Detailed Reviews
We travelled with a 3 year old and I was worried the apartment may be too small. We booked a 1 bed that has bunk beds in an alcove. In fact, the bunk beds had their own separate room which suited us perfectly. My daughter loved her room and it was plenty big enough for 2 children.
The apartment was small, but you get what you pay for. It was perfect for us, we were out snowboarding all day and was only there in the mornings and evenings. It had lots of useful extras: dressing gowns, dish cloth, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, tea towels, one loo roll on arrival (you have to buy more), duvets and not blankets, bathroom towels, hairdryer. We were very happy with our stay.
Only negative is check in time is FROM 5pm. We got back to the apartments at just before 5pm and they could not tell us when we would be able to get into our apartment. Having left home in the UK at 2:45am, it was a very long day with a young family and all we wanted to do was get in, unpacked and to bed!! We did get our keys just after 5pm, but I'm not sure if that was because I had a little moan!!
They do a croissant and baguette delivery which you need to order by 6pm to collect at 8am. The pool was lovely, we only went once mid morning, and we were the only ones there. I would suggest taking your dressing gowns and going back to the apartment to get changed as there were only 2 small changing rooms which would not work if you have kids. Even though it was the winter season, the walk back was quick and not too cold!
Ski lockers were very handy with ski in ski out.
Apartment was very quiet, we heard neighbours a bit during the busy time ie dinner, but that was it. We had great views over the slopes and mountain.
We booked through Crystal Ski on a package deal.

So, we have used PandV several times for skiing. This residence is not as good as the usual ‘Premium’ rated residences. However, the price reflects that.
If you are arriving after 7pm call ahead, otherwise you won’t be able to get your keys. In other Premium PandV residences, there has been someone on reception in the evenings. This place is locked up and your keys will be in a lock box with a code and if you don’t know the code you aren’t getting in! Out of hours phone number isn’t answered.
-ves
Tired decor
A little bit grubby around the edges (typical of standard French ski residences, but Premium PandV usually better)
no bar/restaurant in the building
Ski lockers not heated
Floor of ski lockers basically one big puddle (take some shoes down)
Bunk beds in alcove are small - a bit tight if you are travelling with teens
+ves
Three lifts up to main supermarket/restaurants/ESF lessons area of aime2000.
Aime 2000 not the prettiest, but nice atmosphere in the evening and much less packed than La Plagne Centre.
Good view of slopes and large balcony (unless you end up car park side!)
Staff pleasant enough.
Beds pretty comfy.
Warm and plenty hot water in shower (although not kitchen sink for some reason)

We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced regarding the check-in process. Your feedback about the lock box code and out-of-hours phone number not being answered will be shared with our team to ensure that future guests do not encounter similar issues. Regarding the negative aspects you mentioned, we regret your concerns about the tired decor and cleanliness. Please rest assured that we take these matters seriously, and we will work diligently to address any areas that require improvement. While we regret that there is no bar or restaurant in the building, we are glad to hear that you found the location convenient, with easy access to the main supermarket, restaurants, and ESF lessons area. We are pleased that you enjoyed the views of the slopes, the large balcony, and found the staff pleasant. Additionally, we appreciate your positive comments about the comfort of the beds and the availability of warm water in the shower. Once again, we apologize for any shortcomings during your stay and appreciate your feedback, as it helps us identify areas for improvement. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with an even better experience. The Pierre & Vacances team

Can’t beat this for convenience- park outside, lift up to apt, lift down to ski set to collect kit, lift down to locker room and straight out the door onto the piste- Boom!! Apts are dated compared to other PV premium units we have stayed in, but functional and good value. We had a 1 bed + cabine (which is actually a 2 bed except the window opens onto hallway). Location is fantastic and worth putting up with the ugly buildings if you’re there to make the most out of the skiing. Lovely quiet runs just over hill in Champagny area which don’t get the ski school traffic.

Great location and great staff. Needs a little refurb if I am honest. ski lockers get very crowded and not many areas to sit and put on boots etc. Could do with boot heaters. Kitchen area is lacking basic utensils, we did not bother requesting replacements, this should have been checked.

Great Xmas holidays with the family. We had a fantastic time with our children who discovered skiing in a great location. The apartment was outstanding, the swimming pool and spa facilities were great too.

Stayed in these apartments over the Easter holiday, we stayed in the apartment for 6, we are a family of 5 and we found it a little small, There was only one settee to sit on for 2 people , but after a days skiing you did't really want to sit on hard chairs. The apartment was clean and well equipped, the swimming pool very clean with fantastic views!!! The only downside was if you are beginners (which we were) we had to catch three lifts to get the ski school, carrying childrens equipment aswell as our own, we were exhausted before we started our days skiing!!!!!

