the friendly nature, kindness and cordiality of the owners and staff, who could not do enough for their guests. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. Both, my room and en-suite bathroom were fresh, spotlessly clean and tidy. I was very much impressed with the high quality of the bed linen and towels provided, they were beautifully embroidered with the Nosso Paraiso crest. The bathroom fixtures were basic, but in good working order, and the shower water pressure was very good. There was a good sized wardrobe in the room with a safe in it. As I suffer from chronic back pain, I am a very light sleeper. So, my concerns were with the bed/mattress, noise levels and ambient light in the room. Fortunately, none of these were an issue and I had excellent nights sleep. The bed was quite comfortable and the bedding also very good, with soft, extra pillows provided when I requested them. In spite of the Nosso Paraiso being fully booked, my room was very quiet and relaxing. The balcony's doors had a special external blind that covered its entire length, which allows you to adjust the intensity of light in the room as required - from pitch black all the way to fully lit - Just perfect! The air conditioning... The 'cherry on the cake'! Essential for the hot summer days in the Algarve. It was great, powerful and very quiet. It took less than three minutes to cool the room down, when temperatures had soared to 35C - Total chilled bliss! There is a small TV in the room, showing satellite channels in Portuguese, English, French, German, Russian and Spanish. Old fashioned TV model? Yes, but hey, who cares for TV when you are in the sunny Algarve? In my room the signal was perfectly fine. If I had to pick a fault, then it would be the rooms WIFI signal.... Despite all the owner's efforts to have the WiFi working in my room, it didn't. But it was perfectly fine and a fast connection was available (free of charge) in the public areas. Oddly, just outside my room, on the top floor the connection was perfect, so maybe until they get a better connection, a sitting area outside the rooms would be a nice touch! Oh yes, and a mini-fridge in the rooms would be great! This property does not seem to be suitable for people with mobility impairments, as there are no lifts. My room was on the third floor and I had six flights of stairs to get there, not steep ones though, but still. Fortunately I had help with my luggage and it was taken quickly and safely to my room when I arrived. Another thing to bear in mind is, you will not be able to pay for your stay using a debit or credit card, as they only accept cash payments. But there are cash machines nearby, so it is not a big deal. There are 16 rooms in the building over three floors, so I asked the owner if he could show me one of the family rooms. It was very big and had a big balcony, ideal for couple with kids. The owner informed me they also have a room for a larger party of up to five people, but I cannot comment on that accommodation, as I did not see it. On the day of my departure I enjoyed the entire day walking around the area, as I had been allowed to store my luggage at the Nosso Paraiso after checking-out. This was on a complimentary basis. This allowed me to make the most of my final day in the Algarve. The Nosso Paraiso provided me with a transfer to the airport for a fee, which was cheaper than a taxi. I was collected on time and arrived with plenty of time to check-in at the airport, a totally hassle free experience! It was a really enjoyable stay, in a good location and to repeat, the owners and staff are great people! If you are looking for luxury and glamour, you might want to stay somewhere else. But if a tranquil and homely place, with a family atmosphere appeals to you, then this is the place for you. I just wanted to say a big thank you to Fernando and Marcia (the owners) for the very enjoyable and relaxing time I had in the Residencial Nosso Paraiso... I will be back soon! :)…

Fantastic value great friendly staff. Highly recommended

Went there for 3 nights for the Masters Golf. Very friendly. Could not do enough for us. The place was spotless and well managed. Made us feel like home. Good location, walking into town to a lot of restaurants. Will re-book for next years Golf.
