We stayed in the 501 for bed and "breakfast" for 6 days and nights. Firstly the rooms are lovely and clean and spacious. Beds are comfy and the bathrooms are decent. Blinds and lights are electronic and there are USB ports and air conditioning. The cleaners do a great job and the linen & towels are fresh and clean. The corridors and rooms smell amazing.
We went to the hotel restaurant on the first night. I wouldn't recommend it at all. The food was really quite bad. The Gamberoni were frozen and smelled awful. They came on a plain lettuce leaf with some strips of carrot with no dressing. My husband was served a glass of brown wine and the waiter was extremely impatient and rude. I left all of my food. The breakfast were also dreadful. Dried up pastries and warm yoghurt or some fruit, stale cereal or a strange egg and cheese thing that wasn't warm or cold. The coffee was good though. We went to the bar one lunchtime and asked if we could order a sandwich and they looked at us like we had asked for the moon. They said the kitchen was closed. Somebody did manage to make us a cheese on toast after some persuasion.
The pool is down 49 steps with no lift and no access for anyone with mobility issues. No mattresses on the beds and no complimentary towels. It is a deep pool so not suitable for children.
Over all the whole hotel in the public areas and pool area is tired and shabby and needs updating and a good clean and tidy. We actually got bitten by either fleas or mosquitos living in a sofa in reception. They need to rethink their breakfast and maybe offer a bar menu. 501 has lost its shine but it could quite easily get it back with a little polishing.

The common areas - lobby and restaurant - are renovated and very pleasant, the restaurant overlooks the hotel pool and a little away you can see the sea. The rooms, however, remained as furnishings in the seventies, despite the home automation for lights and shutters. If at least they took out the carpet and put a decent hairdryer in the bathroom then there would be quite a qualitative leap. Dinner and service did not excite us, let's say acceptable

A 70s Hôtel, large, majestic in certain rooms, with quality finishes even if, in the common areas you can see the 70s setting. The rooms seem new. A complete and superior quality hotel, a good breakfast - a suggestion: a American coffee machine is cheap but offers a great service - complete with both sweet and savory options and a restaurant room at the level of the hotel. A great stay

It was a nice hotel in the 70s. It has remained almost the same. And that's not a compliment.
Apart from the structure which deserves a more decisive overhaul than the one they claim to have carried out years ago, the services provided are no longer up to the standard of a decent hotel.
In the room for two only one towel and one bath towel. We thought it was a mistake, but our friends in the other room also received similar treatment.
In the breakfast room, there is no one to welcome you and when you approach the counter to ask for a cappuccino, the staff ignore you, cheerfully continuing their conversation. The hairdryer in the bathroom is just powerful enough to dry slowly, certainly not to style your hair with a brush. The welcome kit is limited to the essentials. Don't even think for a moment about slippers. Two solitary bottles of water in the minibar.
In the corridors the carpet is threadbare and in some places even torn. Website “under construction” (since who knows when and who knows for how long).
In conclusion, from a renowned hotel to a decadent hotel and absolutely not adequate for its 4 stars.
Those who stay there may well think that Calabria needs to make a leap in quality in terms of professional hospitality. Urgently.

Restaurant experience in this property whose location dominates the gulf with stunning views... we had dinner on a Saturday... Very friendly staff and excellent quality food. Very welcoming and well organized. Quite fast service, well cooked and implanted dishes with a touch of class of the super Chef Filippo n.1... very very professional....

"Hotel 501" is a hotel with large undeveloped spaces, old and dirty furniture. The room, a suite with carpet, gave me the feeling of dirty and heavy, not fresh furniture. Breathtaking view. Breakfast 🍳☕ without products from the buffet area, very sparse and disappointing. Very large and beautiful pool except for a small accident with a fairly large mouse encountered in the changing room next to the pool, never change your clothes, I recommend we only had lunch once, nothing exceptional. I don't recommend

Like many years, at the end of my holiday I always spend one or two nights in this hotel to visit the wonderful places nearby.
I was a little disappointed with the breakfast which was not worthy of a 4 star hotel... (I have a lot of experience in 4 or 5 star hotels regarding breakfast etc...) this breakfast was very poor compared to last year,
I asked for a scrambled egg, it looked like I asked for the moon.. Mha!!! In the end ok don't worry I don't want it anymore they forgot. In the end a very inexperienced waiter boy with poor cooking skills (he told me that I need an egg or two I'll make them straight away... I'm not calm, he insisted ok I accept) the egg arrives worse than an omelette... honestly a 4 star hotel without the scope of scrambled eggs with bacon seems absurd to me..
breakfast is better not to comment on it.
The rest is ok, everything is excellent except for the shower. I recommend a small shower head as it is more comfortable to shower.
The rest cleaning ok location reception staff ok
Everything was fine except breakfast which is very important to me.

Hotel with a view of the Gulf of Sant'Eufemia
And on the Tyrrhenian Sea up to Stromboli. The swimming pool is beautiful, the rooms are large and comfortable but the
Carpet should be replaced by now. Breakfast is of a medium-low level (and there is a lack of savory products, perhaps even local ones), but the Congress Hall is good.

Stayed during a group tour. It certainly has potential, but it needs a good renovation and reorganization. I read on the site that it was recently renovated but not the rooms we stayed in (we changed two due to the problems encountered)
Among the positive aspects are the dinner and the sea view. Breakfast certainly needs to be improved due to the limited variety of options; furthermore, when we arrived at 8, we found the trays almost empty and they were only partially replenished