My husband and I were booked to stay at P&V Les Hauts Bois for 9 nights with my parents and brother. On arrival we were impressed - lovely plush reception and communal areas and friendly reception staff. However, once we got into the room, it all went downhill. We were staying in what is described as an eight person apartment. This was set over two floors - upstairs were three twin bedrooms and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms had a shower and sink off the room, behind a curtain.( We had to keep the curtain shut all the time as the drains were very smelly). The only storage were some hooks on the wall and shelves and above the bed. The second twin bedroom had no shower/sink and again just the hooks and shelves. The third bedroom had nothing in it except the twin beds and a window that looked out onto the main corridor. There was a cupboard in the landing though! The bathroom consisted of a WC, sink and bath with a shower attachment (but no shower curtain or screen). In all three rooms, if the beds were out together to make a double there was only just enough room to get round the edges of the bed.
Downstairs consisted of a tiny kitchenette that only had space for one person to use at a time, a dining table with a bench on one side and chairs on the other, and a 'sofa' that could be converted into two single beds. There was a sliding patio door that led out to a balcony that overlooked the piste. This had a great view. Downstairs also had a WC and coat cupboard.
On arrival the apartment was stiflingly hot and we had to sleep with all the windows and patio doors open. This meant however that everyone was woken up during the night, either by the piste bashers or people walking down the corridor outside - the floors are stone and it is very loud.
The apartment was really let down by the lack of living space and poor layout - there was nowhere comfy for anyone to sit - the 'sofa' was rock hard and could only fit three people on it at a squeeze. There was plenty of space for sofas but for whatever reason the hotel do not seem to think that they are needed - a shame as there are some lovely comfy sofas in reception that they could have used for inspiration. We considered trying to get them into our room but decided that we might struggle to get them in the lift!
The kitchenette was too small to allow cooking to be a joint effort and it lacked a proper oven (it only had a microwave with oven/grill settings). The only glasses provided were small brandy galsses and tiny tumblers. We ended up using a measuring jug as a drinking cup so you could get more than a mouthful.
The hotel did have positives though - being able to order fresh bread everyday was good and the swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms were a fantastic facility to have. The hotel aso has free WIFI - although it did not work for the first 3 days of our stay.
It is such a shame that the layout and furnishing of the apartment let this hotel down quite so badly. In fact it was so bad we left several days early.
All in all, we won't be back

Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review of your stay in Les Hauts Bois. We are pleased to hear you found our staff friendly on check in, and enjoyed the facilities including the swimming pool, sauna and reception, and the fresh bread every morning. We regret to hear the negative parts of your stay with us. Firstly we apologise that cleanliness of the apartment was not up to our usual high standards. We are also sorry that you were disappointed with the furnishings and size of your apartment. Our website and brochures outline room dimension, sizes, furnishings and equipment available. We do encourage that larger groups to be generous with the size of rooms they book to ensure they have enough space to be comfortable. We also encourage customers who are unhappy with their rooms to speak to our staff in the resort to ensure that problems can be rectified as soon as possible. In regards to the noise level, we do have a "no noise after 10pm" policy at our residences but regret that disturbances can still be caused by exterior noise. We have logged your review and passed your feedback on to head office and our management teams. We are committed to improving all aspects of our service and accommodation so we thank you for your feedback.

We booked a 6-8 person apartment here for 5 friends staying. The two key things we were looking for was ski in/ski out and to have wifi so some of the group could spend half an hour in the evening to keep up with work commitments. The hotel advertised wifi, but it turns out that it is restricted in what you can do - so no VPN or other useful work activities. The free wifi is reducedin speed so it is borderline useless... the reason they restrict it is to make money out of you.
You can purchase 'premium wifi' for 10 euros for 3 days, one of our group did this but the performance was no better - it simply wasn't usable for basic web browsing, online banking, etc. This was when the hotel was relatively empty in early January, I'd hate to think what it was like in peak season. Leaves a very bitter taste in the mouth, and this is just one of those things that is so easy to get right.
The rest of the hotel was 'OK'. Our apartment was advertised as sleeping 6-8 but realistically 4 or 5 was what it could take comfortably. Things like the eating and lounge area aren't big enough for more than 5. It was clean, it had a ski hire shop there which is useful, and underground parking which was 40 euros for 4 nights.
Overall the hotel was average and would get 3/5 review, but we're reducing it to 2/5 because of the wifi.

Apartment 35B on the sixth floor sleeps six: two bedrooms, one ensuite shower room, separate bathroom and toilet, large living and kitchen area. The couch in the living area has a pull-out double bed. Large, south-facing (over the car park) balcony gets the sun from morning till about 3.30pm. Perfect for two adults and two children, but I wouldn't want to be in a party that had to make use of the pull-out bed.
Ski-in, ski-out from the ski room on level –2 is about as good as it gets. An earlier reviewer claimed it wasn't for beginners. I disagree. Once you pop your skis on there's a well-skied (read a bit icy) 30m track to the learner slope and on down to a chair that connects you to the top of the learner slope and a ski school meeting point. It doesn't get much easier than that.
The Hauts Bois apartments are located just below Aime 2000, which is a pro and a con depending on how you look at it. On the plus side, it's a quiet location, away from the noise of Aime 2000. But if you plan to do a spot of self-catering, you'll be wanting to stock up with provisions. The nearest Spar is in Aime 2000, and you have to take three lifts—that's elevators, not gondolas or chairlifts—to get there. So, on foot, it takes 10–15 minutes. It's not quite getting a pint of milk from the corner shop, but not far off it.
All in all, the friendly, young staff, the apartment, the location, and the views worked for this family.

Very nice location for a ski trip, easy slopes access, great value on-site ski rental, on-site ski pass purchase, easy access to grocery store, ski school and restaurants in Aime 2000. The apartment itself was a bit small. The spa was very nice too, after a long skiing day. One big negative - WiFi: be prepared to have a good cellular data package because their WiFi is useless

We are also driving to Haut Bois this year. Not been to Haut Bois before but have skied past three of the last four years. There is a large outdoor car park right next to Haut Bois which we are planning to use (I believe it is free), see on Google maps. I understand there is underground parking available, which can be pre-booked with your accommodation or payed locally when you arrive. Hope this helps, have a good holiday!
Hello, our first year we were in 4B, one double room and a twin room. It is low down, reception end but overlooks the Golf Piste and the nearby hotel and swimming pool, on the corner. Hope that helps? I don't know of any room over looking the car park.
